Wireless LAN networks are considered to be widely used and efficient infrastructure used in different domains of communication. In this paper, we worked on Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) to prevent intruder's activities by using snooping agents and honeypot on the network. The idea behind using snooping agents and honeypot is to provide network management in term of monitoring. Honey pot is placed just after the Firewall and intrusion system have strongly coupled synchronize with snooping agents Monitoring is considered at packet level and pattern level of the traffic. Simulation filtered and monitor traffic for highlight the intrusion in the network. Further attack sequence has been created and have shown the effects of attack sequence on scenario which have both honey pot and snoop agent with different network performance parameters like throughput, network load, queuing delay, retransmission attempt and packet. The simulation scenario shows the impact of attack on the network performance.

A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a decentralized network of mobile node that are connected to an arbitrary topology via wireless connections. The breakdown of the connecting links between adjacent nodes will probably lead to the loss of the transferred data packets. In this research, we proposed an algorithm for link prediction (LP) to enhance the link break provision of the ad hoc on-demand remote protocol (AODV). The proposed algorithm is called the AODV Link Break Prediction (AODVLBP). The AODVLBP prevents link breaks by the use of a predictive measure of the changing signal. The AODVLBP was evaluated using the network simulator version 2.35 (NS2) and compared with the AODV Link prediction (AODVLP) and the AODV routing protocols. The simulation results reveal the effectiveness of AODVLBP in improving network performance in terms of average end-to-end delay, packet delivery ratio, packet overhead ratio, and packet drop-neighbour break.

Sriwijaya State Polytechnic is an educational institution that provides wireless hotspots in every lecture building. With the increasing need for internet, especially on Youtube streaming, it is necessary to have an analysis in each lecture building to find out QoS (Quality of Service) and RMA (Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability) on the Wireless LAN network at Sriwijaya State Polytechnic. This study uses the Action Research method. For QoS measurement using wireshark software and Axence netTools by logging in through the hotspot for each department at the Sriwijaya State Polytechnic, to find out the performance of a network using PRTG (Paessler Router Traffic Grapher) software using the ping IP Address sensor will display the availability monitoring results. The results of the largest measurement of maximum bandwidth are 21,639,256 bit / s in the Business Administration Department, for the highest delay and jitter values are 36 ms and 0.050 ms in the KPA building (Administrative Head Office). The result of the largest packet loss is 0.093% in the Department of Electrical Engineering, for the largest throughput is 0.918 Mbit / s at 1080HD video quality in the Accounting Department. Monitoring RMA aims to determine the performance of an internet network with an Availability result of 99%, this is categorized in good condition. It can be concluded that the QoS measurement results based on the TIPHON version are categorized as very good and the RMA monitoring results have good network performance results as well.Keyword: Streaming Youtube, Parameter QoS, wireshark, RMA ABSTRAKPoliteknik Negeri Sriwijaya merupakan salah satu instansi pendidikan yang menyediakan wireless hotspot di setiap gedung kuliah.

Nowadays, due to the widespread usage of mobile devices and wireless network technologies, we can use various ICT services almost anytime, anywhere even if we are changing our location at that moment. Therefore, mobility management technology have been attracting attention. This technology is to keep communication alive even when a mobile node (MN), which is communicating with the server or some nodes, moves to another network domain. Software Defined Networking (SDN) is used for mobility management to realize effective intra-domain routing that optimizes routes when an MN moves inside an SDN domain. However, many of the approaches mainly focus on intra-domain routing and it is difficult to optimize inter-domain route. In this paper, we focus on this routing optimization problem and propose an SDN based end-to-end routing mechanism specified for mobility management. The proposed routing mechanism can optimize an end-to-end route based on various parameters such as bandwidth, number of domains, and flow operations for mobility after an MN has moved across SDN domains. We carried out some simulational experimentations to evaluate the effect of proposal. It is shown that the proposed routing mechanism can reduce communication delay and enhance network performance. Thus, the proposed routing mechanism can realize effective ICT services.

Due to the further development in recent years, VoWLAN(VoIP over Wireless LAN) will achieve convergence with other service inevitably and has a higher requirement for network performance. Service focused on the whole converged network is different, so the measure of network status has different demands, we should set parameters reasonably and make it adaptive network in order to realize the optimization of network performance according to the current channel load level and distribution of service condition. Therefore, we can adjust the Contention Window(CW) dynamically, according to the slot utilization rate to estimate the channel load and the concept of backoff discontinuation rate. Simulation results prove that this scheme is simple and effective, largely improved QoS performance of the throughput and delay of each service.

Wireless networking technology is becoming increasingly popular but, at the same time, has introduced many security issues. WEP standards are followed in WLANs for providing security. But WEP is fatally crippled by the fact that WEP keys are the same for all users, all sessions and never changes and its poor implementation of the RC4 encryption scheme. The authentication mechanism is based on a  simple challenge-response protocol. The main problem with the previously used method was same key was used for both encryption and authentication. But the proposed authentication is by means of certificates using Extensible Authentication Protocol and a session key is transferred after successful authentication between mobile node and server. This session key is then used for encrypting messages using Advanced Encryption Standard between mobile node and server.
