Upwelling events analysis in southern coast of Java and Banda sea were conducted. The events were identified by using satellite data i.e. wind surface, Sea Surface Temperature (SST) and ocean color during period of 14 years (2002-2016) which calculated by Ekman pumping and Ekman transport. It’s found that Ekman pumping velocity in Banda Sea reached a maximum in June-July-August (JJA) by approximately 3,65x10 -6 . Comparing with Ekman transport, Ekman pumping makes an even greater contribution to the local upwelling in Banda Sea. Ekman pumping velocity in southern coast of Java reached a maximum in June-July-August (JJA) by approximately 4,9x10 -1 ms . Ekman pumping and Ekman transport makes an equal contribution to coastal upwelling in southern coast of Java. That’s related to highest clorophyll-a concentration apperars in JJA periode. Partial correlation analysis then was applied to identify a correlation between chlorophyll-a concentration and interannual climate variabilities such as ENSO and IOD. Partial Correlation between chlorophyll-a and Nino 3.4 and DMI-Dipole Mode Index (controlled) in Banda Sea is 0.18, and 0.05 in southercoast of Java. It’s represent ENSO (Elnino Southern Oscilation) has higher influences to Banda Sea than southern coast of Java. Partial correlation between chlorophyll-a and DMI and Nino 3.4 (controlled) is 0.55 in southern coast of Java, and 0.25 in Banda Sea. Its represent IOD (Indian Ocean Dipole) has higher influences to southern coast of Java than Banda Sea. Upwelling in Banda sea and along southern coast of Java dominantly occurs in southeast monsoon as a responds to regional wind driven motion associated with the monsoon climate. <p>Unprecedented coastal upwelling in the southern coast of the Korean peninsula was reported in the summer of 2013. The offshore water temperature was 2℃ higher than that of climate (10-year mean) due to the hot summer in 2013. However, the water temperature at the coastal region was 2℃ lower. The upwelling continued for a month despite of weakening of upwelling-favorable wind. In this study, observational data and numerical model results were analyzed to investigate what caused the upwelling and sustained it for a long time. The upwelling was induced by upwelling-favorable wind in July. Coastal upwelling resulted in dynamic uplift of bottom cold water due to geostrophic adjustment. The dynamic uplift decreased sea level in the coastal region. The sea level difference between coastal and offshore regions resulted in an intensified cross-shore pressure gradient which induced geostrophic current accompanied by geostrophic adjustment along the coast. This positive feedback between dynamic uplift and geostrophic adjustment sustained the coastal upwelling for a long time regardless of upwelling-favorable wind.</p>

Abstract The seas along the Southern Coast of Java, which are parts of the Indian Ocean, are exposed to climate variability conditions that influence the dynamic of oceanographic parameters in these areas. In terms of interannual climate variability, previous studies showed that Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) variability is more influential than El Niño Southern Oscillation on the upwelling variability along the Southern Coast of Java. This study aimed to determine the effect of strong positive IOD in 2019 on the upwelling along the Southern coast of Java and investigate the possible mechanisms. This study used sea surface temperature data from OISST, wind speed data from the ASCAT satellite, chlorophyll-a data from the Aqua-MODIS, and sea level anomaly data obtained from altimetry satellites. All data were processed using the composite method. The results show enhanced southeast monsoon upwelling during the 2019 strong positive IOD along the Southern Coast of Java as denoted by higher positive (negative) anomaly of chlorophyll-a (SST) from the climatology. Interestingly, the easterly wind speed is lower than the climatology. Since the IOD influences upwelling along the Southern Coast of Java through the propagation of Kelvin wave, our results indicate the enhancing (weakening) upwelling (downwelling) Kelvin wave during the strong positive IOD in 2019 with the propagation speed of about 1.16 m/s. This Kelvin Wave propagation may amplify the coastal upwelling along the Southern Coast of Java.

The fauna of Gryllomorphinae of Turkey is reviewed. Sixteen species and subspecies are established. Ovaliptila anamur sp. nov., O. anitli sp. nov., O. alanya sp. nov., O. alanya proxima subsp. nov., O. alara sp. nov., O. teke sp. nov., O. ibrahimi sp. nov., Glandulosa borisi sp. nov. and Gryllomorpha dalmatina minutissima subsp. nov. are described. Ovaliptila beroni (Popov, 1975), Glandulosa kinzelbachi Harz, 1979, G. harzi Gorochov, 1996 and Gryllomorpha Antalya Gorochov, 2009 are briefly characterized based on the type material. Ovaliptila buresi Mařan, 1958 is indicated as a rather widely distributed species in the western part of Anatolia (but not in the southern coast of this peninsula). Gryllomorpha dalmatina pieperi Harz, 1979, G. miramae Medvedev, 1933 and the nominotypical subspecies of G. miramae are recorded from Turkey for the first time, but both subspecies remain open to question.

The aim of the work is to supplement and clarify the annotated list of vascular plants of “Castel” nature reserve on the Southern coast of the Crimea. Methods. The work is based on the results of long standing field research, which was carried out by the traditional route-reconnaissance method, analysis of YALT herbarium materials and data from literary and Internet sources. Arealogical and biomorphological characteristics of species are given according to "Biological Flora of the Crimea" by V.N. Golubev, biotope coding according to EUNIS habitat classification. The nomenclature of taxa corresponds to the " Spontaneuos flora of the Crimean peninsula" by A.V. Yena and to international databases Euro+Med PlantBase, The Plant List, Catalog of Life. Results. An additional annotated list of vascular plants of “Castel” nature reserve has been compiled, including 152 species, subspecies and cultivars from 97 genera of 38 families, of which 53 genera and 11 families have also not been cited for this territory before. Arealogical, biomorphological, biotopic and sozological characteristics of the taxa are given. As a result of a critical analysis of the list previously published by E.S. Krainyuk, four species were redefined, two species were proposed to be excluded from the flora of the specially protected natural area, several taxa are considered doubtful. Conclusions. The list of vascular plant taxa in “Castel” nature reserve has been supplemented with 11 families, 53 genera, and 152 species, subspecies, and cultivars; several species from the previously compiled list have been proposed to be excluded or considered doubtful. Thus, the flora of the protected area includes at least 425 species from 68 families. For the first time, the biotopic characteristic of the flora of the reserve was established.

The article considers little-studied stories in Russian historiography about the post-war state of Yalta — one of the most famous health resorts of the Soviet Union, the «pearl» of the southern coast of Crimea. Based on the analysis of mainly archival sources, the most important measures of the party and Soviet leadership bodies, the heads of garrisons immediately after the withdrawal of the fascist occupation regime were analyzed. It was established that the authorities paid priority attention not only to the destroyed economy and infrastructure, but also to the speedy introduction of all-Union and departmental sanatoriums and recreation houses, other recreational facilities. As a result of their coordinated actions in the region, food industry enterprises, collective farms and cooperative artels, objects of cultural heritage and the social and everyday sphere were put into operation in a short time.
