The objective of this article is to help align higher education of future project managers to the contemporary requirements of global project business. The perspective is project managers’ competencies in knowledge intensive industry, such as in IT branch. In this paper, it is considered that a holistic view of competence self-evaluation helps to assess the current intentional change. The system introduced supports decision making by measuring and capturing the actual drivers designed specifically for the role of project manager. Generalizing the competence identification process appears to be more constructive than detailing about competence content itself. This study brings valuable and novel empirical data using a sample of students acting as project managers in Spain and a sample of experienced project managers from Finland. A number of possible future studies using the same experimental set up are apparent.

We set up a study to analyze quality of life and social adaptation in a group of women suffering from fibromyalgia.Patient inclusion from 1st March to 30th June 2010. An especially designed questionnaire was used for the study, together with Short-Form-36 Health Survey (SF36), Family Apgar questionnaire, Duke-UNC Functional Social Support (Duke-UNC 11) questionnaire, and Social Adaptation Self-evaluation Scale (SASS). SPSS was used for statistical analysis.Following explanation of purpose of our study and confidentiality agreement, 35 women voluntarily joined our study. Mean age was 52.2 years standard deviation (SD) 7.17. 82,9% had children (mean 2.03 and SD 0.94); 85.7% of patients acknowledged coping with fibromyalgia “badly” or “very badly”; 60% acknowledged that their illness affected their families “severely” or “critically”; 94.3% acknowledged their quality of life affected “much” or “very much”; and 85.7% of patients had their social relationships “much” or “very much” affected. 82.9% of our group of patients was under psychiatric treatment. SF36 scored an average of 27.85 on the physical functioning subscale (SD 19.93); physical role 6.42 (SD 18.53); pain 16.64 (SD 13.7); social functioning 32.14 (SD 21.92); mental health 33.14 (SD 19.0); emotional role 15.23 (SD 30.61); vitality 16.28 (SD 18.60) and general health perception 16.71 (SD 14.54). Family Apgar scored 7.34 (SD 2.53). Duke-UNC 11 scored 35.17 (SD 11.34). Finally, SASS scored 31.32 (SD 7.59).In view of the results, women suffering from fibromyalgia showed severe changes in all parameters analyzed, social adaptation being very much impaired.

This paper is the result of scientific analysis and assessment of scientific literature and a number of information sources taking into consideration the authors’ reflection experience and observations in connection with the mathematics role in sustainable development which may be characterized by a number of factors, including, mathematical competence compliance with competencies for sustainable development as well as coherence between mathematical competence and capacity which should have new professional. The methodology of the research is based on Danish KOM (Competencies and the Learning of Mathematics) project which set up eight mathematical competences: abilities to ask and answer questions in and with mathematics and he ability to deal with and manage mathematical language and tools. Students from Latvia University of Agriculture and Riga Technical University were asked to evaluate (using self-evaluation method) their mathematical competence by writing in the questionnaire numbers from 0 to 3, where 0 - I have not mastered this skill, but 3 - I can apply mathematical knowledge in different situations of life, I can formulate a mathematical problem, solve it. The survey results are analysed by respondents mathematics learning experience as well as needs for mathematics knowledge and skills in modern labour market conditions as well as in accordance with factor for social capital building.

In our paper, we use applied-information technology and mathematical modeling in arrangement. We take advantage of relevant data of the elements, and then establish an effective model for arrangement. First we collect the data of elements. Based on the two characteristic indexes of elements, we discuss the characteristic indexes of elements and set up Self-evaluation DEA model built on the hierarchy structure of the evaluation indexes and incompleteness of weight set. Finally, we compare our results with the real arrangement, and our results prove well. Furthermore, we extend our model to other possible arrangements.

Vaccinating decisions can be influenced by imitation as well as self-evaluation or aspiration. This work analyses vaccinating behaviours by coupling both imitation and aspiration update rules, adopting an existing set-up of the mean-field vaccination game. We incorporate the imitation mechanism with several variants of the aspiration protocol, encompassing constant and adaptive aspirations. Equations of the combined dynamics have been derived by grouping the population according to (i) vaccinating strategies and (ii) healthy and infected status within each strategy. If aspiration levels are fixed but differentiated by vaccinating strategies, then vaccinators aspiring less than non-vaccinators are found to ameliorate the vaccination coverage, thereby yielding a less infectious state. The adaptive aspirations maintain a positive correlation with the vaccine efficacy while keeping the opposite relation with vaccination cost. When vaccinating strategies, aspirations and update rules are allowed to evolve synchronously, then either the imitation or aspiration process takes over the entire population. If aspiration rules prevail, then vaccinees and non-vaccinees coexist equally (according to (i)) or vaccine uptake follows a non-monotonic trend with the efficacy (according to (ii)). The imitative rule performs better when vaccination is less expensive or cheap, while aspiration updating safeguards the tenacity of vaccinees despite vaccination being expensive.

The use of agile methodologies like SCRUM is seen by companies in the software engineering field as a strategic necessity for their competitiveness, which makes them more reactive and dynamic in an increasingly demanding and competitive international market. One of the critical factors in the implementation of a SCRUM environment is the set-up of teams that are simultaneously homogeneous and composed of the best collaborators for each SCRUM role. In this sense, this study describes the modeling process and presents the implementation of a decision support system that can contribute to improving the process of assigning an agile team simultaneously considering the technical and social skills of employees. The results of the study allowed testing the application considering different competencies associated to each Agile position, the impact that the attribution process suffers from oscillations in the process of evaluation and self-evaluation, and the impact in terms of the performance of the inclusion of new collaborators and criteria comparison.

Three techniques were incorporated for drying clay-rich specimens: air-drying, freeze-drying and critical point drying. In air-drying, the specimens were set out for several days to dry or were placed in an oven (80°F) for several hours. The freeze-dried specimens were frozen by immersion in liquid nitrogen or in isopentane at near liquid nitrogen temperature and then were immediately placed in the freeze-dry vacuum chamber. The critical point specimens were molded in agar immediately after sampling. When the agar had set up the dehydration series, water-alcohol-amyl acetate-CO2 was carried out. The objectives were to compare the fabric plasmas (clays and precipitates), fabricskeletons (quartz grains) and the relationship between them for each drying technique. The three drying methods are not only applicable to the study of treated soils, but can be incorporated into all SEM clay soil studies.

Freeze-etching electron microscopy is currently one of the best methods for studying molecular organization of biological materials. Its application, however, is still limited by our imprecise knowledge about the perturbations of the original organization which may occur during quenching and fracturing of the samples and during the replication of fractured surfaces. Although it is well known that the preservation of the molecular organization of biological materials is critically dependent on the rate of freezing of the samples, little information is presently available concerning the nature and the extent of freezing-rate dependent perturbations of the original organizations. In order to obtain this information, we have developed a method based on the comparison of x-ray diffraction patterns of samples before and after freezing, prior to fracturing and replication.Our experimental set-up is shown in Fig. 1. The sample to be quenched is placed on its holder which is then mounted on a small metal holder (O) fixed on a glass capillary (p), whose position is controlled by a micromanipulator.
