This paper is the result of scientific analysis and assessment of scientific literature and a number of information sources taking into consideration the authors’ reflection experience and observations in connection with the mathematics role in sustainable development which may be characterized by a number of factors, including, mathematical competence compliance with competencies for sustainable development as well as coherence between mathematical competence and capacity which should have new professional. The methodology of the research is based on Danish KOM (Competencies and the Learning of Mathematics) project which set up eight mathematical competences: abilities to ask and answer questions in and with mathematics and he ability to deal with and manage mathematical language and tools. Students from Latvia University of Agriculture and Riga Technical University were asked to evaluate (using self-evaluation method) their mathematical competence by writing in the questionnaire numbers from 0 to 3, where 0 - I have not mastered this skill, but 3 - I can apply mathematical knowledge in different situations of life, I can formulate a mathematical problem, solve it. The survey results are analysed by respondents mathematics learning experience as well as needs for mathematics knowledge and skills in modern labour market conditions as well as in accordance with factor for social capital building.

Knowledge presented by Oral History (OH) is unique in that it shares the tacit perspective, thoughts, opinions and understanding of the interviewee in its primary form. While teachers, lecturers and other education specialists have at their disposal a wide range of primary, secondary and tertiary sources upon which to relate and share or impart knowledge, OH presents a rich source of information that can improve the learning and knowledge impartation experience. The uniqueness of OH is presented in the following advantages of its use: it allows one to learn about the perspectives of individuals who might not otherwise appear in the historical record; it allows one to compensate for the digital age; one can learn different kinds of information; it provides historical actors with an opportunity to tell their own stories in their own words; and it offers a rich opportunity for human interaction. This article discusses the placement of oral history in the classroom set-up by investigating its use as a source of learning material presented by the National Archives of Zimbabwe to students in the Department of Records and Archives Management at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST). Interviews and a group discussion were used to gather data from an archivist at the National Archives of Zimbabwe, lecturers and students in the Department of Records and Archives Management at NUST, respectively. These groups were approached on the usability, uniqueness and other characteristics that support this type of knowledge about OH in a tertiary learning experience. The findings indicate several qualities that reflect the richness of OH as a teaching source material in a classroom set-up. It further points to weak areas that may be addressed where the source is considered a viable strategy for knowledge sharing and learning. The researchers present a possible model that can be used to champion the use of this rich knowledge source in classroom education at this university and in similar set-ups.

The agroecological economic system is the basic system on which human beings depend for survival. In order to better evaluate the operation status of a regional agroecological economic system and deepen the cognition of the input and output of the regional agroecological economic system from the angle of emergy, the evaluation method of sustainable development of the regional agroecological economic system with comprehensive consideration of resources, economy, and environment was proposed by constructing a unified dimensional measurement model. This paper analyzed and evaluated the data of the agroecological economic system in Anhui Province from 2010 to 2019. The results showed that the agroecological economic system in Anhui Province bore less environmental pressure and gradually decreased, and had a good system efficiency and economic benefits. The average emergy sustainability index (ESI) was 3.12, indicating that the agroecological economic system in Anhui Province had certain vitality of sustainable development. Based on this, the paper puts forward some suggestions on sustainable and high-quality agricultural development in Anhui Province, which provides theoretical and methodical support for sustainable development of a regional agricultural economy.

In this paper, we explore the challenges experienced by a group of Primary 5 to 6 (age 12–14) students as they engaged in a series of problem-solving tasks through block-based programming. The challenges were analysed according to a taxonomy focusing on the presence of computational thinking (CT) elements in mathematics contexts: preparing problems, programming, create computational abstractions, as well as troubleshooting and debugging. Our results suggested that the challenges experienced by students were compounded by both having to learn the CT-based environment as well as to apply mathematical concepts and problem solving in that environment. Possible explanations for the observed challenges stemming from differences between CT and mathematical thinking are discussed in detail, along with suggestions towards improving the effectiveness of integrating CT into mathematics learning. This study provides evidence-based directions towards enriching mathematics education with computation.

The present study provides a description of the model of interactive digital pedagogy for remote areas and its impact on pedagogical satisfaction and academic achievement of students. This pedagogical intervention was designed to enrich and supplement the teaching-learning experience in remote and underprivileged schools through the use of technology. An interactive online teaching-learning system was set-up using a digital pedagogy. 150 school students and 80 prospective teachers from three higher secondary schools of Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu participated in the study. Pedagogical satisfaction and academic achievement of the school students who studied in this set-up were examined. The results revealed that active learning, technological competence and learner autonomy were enhanced in an online environment when compared to an offline environment.

Abstract Objective – Education offers advances in human and social development. It provides knowledge and resources that hold the potential for economic empowerment, resulting in a better livelihood. Hence, women need access to education with library services, if they are to have a voice, participate in sustainable development, and take care of their own health, as well as that of their children and members of their households. This paper examines the challenges women encounter in Onitsha metropolis, Anambra State, Nigeria. This study seeks to gain insight into the resources used to enhance learning, as well as the students’ perceptions and satisfaction with their learning experience. Methods – A descriptive survey research design was used. The study was carried out in five adult education centres in the city with a sample size of 120 women, randomly selected for collection of data. Questionnaire, interview, and observation methods were employed. The physical assessment of the centres was done for an evidence based report and to assess the real situations of the centres. Results – The findings show the challenges faced by Nigerian women in their pursuit of ongoing adult education included: time for the classes which are usually held in the evening, poor financial status, lack of encouragement from spouses and relations, poor learning environments, and stress. The data were analyzed using percentages and frequency counts. They are presented in tables and figures. Conclusions – It is recommended that education and library management should assess these centres for program improvements like providing more enabling environments and learning facilities. The implication of the study is that library and information services should be extended to these women to stimulate and support learning with the right attitude for active involvement in the educational activities and for enhancement of social inclusion.

Understanding mathematical topics is important for both educators and students to capture latent concepts of questions, evaluate study performance, and recommend content in online learning systems. Compared to traditional text classification, mathematical topic classification has several main challenges: (1) the length of mathematical questions is relatively short; (2) there are various representations of the same mathematical concept(i.e., calculations and application); (3) the content of question is complex including algebra, geometry, and calculus. In order to overcome these problems, we propose a framework that combines content tokens and mathematical knowledge concepts in whole procedures. We embed entities from mathematics knowledge graphs, integrate entities into tokens in a masked language model, set up semantic similarity-based tasks for next-sentence prediction, and fuse knowledge vectors and token vectors during the fine-tuning procedure. We also build a Chinese mathematical topic prediction dataset consisting of more than 70,000 mathematical questions with topics. Our experiments using real data demonstrate that our knowledge graph-based mathematical topic prediction model outperforms other state-of-the-art methods.

Mathematical logical intelligence is one of the skills that are needed in the 21st century related to mathematical problem-solving skills. The importance of this skill is not in line with the facts on the ground, where students are still weak in counting and using logic in problem solving. The purpose of this research is to improve students’ mathematical logical intelligence through the online-based integration of local wisdom of Sulapa Eppa Walasuji. Sulapa Eppa Walasuji is one of the Bugis-Makassar local wisdoms with a unique pattern, appropriate to be used as a medium for learning transformation of geometry. Through the integration of local wisdom, Sulapa Eppa Walasuji can create contextual mathematics learning, so that students can easily understand the material by connecting real-life concepts. This research includes experimental research with a quasi-experimental design of the nonequivalent control group design type. The research instrument used was a mathematical logical intelligence test consisting of five essay questions. The data analysis used is descriptive statistics with gain score and effect size testing. The results showed that the mathematical logical intelligence of experimental class students increased by 43.16 with the effective contribution of the r effect size being 0.910. This indicates that the online-based integration of Sulapa Eppa Walasuji can improve students’ mathematical logical intelligence.

This study aims to (1) find out whether the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who are taught by realistic mathematics learning were higher than those students who were taught using conventional learning; (2) knowing students' learning attitudes towards realistic mathematics learning approaches. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted in class VII of the Junior High School 28 Medan 2017/2018 Academic Year where the population of this study was all class VII. Samples from this study were class VII-G as the experimental class and class VII-F as the control class. Based on the results of the analysis of calculations, the following data are obtained: (1) the results of analysis of realistic mathematical learning on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities using the t-test found that ttable = 1.68 and tcount = 3.6821 so tcount> ttable then concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha be accepted. The mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who are taught by realistic mathematics learning was higher than conventional learning. (2) student responses were very positive towards realistic mathematics learning with an average of ≥ 86.03.

This research is intended to produce multilateral movement skill teaching models based games for the 2nd grade students of elementary school which are valid, practice, and effective. The aim of this study was to develop a teaching model of multilateral basic movements based on characteristics of students. This produce focused on three basic movement: locomotors, non locomotors, manipulative. To to produce the prototype of the materials, ADDIE model was applied. The development of the teaching model was conducted in five steps: (1) Analyze, (2) Design, (3) Develop, (4) Implement, and (5) Evaluate. The models was revised by using self evaluation and experts review evaluation. In order to see the practicality of the product, the models was tried out by using small group and Field Test Evaluation Method in the 2nd grade of SD Negeri 52 Parupuk Tabing Padang. Meanwhile to see the effectiveness of the learning materials developed, the models was tried out by using field test evaluation method at SD Negeri Percobaan Padang. Based on the results of the research, it is concluded that multilateral movement skill teaching models based games for the 2nd grade students of elementary school are valid, practical, and effective.
