Selected literature on individual differences in pilot performance is reviewed in order to indicate a possible direction for research. Decision-making performance in contingency situations is seen as a potentially fruitful area for study of individual differences, although information on the relative roles of experience and cognitive abilities, styles, and strategies are needed in all research areas. The role of cognitive styles in pilot performance is essentially unexplored; however, the identification of individual pilot behavior differences that have been attributed to style differences and the results of automobile driver behavior research suggest considerable potential. Approaches to studying pilot decision-making processes are discussed, with emphasis given to the wrong-model approach in which accident and incident data, or “process tracing” provide experimental computational structures. Analysis of data from a simulator experiment on V/STOL zero-visibility landing performance suggests that the order of ranking of individual pilot's effectiveness varies with particular situations defined by combinations of tracking requirements (e.g., glide slope, localizer) and glide-slope segment, or speed requirements; the data are being further analyzed.

Palabras Claves: Datos abiertos, Información, Reutilización, toma de decisionesThe re-use of public sector information is presented as an opportunity for citizens and businesses to contribute to decision-making, monitoring and control of public institutions and improve the quality of life. This paper presents an overview of open data, the legal framework and existing initiatives in Colombia. Although open data are considered a powerful tool for citizens to have access to information collected by the government and participate in decision-making, Colombia has taken small steps and still has a long way to goKeywords: Open Data, Information, Reuse, decision making

This paper presents a detailed optimal model of a metacognitive decision-making process for individuals. With the aid of an organizing diagram, the various stages of decision-making are presented: gathering and organizing information prior to problem definition; definition of the problem; gathering and organizing information in the light of the definition; planning the solution's implementation, and feedback. The process involves two systems. One, which is supportive, includes mental imagery, self-talk, regulation of processing, management of time and resources, and precision. The second system oversees the process through monitoring and control. The model's advantages are expressed in four areas: high probability of correct decisions, over time; reduction of grave errors; creation of new strategies; and facilitation of positive transfer to new tasks and situations. The paper proposes several future directions: expanding the theory to include group processes and affective and motivational factors, validation of the model through empirical and qualitative studies, and application of the model in instruction, learning and various other fields.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, had ordered the mandatory merger of 63 Moons Technologies Limited (63 Moons) with its crisis struck subsidiary company, National Spot Exchange Limited (NSEL), the electronic commodity spot exchange of India. However, 63 Moons’ board and promoters did not agree with the forced merger order as they believed that they were not at major fault behind the NSEL payment crisis. The case provides an opportunity to participate in the real-world complex decision-making process which involves the forced merger of two entities that may affect the interest of various stakeholders. The case allows examination of the issues such as related party transactions, internal monitoring and control processes, organizational structure and the regulatory framework which led to the payment crisis.

In the digital transformation era in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry, Cognitive Digital Twins (CDT) are introduced as part of the next level of process automation and control towards Construction 4.0. CDT incorporates cognitive abilities to detect complex and unpredictable actions and reason about dynamic process optimization strategies to support decision-making in building lifecycle management (BLM). Nevertheless, there is a lack of understanding of the real impact of CDT integration, Machine Learning (ML), Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT), all connected to self-learning hybrid models with proactive cognitive capabilities for different phases of the building asset lifecycle. This study investigates the applicability, interoperability, and integrability of an adapted model of CDT for BLM to identify and close this gap. Surveys of industry experts were performed focusing on life cycle-centric applicability, interoperability, and the CDT model’s integration in practice besides decision support capabilities and AEC industry insights. The evaluation of the adapted model of CDT model support approaching the development of CDT for process optimization and decision-making purposes, as well as integrability enablers confirms progression towards Construction 4.0.

With the progress of science and technology, the emergence of new technologies has greatly promoted young college students' entrepreneurial boom. However, the progress of science and technology not only brings more opportunities for entrepreneurship, but also makes the market competition more intense. High-speed information updating makes the risk of entrepreneurship sharply increase. Individual entrepreneurship gradually transforms into group entrepreneurship, further increasing the complexity of decision-making. In order to reduce entrepreneurial decision-making errors, this study empirically analyzed the impact of entrepreneurial cognitive ability on entrepreneurial decision-making of entrepreneurial groups of students in Beiijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other regions who have been entrepreneurs for three months to six years. The data of five factors, entrepreneurial consensus ability, professional allocation ability, monitoring and control ability, decision-making speed and effect of decision making, were collected through questionnaire. The relationships between the factors were initially determined using SPSS, and the causal relationship was further analyzed using multi-variable regression analysis. The results showed that entrepreneurial consensus ability and professional allocation ability had a significant positive impact on decision-making speed, monitoring and control ability had no significant impact on decision-making speed, professional allocation ability and monitoring ability had a significant positive impact on decision-making effect, and entrepreneurial consensus ability had no significant impact on decision-making effect. In conclusion, entrepreneurial cognitive ability of student entrepreneurs has a significant impact on entrepreneurial decision-making.
