A mathematics team at DeWitt Junior High School, Ithaca, New York, recognized that although the previously developed seventh-grade curriculum was satisfactory, the individual needs of the students were not fully met by classroom presentation. This team used the existing curriculum to devise an individualized program that would (1) encourage individual progress, (2) avoid excessive imposition of hardware on the learning process, and (3) maintain and encourage teacher-pupil interaction.

This study aims to describe students' responses toward the implementation of Mindomo in writing description text at seventh-grade students in Cimahi. This study used descriptive qualitative methods. The participant of the study is 33 students’ junior high school in Cimahi. The result of this study showed that the implementation of Mindomo in teaching writing descriptive text gave positive responses to  81,80%. This positive response was shown with the enthusiasm of students during the learning process. Aspects of attention get the largest average score of around 24.54, which shows students are more interested in the learning process of writing using the Mindomo application. Besides, the aspect of confidence and satisfaction get the lowest score 12, it can be seen that the students are lack of confidence and have a fear of writing.

This study was a case study which aimed to analyze the types of questions used by an English teacher, the purposes of questions asked by the teacher, and the strategy used to cope with non-responded questions. The subject of this study was an English teacher who taught seventh grade students at SMPN 1 Singaraja which is located in Singaraja, Buleleng regency, Bali, Indonesia. The data were collected through observation, interview, and video recording. The result of the analysis showed that from 241 questions, the teacher more frequently asked convergent, closed, and display questions rather than divergent, open, and referential questions. Procedural questions were also found. The teacher’s questions served several purposes such as to check students’ knowledge and understanding, to attract students’ activeness, to develop students’ interest and curiosity, and to stimulate students in stating information. It was also found that the teacher used seven strategies to cope with non-responded questions. This study suggested the teacher to balance the number of convergent, closed, and display with divergent, open, and referential questions to be used during teaching and learning process. In addition, the teacher should know more about the strategies for non-responded questions and the proper way to use those strategies to make the teaching and learning process runs smoothly.

The objectives of this study are to find out the suitability of impressionistic and in-depth analysis in the textbook entitles "Interactive English� used for the seventh grade of Junior High School. This research is conducted by applying descriptive qualitative. The data was collected by documenting the content materials on the textbook and it was analyzed by using Cunningsworth's theory. The result showed that an English textbook entitle �Interactive English" fulfilled the criteria proposed in Cunningsworth's theory concerning the impressionistic textbook analysis with score 96% and in-depth textbook analysis with the summative score 87%. From those summative scores, the textbook was categorized as a good enough textbook and suitable enough to use as media in teaching and learning process. This study is aimed to find out the students’ responses toward the implementation of Pictionary game technique in teaching English vocabulary to the seventh-grade students. The study was conducted at SMP Dharma Kartini. The students of VII C  class that consists of 38 students were selected as the participants of the research. The research used descriptive qualitative method. The data of the research was obtained from observation during the implementation of Pictionary game in the class and from the students’ interview that has conducted to 5 students. The result showed that Pictionary game technique is useful to draw the students’ motivation in learning English vocabulary. From the data of observation showed that the Pictionary game made the students more active to get involved in teaching and learning process actively. The students also showed good responses from the data of interview, they stated that learning by using Pictionary game was fun but also challenging which make them motivate in learning English. Thus, it can be concluded that Pictionary game is an attractive technique that can be used to motivate students in learning vocabulary and make the students to learn English vocabulary in a more fun and creative way.   Keywords:  Pictionary game, Vocabulary

The purpose of this research is to find the type of grammatical error in students’ writing descriptive text made by the seventh graders of junior high school in Cimahi.The population consists of five classes, and we took 20 students to be sample. The study found out that the types of grammatical error are: Omission, Addition,Misformation and Misordering. The total of each type of error are: Omission 39.34%, Misordering 28.68%, Addition 18.03%, and Misformation 13.93%. Based on the research, it can be assumed that students usually miss to put a word like to be must appear in a well-formed sentence. And the lowest frequently of error is misformation, it is because in descriptive text there are rarely use plural words.

The 2013 Curriculum emphasizes on active learning pattern. However, based on the questionnaire spread in junior high school 18 Padang, it was gotten the result that teachers still have difficulty in implementing it, especially in affective competence of confidence. The affective competence of confidence will encourage students to be active in learning process, both in asking questions and expressing opinion. In cooperative learning, students are provided a vehicle to increase their confidence through presenting their discussion result in front of the class. By considering this issue, there is an alternative solution that can be used by teacher, which is example non example method. This method is one of cooperative learning method. Besides that, it can support the implementation of scientific approach and discovery learning model in learning process. The scientific approach and discovery learning model are the approach and model recommended in the 2013 Curriculum. Purpose of the research was to know effect of example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model on students' affective competence. It was a quasi-experimental research. It was done in junior high school 18 Padang to grade VII students. The instrument used was written test in form of multiple-choice and essay. Technique of data analysis used Mann Whitney U test. It was done by using SPSS software. The finding shows that example non example method in scientific approach and discovery learning model has significant effect on students' affective competence, with sig. value (0.036) < 0.05.

This research aims at designing a learning media which named LEEF (Learning English Easy and Fun) as English learning media for seventh grade students of Junior High School. This learning media consists of some materials and exercises which is appropriate and feasible to be studied for students. All materials in this media are based on junior high school syllabus of K13 curriculum. The research method used in this research is Research and Development. This development used ADDIE model which have several steps, those are; 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development, 4) Implementation, and 5) Evaluation. The result of this research shows that from the media validation result got 4.00 score it was in “fair and worth to use” category, and the material validation got 3.86 score. The students’ responses of try out result score 4.26 were in “fair and worth to use” category. By having those result, this LEEF (Learning English Easy and Fun) is feasible to be used as a learning media for seventh grade students of junior high school. Furthermore this research can be used as reference to other researchers in developing English learning media in different level of students.

The development of a teaching material must be based on the analysis of student needs. Development of teaching materials have to be able to answer or solve problems or difficulties in learning. This study aims to know the development of writing folk poetry teaching material according to the materials expert team with copy the master technique for seventh grade student of junior high school 1 Rantau Selatan, in Labuhan Batu District. This study was conducted by using Probability Sampling technique. The result shows that all teachers and students need modules in the learning process. Teaching material products developed in folk poetry writing materials with copy the master learning technique for seventh grade students of junior high school 1 Rantau Selatan meet the requirements and are appropriate to use based on the validation of material experts and design experts.
