ABSTRACT Two chlamydial homologues of the Yersinia lcrH chaperone for type III secretion system structural components are present within separate gene clusters. Quantitative transcriptional analyses demonstrated that each cluster is differentially regulated and expressed as an operon using major sigma factor elements, suggesting the presence of more elaborate developmental regulation mechanisms in chlamydiae.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is able to grow on acyclic monoterpenes (citronellol, citronellate, geraniol and geranylate), and on other methyl-branched compounds such as leucine or isovalerate. The catabolic pathway of citronellol (Atu, acyclic terpene utilization) enters that of leucine/isovalerate (Liu, leucine and isovalerate utilization) at the level of methylcrotonyl-CoA. Key enzymes of the combined pathways are geranyl-CoA carboxylase (GCase) and methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase (MCase). In this study, isovalerate-grown cells specifically expressed MCase (apparent molecular mass of the biotin-containing subunit, 74 kDa) only, and the GCase biotin-containing subunit (71 kDa) was not detected. Citronellol- or citronellate-grown cells produced both carboxylases. Biotin-dependent proteins were purified from crude extracts by avidin-affinity chromatography, and assigned to the corresponding coding genes by trypsin fingerprint analysis. The two subunits of MCase corresponded to liuB/liuD (PA2014/PA2012) of the P. aeruginosa genome database, and atuC/atuF (PA2888/PA2891) encoded GCase subunits. This finding is contrary to that reported by others. The identified genes are part of two separate gene clusters [liuRABCDE (PA2011–PA2016) and atuABCDEFGH (PA2886–PA2893)] that are thought to encode most of the genes of the Atu and Liu pathways.

      The Aim of this study was to determine Immunogenetic expression of  Toll-like receptor gene clusters related to prostatitis, to give acknowledge about Role of TLR in prostatitis immunity in men from Basrah and Maysan provinces. A case–control study included 135 confirmed prostatitis patients And 50 persons as a control group. Data about age, marital status, working, infertility, family history and personal information like (Infection, Allergy, Steroid therapy, Residency, Smoking, Alcohol Drinking, Blood group, Body max index (BMI) and the clinical finding for all patients of Prostatitis were collected. This study shows the effect of PSA level in patients with prostatitis and control group, with P-value <0.0001 therefore the study shows a positive significant between elevated PSA levels and Prostatitis.

Cyanobacteria are prolific producers of natural products and genome mining has shown that many orphan biosynthetic gene clusters can be found in sequenced cyanobacterial genomes. New tools and methodologies are required to investigate these biosynthetic gene clusters and here we present the use of <i>Anabaena </i>sp. strain PCC 7120 as a host for combinatorial biosynthesis of natural products using the indolactam natural products (lyngbyatoxin A, pendolmycin, and teleocidin B-4) as a test case. We were able to successfully produce all three compounds using codon optimized genes from Actinobacteria. We also introduce a new plasmid backbone based on the native <i>Anabaena</i>7120 plasmid pCC7120ζ and show that production of teleocidin B-4 can be accomplished using a two-plasmid system, which can be introduced by co-conjugation.

Actin and tubulin are cytoskeleton proteins, which are important components of the celland are conserved across species. Despite their crucial significance in cell motility and cell division the distribution and phylogeny of actin and tubulin genes across taxa is poorly understood. Here we used publicly available genomic data of 49 model species of plants, animals, fungi and Protista for further understanding the distribution of these genes among diverse eukaryotic species using rice as reference. The highest numbers of rice actin and tubulin gene homologs were present in plants followed by animals, fungi and Protista species, whereas ten actin and nine tubulin genes were conserved in all 49 species. Phylogenetic analysis of 19 actin and 18 tubulin genes clustered them into four major groups each. One each of the actin and tubulin gene clusters was conserved across eukaryotic species. Species trees based on the conserved actin and tubulin genes showed evolutionary relationship of 49 different taxa clustered into plants, animals, fungi and Protista. This study provides a phylogenetic insight into the evolution of actin and tubulin genes in diverse eukaryotic species.
