The article highlights the features of distance learning and considers the features of the organization of the educational process of students of the Faculty of Physical Education of the State Pedagogical University in quarantine.Quarantine measures impose certain restrictions on the full educational process in higher education institutions and beyond. The question arose: how to provide distance learning for students from different disciplines and physical education is no exception. Therefore, the departments of the Faculty of Physical Education faced the task of more thorough preparation for conducting practical classes, trainings. Students of the Faculty of Physical Education need a special form of education, which would not be inferior to the effectiveness of traditional educational activities adopted in higher education institutions. For sports departments, which provide training for specialists in a particular sport, there is another problem - not using the capabilities of the platform for distance learning. Sports departments work with students mainly in the mode of personal cooperation without providing a distance component of academic disciplines. The article is devoted to one of the current problems of modern education, the organization of distance learning with future specialists in physical education and sports. The article considers the development and current state of distance education in higher education institutions in the process of professional training of students majoring in "Physical Culture and Sports" and "Secondary Education (Physical Education)". The conditions of the educational process using distance technology Moodle. The main advantages of distance learning for students, teachers, as well as the possibility of integrating traditional and distance learning, which generates a new form of learning – blended. The article also presents the negative aspects of using the Moodle system for effective training of future professionals in these specialties. The introduction of distance learning in the teaching of sports and pedagogical disciplines should take place in two directions: in mastering the theoretical section of the curriculum in the discipline using both traditional teaching aids and ICT. When mastering the practical section, it is advisable to use video training, lessons, learning technical elements and motor skills.Modern scientific developments convincingly demonstrate the undeniable advantages of a rational combination of traditional teaching methods with information and communication technologies. The multifaceted problem of formation of research skills in teachers of physical education and sports by means of information and communication technologies is relevant today. Therefore, a modern high school teacher must be mobile, flexible, modern, able to adequately analyze and adapt to new situations and apply existing knowledge, skills and abilities with modern information technology.

The article explores the features of modern information and communication technologies implementation in teaching technical English. The specifics of teaching foreign languages for applicants for non-linguistic specialties has its own characteristics, which should be taken into account when constructing and conducting classes. The information society poses new challenges and correspondingly new goals for teachers and applicants to higher education, the achievement of which is ensured by analyzing situational data and creating the environment that would most closely reflect the realities of the modern professional environment, which requires an appropriate level of a foreign language knowledge. It was determined that electronic learning tools act as a catalyst in mastering the material and improve the quality of the educational process. The study analyzed psychological factors that provide an extremely high level of student motivation and form the corresponding priorities in the direction of professional growth. The pedagogical ways of introducing multimedia teaching aids while studying a foreign language are described in detail as a key condition for the fundamental training of a qualified specialist, focused on meeting the needs of the modern market. It is noted that higher education institutions do not yet fully possess educational computer programs and the latest software, which is one of the most pressing problems in the digitalization of the educational process. It is proved that the effectiveness of achieving didactic goals directly depends on the chosen forms and methods of training, and the inclusion of information and communication technologies has such advantages as individualization and intensification of the educational process, an increase in the amount of independent work of the applicant, which is an important component of the Bologna process. In this regard, and with the aim of developing the communication skills of future specialists, ICTs are considered to be the primary element in the training of qualified specialists in economic fields.

In Portugal, like in most Western countries, most higher education institutions are already using elearning platforms. However, this does not mean that these institutions are now offering distance education programmes but rather that they are using these tools as content repositories to support normal f2f academic disciplines. Therefore effective e-learning adoption is still limited to episodic, non systematic, initiatives. This chapter presents the e-learning initiative of the Higher Institute of Business Science and Tourism (ISCET). This initiative is relevant, precisely because it represents a holistic and revolutionary approach. All the students of ISCET were involved and there was a provision of online environments for the entire body of subjects offered in ISCET. The evaluation of the experimental stage setup the path to a systematic approach to distance education in the institute and provided valuable clues for other institutions that want to replicate ISCET’s e-learning initiative.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to assess the status of entrepreneurship courses offered in education schools. It provides recommendations for how to address the existing challenges by developing entrepreneurship initiatives in education schools. Design/methodology/approach – A survey was circulated to the management of all education schools in Tanzania, respective entrepreneurship educators and graduates from these schools. Random sampling was used to select teachers who had graduated from education schools. Findings – The findings show that all education schools have an entrepreneurship module in the development studies course, which is mandatory for all students in first year. From 2008 to date, six education schools (31.6 per cent) have introduced stand-alone courses at undergraduate level reflecting entrepreneurship in their title and 68.4 per cent are planning to introduce entrepreneurship courses both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Although entrepreneurship educators demonstrate subject specialty, they use traditional teaching and assessment techniques. The lack of books on entrepreneurship and the large number of students were cited as the main challenges affecting their role as subject facilitators. Research limitations/implications – The study was limited to education schools in higher education institutions. Similar studies in non-business disciplines need to be conducted to establish how entrepreneurship is developed among graduates of higher education institutions. Practical implications – The study recommends that the management of all education schools should be made aware of the need to provide courses in entrepreneurship, to integrate experiential learning and innovative techniques in the teaching and assessment processes and to involve students in extra-curriculum activities. Originality/value – This is the first study to be conducted in Tanzanian higher education institutions that focuses on the teaching of entrepreneurship to education school students.

The article is devoted to the practical aspect related to the development of methodological culture of the future teachers specialised in Choreographic Art. The purpose of the article is determined by the possibility of resolving the contradiction between the need to overcome the "gap" between awareness of the importance of methodological culture of teachers to reach the top of pedagogical activity and the lack of theoretical and methodological resources for methodologization of continuous pedagogical education. The purpose of the study was to develop an experimental program enabling the development of methodological culture of future teachers-choreographers in higher education institutions and to confirm the effectiveness of its implementation in the educational process of a teacher training university. The use of theoretical (analysis of scientific, methodological, psychological and pedagogical sources) and practical (modelling, observation, analysis of students’ creative products) methods allowed us to outline the terminological and conceptual coordinates of the phenomenon under study and to present the results of the experimental work in terms of its practical application. The methodological culture of future teachers-choreographers is defined as a construct which includes knowledge in the field of pedagogical methodology; mastery of methods, tools and functionality of scientific knowledge; reflective mental activity within the coordinates of pedagogical reflection; skills to critically analyse pedagogical phenomena; a set of interiorised profession-related pedagogical, worldview-oriented and universal values which determine the development of profession-related consciousness; philosophical perspective of teaching. An experimental program (stages of work with students, teaching aids, forms of organisation) aimed at the development of methodological culture of future teachers-choreographers has been developed. The results of the implementation of the experimental program aimed at the development of methodological culture of the bachelor-course (first education level) students specialised in 014 Secondary Education (Choreography) have been highlighted.

Abstract Media use in the teaching process occurs in several forms. Information and communication technologies can be used as work equipment and teaching aids, as well as tools or curriculum units, particularly in higher education. Technological changes and new information technologies, in addition to substantive knowledge of the material, require from teachers creativity, knowledge, and the skills of the didactic design of teaching using modern multimedia tools. In Croatia, there is a lack of research aimed at assessing the initial state of computer literacy within the higher education institutions. The aim of this study was to determine the level of knowledge and digital competence of (non) teachers of higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia, to determine the frequency of application of modern technologies in teaching, and to explain the necessity of implementation of the programme Multimedia training and e-learning at teaching faculties, which leads to the application of new educational paradigms. The study was conducted on a representative sample (N=1800) of (non) teachers of higher education institutions in the Republic of Croatia among various faculties and departments in Osijek, Split and Zagreb. The results show that (non) teachers of higher education institutions of engineering and information sciences have the best digital competences, and apply modern technology in research and scientific work significantly more than (non) teachers of social sciences and humanities.
