This paper is dedicated to the issues of designing of outriggers for avoidance of vehicle tilting during its stability tests. An analysis of existing types of outriggers was done by authors as well as legislative requirements on them. The reliable and well-timed operation of outriggers largely depends on the height of their positioning on a vehicle. In order to determine this important parameter a special methodic of determining the tipping angle of the vehicle with the use of computer-aided design (CAD) was composed by authors. The article also contains some main principles of strength analysis of the structure a very important part of which became the necessity of determination of coefficient of friction between the outrigger sliders and the supporting surface. This coefficient has a direct impact on the value of transverse forces appearing at the ends of outrigger beams.

The determination of workspace is an essential step in the development of parallel manipulators. By extending the virtual-chain (VC) approach to the type synthesis of parallel manipulators, this technical brief proposes a VC approach to the workspace analysis of parallel manipulators. This method is first outlined before being illustrated by the production of a three-dimensional (3D) computer-aided-design (CAD) model of a 3-RPS parallel manipulator and evaluating it for the workspace of the manipulator. Here, R, P and S denote revolute, prismatic and spherical joints respectively. The VC represents the motion capability of moving platform of a manipulator and is shown to be very useful in the production of a graphical representation of the workspace. Using this approach, the link interferences and certain transmission indices can be easily taken into consideration in determining the workspace of a parallel manipulator.

The Fibonacci group F(2, 7) has been known to be cyclic of order 29 for about five years. This was first established by computer coset enumerations which exhibit only the result, without supporting proofs. The working in a coset enumeration actually contains proofs of many relations that hold in the group. A hand proof that F(2, 7) is cyclic of order 29, based on the working in computer coset enumerations, is presented here.

The aim of this study was to determine whether or not animation applications affect student achievement in science and technology course. For this purpose, effect of constructive approach supported by animations in the instruction of the unit “Living Organisms and Energy” to the 8th grade students on their academic achievement was investigated. This unit was taught to the experimental group using a constructivist approach supported by animations and to the control group using a constructivist approach without animations. For data collection, an achievement was developed and administered to experimental and control groups as pre-tests and post-tests. Collected data was analyzed using t-test and MANOVA. As a result of the research, it was revealed that supporting the constructivist approach with animations was more effective in increasing academic achievement. The paper deals with various performance factors in underachiever students primarily juvenile delinquents who reported declining levels of achievement throughout the duration of corrective out-of-institution measures. This raises the question: Why is there a decline in school achievement of juvenile delinquents during the treatment which is essentially aimed at improving school performance. What causes this? In the search for an answer we considered various approaches for the determination of the identity of a juvenile delinquent, underaching at school. The author takes issue with traditional views on identity and changes the focus from an individual over to the interaction between an individual and society. It is argued that poor school performance should be placed in the context of social relations; the author suggests that problems faced by underachievers at school only accidentally stem from what they can or cannot do, rather, the root of the problem lies in the manner other people relate to them. It is necessary that a teacher should realize that students are social beings in behavioral experiments who have individualities and that their personal characteristics stem from their relations with other people. A teacher is expected to attempt to construct the manner in which a student views himself and the world around himself, that is, to enter a "role relationship" with him.
