In this study, the production of an electromagnetic shielding material by doping reduced graphene oxide was aimed. Graphene oxide was produced from graphite through modified Hummer's method, and reduced graphene oxide was obtained by reducing graphene oxide. The reduced graphene oxide- doped poly(acrylonitrile-co-vinyl acetate) nanofiber mats were spun on the Polypropylene spunbond fabrics by a multi-needle electrospinning device at different lap numbers. Multi-layered surface samples of spunbond/nanofiber mats were obtained via calendaring process after overlapping in different layer numbers. The electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) of these samples was measured in the range of 0.03–1.5 GHz according to ASTM D4935 standard. The effects of the numbers of laps and layers on the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of the mats were also investigated. It was found that electromagnetic shielding effectiveness is greatly affected by changing the numbers of laps and layers. Consequently, the highest electromagnetic shielding effectiveness value of 35.49 dB was obtained from the sample containing two layers of nanofiber mats, each of which consisted 50 laps of nanofibers.

In this paper, a novel composite material of Acrylonitrile-Butadlene-Styrene resin (ABS)-based fabric coated with Cu/Ni-P was prepared via chemical redox plating technique. A series of such composite materials with varying thickness of Cu and Ni-P showed remarkable electromagnetic shielding ability. With the increase of Cu thickness, the shielding effect (SE) increased gradually, but leveled off after 1.5μm at a SE of about 70dB. Similarly, with the increase of the depth of Ni-P coats, the SE showed a trendency of gradual increase, and leveled off after 1.0μm at a SE of about 45dB. The optimum ABS/Cu/Ni-P was Cu 1.5μm and Ni-P 1.0μm unilaterally. The ABS/Cu/Ni-P composite material possessed excellent shielding ability in the range of 0.001-1000MHz at a stable SE of >80dB, and it also possessed ideal shielding effect in the range of >36GHz. But in the range of 10-18GHz, the shielding effect is slightly decreased gradually to about 60dB. So the ABS/Cu/Ni-P fabric composite is an ideal candidate for electromagnetic shielding material at low and high frequency radiations.

In order to obtain the electromagnetic shielding material, the lightweight flakes of poplar are selected to be the substrate. After the electroless copper plating, the flakes turn to electric cell which is made by hot-press with bicomponent epoxy, and it turn to electromagnetic shielding materials. In this paper, the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding materials is investigated. The results indicates that the reasonable ratio of main components of the electroless copper plating is: copper sulfate 80g/L, reducing agent 90 g/L, K-Na tartrate (TART) 65 g/L, EDTA•2Na100 g/L, α, α'-dipyridyl 10mg/L, potassium ferrocyanide 50 mg/L. In the testing of Hertzian waves between 9 kHz~1.5GHz, the average effectiveness of electromagnetic shielding is 60.4dB.

Abstract In this study, intumescent flame retardant coating of polyethylenimine/phytic acid (PEI/PA) with gradient structure was constructed on cotton fabric through facile layer-by-layer (LBL) assembly method. The LOI value of coated cotton fabric reached over 40% indicating excellent flame retardancy. Reasonable controlling the LBL assembly process of PEI/PA coating brought less influence to the physical properties of cotton fabrics. And the coated cotton fabric revealed good flame retardant washing durability. Thermogravimetric analysis results of coated cotton fabrics showed that PEI/PA flame retardant coating changed the thermal decomposition process and promoted char formation revealing the obviously condensed phase flame retardant action. SEM images of char residues revealed that PEI/PA flame retardant coating promoted to form the intumescent flame retardant (IFR) char layer showing obvious IFR action. This research provides novel strategy for the development of high-efficiency flame retardant cotton fabric with good durability and physical properties using simple LBL assembly method.
