Ice-rich glaciolacustrine sediments near Mayo, Yukon Territory, reveal a thaw unconformity in the form of truncated ice wedges and abrupt changes in cryotexture. The unconformity has been radiocarbon dated at 8870 ± 200 years BP, which is within the Holocene period of optimal climatic conditions in northern Yukon and the Mackenzie Delta area reported by other workers. Analysis of the mineralogy of the sediments indicates that the material above the unconformity is enriched in minerals that are the products of a more intense weathering environment than those deeper in the profile. Oxygen-isotope ratios of ground ice in the sediments suggest the presence of two genetically distinct ice units above and below the unconformity. An average rate of upward permafrost growth in this area of 0.1–0.2 mm year−1 is calculated for the period since the climatic optimum.

In the Kaliningrad region there are about 70 % of all polder lands in Russia. On these lands with high potential fertility, it is advisable to intensive agriculture. The area for the average moisture year is an area with excessive moisture, which indicates the need to maintain the rate of drainage on agricultural land. Many different factors play a role in ensuring the drainage rate, one of which is pumping stations and pumping equipment installed on them. An important parameter in the use of pump-power equipment is energy consumption, since in this industry it is a considerable expense item. Improving the energy efficiency of pumping stations on polders is a pressing issue today. At the majority of polder pumping stations, domestic power pumping equipment is installed with excess power and head of 4–8 meters, and a new one is selected based on the maximum possible head in a given place. In the Kaliningrad region, the energy efficiency of polder pumping equipment has never been analyzed. In this paper, a statistical processing of the geodesic pressure of water at the polder pumping stations of the Slavsk region for 2000–2002 was carried out. On the basis of these data and data on the hydraulic characteristics of pressure pipelines, the calculated water pressures were determined for the rational selection of pumping equipment. The calculation of the economic efficiency of pumps with optimal power compared with pumps of excess capacity. The results of the study can serve as a justification for the transition to the pumping equipment with less power and pressure, which will lead to a decrease in the cost of money for electricity.

Governments all over the world are paying great attention to economic innovation and the development of design in modern society. They are spending more and more recourses on making rules for Industrial Design Policy and measuring its implementation. As a method to make macroeconomic regulation and control by the government, the effectiveness and importance of design policy has already been widely admitted. In a macro-background of the three turns of Chinese design policy, taking the design policy of Guangdong province as an example, this article will analyze how local/regional government should respond to the national design policy. Based on the investigation and analysis of the winners of the "Guangdong Governor Cup Industrial Design Competition", this paper discusses how industrial design competition as a part of the design policy to support the development of industrial design. After making a comparison with the design policy of the Yangtze River Delta area, this article tries to enhance and perfect the current policy path.

The data on feeding dairy cows of an energy protein concentrate (EPC) are presented. EPC consists of grain of narrow-leaved lupine, flax, triticale, subjected to heat treatment on a press extruder. The effect of EPC on the change in milk production of cows was determined. The inclusion of extruded concentrate based on lupine grains in the diets of cows made it possible to obtain an increase in milk. Concentrate based on lupine, flax, triticale is equal in biological value to full-fat soy, and at a much lower cost.
