Objective: To assess students' opinions of the potential influence of taking elective courses in chiropractic techniques and their future practice preferences. Methods: An anonymous, voluntary survey was conducted among graduating students from a doctor of chiropractic program. The survey included questions regarding the chiropractic technique elective courses they had completed and the potential influence of these courses on their chiropractic technique choices in future practice. Surveys were pretested for face validity, and data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: Of the 56 surveys distributed, 46 were completed, for a response rate of 82%. More than half of the students reported having taken at least 1 elective course in diversified technique (80%), Cox technique (76%), Activator Methods (70%), or sacro-occipital technique (63%). Less than half of the respondents reported taking technique elective courses in Gonstead or Thompson techniques. More than half of the students stated they were more likely to use Activator (72%), Thompson (68%), diversified (57%), or Cox (54%) techniques in their future practice after taking an elective course in that technique. Females stated that they were more likely to use Activator Methods (p = .006) in future practice. Conclusion: Chiropractic technique elective courses in the doctor of chiropractic curriculum may influence students' choices of future practice chiropractic technique.

Objective: Surveys for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners indicate that diversified chiropractic technique is the most commonly used chiropractic manipulation method. The study objective was to investigate the influences of our diversified core technique curriculum, a technique survey course, and extracurricular technique activities on students' future practice technique preferences. Methods: We conducted an anonymous, voluntary survey of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year chiropractic students at our institution. Surveys were pretested for face validity, and data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: We had 164 students (78% response rate) participate in the survey. Diversified was the most preferred technique for future practice by students, and more than half who completed the chiropractic technique survey course reported changing their future practice technique choice as a result. The students surveyed agreed that the chiropractic technique curriculum and their experiences with chiropractic practitioners were the two greatest bases for their current practice technique preference, and that their participation in extracurricular technique clubs and seminars was less influential. Conclusions: Students appear to have the same practice technique preferences as practicing chiropractors. The chiropractic technique curriculum and the students' experience with chiropractic practitioners seem to have the greatest influence on their choice of chiropractic technique for future practice. Extracurricular activities, including technique clubs and seminars, although well attended, showed a lesser influence on students' practice technique preferences.

Specialized training helps high school students choose the right path to continue their education in the future, providing pedagogical, psychological, informational and organizational support to students. Due to the fact that new elective courses are being introduced in General education institutions, there are still not enough regulatory and reference materials. Many teachers cannot create elective courses that will be interesting and useful for students, because the school does not provide detailed information about the goals and objectives of specialized training, types and methods of its implementation. Therefore, one of the most pressing issues today is the systematization of information about elective courses and the identification of methodological features of its implementation. The article presents the program of the elective course "Cultural geography" for mathematical students. In addition, the methodological structure of the course "Cultural geography"was developed.

Universities' core project management courses address the key principles and best practices of project management methodologies, while elective courses are utilized to introduce alternative project frameworks. The concept of project complexity can be taught to strengthen competency in project managers and enhance the success of the projects they manage. Previous instruction methods were evaluated to determine the key concepts that pertain to project complexity. This article proposes a preliminary framework for the development of an elective course on project complexity.

School subjects are divided into two as compulsory and elective courses. Compulsory courses are the basic courses that students must take in order to graduate, while elective courses are the ones that students are at liberty to take. In Turkey Biology course was taught as compulsory under the name of common courses in all levels of high schools.  With the new amendment Biology is started to taught as elective under the name of “Advanced Biology” in Anatolian High Schools and “Biology Applications” in Science High Schools at grade eleven and twelve. This new development has brought to mind what the reasons are for choosing and not choosing biology. In order to reveal this aim 135 volunteered students were questioned from two different schools located in the northeastern Turkey. An open-ended question test was used for data collection. The information received from the students was subjected to content analysis. The factors that lead students to choose biology or not to choose biology are identified as future orientedness on both categories. Students want to change their decisions because of course related and exam-orientation reasons. Future studies can utilize larger samples, in terms of gender differences and in the contexts of other elective courses.

Aim. To determine the antibiotic prescribing habits for pulpal and periapical pathology among dentists in Hyderabad city, India.Methodology. A total of 246 questionnaires were distributed to all the dentists registered with the local dental branch. Demographic details and questions regarding type and dosage of antibiotics prescribed for allergic and nonallergic patients were recorded. Inferential statistics were performed, andP<0.05was considered statistically significant.Results. The response rate for the study was 87.8%. Around 148 (68.5%) of respondents regularly prescribed antibiotics for endodontic management. The first antibiotic of choice for patients with no history of medical allergies was a combination of amoxicillin and metronidazole, followed by amoxicillin alone (29.1%). The first antibiotic of choice in case of allergy to penicillin was erythromycin. Necrotic pulp with acute apical periodontitis with swelling and moderate/severe preoperative symptom was the condition most commonly identified for antibiotic therapy (92.1%).Conclusion. The present study reveals that the overall antibiotic prescribing practices among this group of dentists were quite high, and there is a need for more educational initiatives to rationalize the use of antibiotics in dentistry.

Elective course selection has always been a serious and important decision making process for students in institutions.  The study of Multi Criteria Decision Making Model (MCDM) for the selection of elective course is put together with the aim of lending a helping hand to the students. It comprises the main MCDM methods, the problem of selecting an elective course, the survey about the problem, the method which is selected to be implemented, the implementation and the results. In this study, we determine the criteria of this problem for graduate students while deciding on the elective courses. A total of 13 different criteria have been established, including 5 main criteria. In this direction, a questionnaire study was conducted as required by the multi-criteria decision-making analysis method decided in the light of the examined articles. This survey study was answered by graduate students. The responses were evaluated by the "Super Decisions" program and priorities were determined using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The survey was applied to graduate students, and it was found that the two most important criteria of the graduate students were 28.03% of the curriculum and 20.42% of the faculty members. This study aims to prove a mathematical method for a real-life situation which can help people make their decisions accurately. It will help students who are indecisive and hesitates while selecting an elective course.

Abstract – Engineering leadership programs in Canada have grown in recent years, captured by a literature that mostly documents course design and outcomes. This paper addresses a gap in understanding how courses evolve over time, and how instructors can be better supported to teach engineering leadership. Findings show detailed trajectory of elective course development, instructor profiles, results of learning outcomes mapping, and approaches to supporting a group of leadership instructors.

Тhe paper is aimed to help the inconsistency between the training of school graduates and requirements of universities for first-year students through the creation of training courses in profession-oriented classes. A variant of construction of elective courses for subject oriented classes is exemplified though the analysis of several topics from «Mathematics and Informatics». A sample program of elective course «Arithmetic and geometric progression and introduction to the theory of limits» recommended for all profiles is displayed. On the basis of these principles it is possible to develop other programs of elective courses for majoring classes on various subjects. The program contains all the necessary components, along with examples of tasks, materials for practical classes and individual work.
