Renewable energy (RE) is currently being used on a wide scale to meet the rising demand for energy, minimise pollution in environmental, and achieve sustainable social and economic benefits. This paper focuses on the design and development of EMS that can ensure the safe operation of island microgrids (MGs) in the event of possible imbalances between load demand and power generation. Energy management system (EMS) performs optimized calculations for the low priority loads that need to be shut down and the charging and discharging cycle of the batteries in the microgrid (MG). The non-linear model predictive control (NMPC) algorithm was selected to implement energy management system, which processes a data set consisting of power generation, load measurement, battery state of charge (SOC), and set of operating constraints. Energy management system was designed under assumption of installing Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in MG. Energy management system (EMS) was tested on a simulation platform that integrates a model of the microgrid (MG) component and its distributed controller (DC). The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of this method, because even when there is a fault in one of the distributed controllers, key variables such as the voltage and frequency amplitude of the microgrid (MG) will operate within a secured interval.

Nowadays, in the context of climate change, efficient energy management and increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix are helping to reduce greenhouse gases. In this research, we present the energy system and its management and the possibilities of its development through the example of an ecovillage. The basic goal of such a community is to be economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable, so the study of energy system of an ecovillage is especially justified. As the goal of this community is sustainability, potential technological and efficiency barriers to the use of renewable energy sources will also become visible. Our sample area is Visnyeszéplak ecovillage, where we examined the energy production and consumption habits and possibilities of the community with the help of interviews, literature, and map databases. By examining the spatial structure of the settlement, we examined the spatial structure of energy management. We formulated development proposals that can make the community’s energy management system more efficient.

This paper presents an energy management system supported by PI Controller for a residential grid connected micro grid with renewable hybrid generation (wind and photo voltaic) and battery system. Modeling hybrid system includes non conventional energy sources given at sporadic supply conditions and dynamic energy demand, and to make conceptual energy storage with the help of battery system . Designing  an  appropriate  scheme  that dynamically changes modes of renewable integrated system based on the availability of RES power and changes in load. Wind,PV are the primary power supply of the system; battery is going  to  be act  as  a  substitute.The  PI  controller  is developed and carried  out for the aimed hybrid(Wind and PV) energy system to integrate the non conventional energy sources to the serviceability either to grid or to Residential loads.main objective is improvement of transients during switching  periods  by  using an efficient PI controller.maximum power point tracking is also  other objective is energy management system designed for the residential grid connected Micro Grid. Simulations are carried out on the proposed Hybrid energy system using MATLAB/ SIMULINK.
