If there were no problems in the teaching of mathematics; if all methods of procedure had been perfectly worked out; if all desirable applications of mathematics were known; if all teachers had been chosen with the greatest skill and had become accomplished artists; if all children had been created with a uniform mental, emotional, moral, and social pattern; if the relative importance of all school subjects had been exactly determined; if the world in which mathematics is used would remain static, then there would be little need of a National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and Reports would be undesired luxuries.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the scientific and philosophical thought development, which served as a challenge to the renewal of the content of environmental education at the beginning of the XXI century. The analysis of the stages of domestic environmental education development, its content from the point of view of reflection in it of relations between society and nature is carried out. A new stage in the environmental education development in the 21st century is associated with the spread of ideas of sustainable development, which determine the transformation of all spheres of human culture. The article provides examples of tasks that currently exist in the educational literature for one of the primary school subjects, and a variant of their change from the standpoint of environmental education in the interests of sustainable development is proposed. The modern literature on the methodology of teaching the subject “The World Around” in primary school is considered from the point of view of the representation of the content of environmental education in it. The author comes to the conclusion about the insufficiency of the natural science orientation of environmental education for the formation of students’ ideas about the environmental imperative – a key category for understanding the conditions for harmonizing nature, society and the world of things. Based on the analysis performed, a conclusion was made about the relevance of updating the content of school environmental education. It is substantiated that this will contribute to the achievement of its planned result – the formation of a modern ecological culture among students. <h1>Theoretical research on curriculum development and implementation has been a rich and highly diverse field of study in the second half of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st , including Estonia, but the selection of educational content for general comprehensive schools has not been a priority. Some reasons for difficulties with regard to making informed decisions about the selection of the content can be found in the constantly growing amount of new knowledge, global developments and in cultural differences within and between societies. The acknowledged political goal for organising general education for the majority of countries in Europe (and all over the world) has been the development of a cohesive and sustainable society, which can be built on acknowledged and accepted common values. Research on the potential of school subjects can contribute to that and open new vistas for development of national curricula.</h1>

This article examines the essence of the research abilities of students formed in elective classes in biology as a category and factor of personal development. The content of the curriculum in biology is also considered, and activities aimed at achieving learning goals that are related to the development of skills are included. In modern secondary education of Kazakhstan, modernization processes successfully implemented in recent years, is carried out with the aim of its integration into the world educational space and approximation to international educational standards on the approval of standard rules of activity by types of general education organizations for the purposeful formation of research skills of students, which is determined at the legislative level "Research competence in the classification of A.V. Khutorsky is considered as an integral part of cognitive competence, which includes elements of methodological, supra-subject, logical activities, methods of organizing goal-setting, planning, analysis, reflection.

The process of socialisation and integration represents unity, and at the same time – a continuous controversy between two aspects: socialisation and individuality. Due to this, the process is a single upside stream – the entry of a child into the world of adults, in the social world. Every child is a unique personality with its individual qualities, interests, abilities and educational needs. Every child with special educational needs has the right to be taught on an individual schedule with content, matching its own necessities and capacity. The general education kindergarten, in which the authors work and teach pupils with special educational needs has established a tolerant community and guarantees schooling, tutoring and mentorship for everybody.

At this moment in time, which is marked by extremely negative human influences on the environment, and when a sustainable development of nature is needed, school has a significant role in developing students? knowledge, skills and attitudes towards natural sciences. In European countries, students gain biological knowledge during primary school either through integrated or specific subjects. This paper contains the results of a comparative analysis of the biological content in teaching programs and curricula in three European countries - Serbia, Finland and England. In Serbia, biological contents are included in two integrated subjects (The World Around Us and Nature and Society) during the first cycle of compulsory education, while during the second cycle they are included in a separate subject - biology - and are linearly arranged. Throughout compulsory education in Finland and England, biological contents are concentrically arranged and are realized through the students? research work in their surroundings in several school subjects.

Abstract. During the last fifty years ecology has matured as a scientific discipline. In this paper I analyse the temporal development of the paradigm based on physical systems (the ecosystem paradigm), and the evolutionary ecology paradigm. I first analyse the contents of 61 textbooks to calculate the relative importance of ecosystem and evolutionary ecology in the training of new generations of ecologists. Results indicate that the evolutionary approach is becoming more important since 1980, and now most textbooks dedicate 10–20% of their pages to evolutionary concepts. In a second analysis I searched the names of ecology departments in universities around the world, and found out conspicuous differences between USA, where 43% of addresses associate ecology and evolution or behaviour on the same department, and Europe, where only 10% of ecology departments also include a reference to evolution or behaviour in their name. In both analyses Spain seems to follow only the ecosystem paradigm, because Spanish textbooks dedicate almost no pages to evolutionary concepts, and there is not a single university department that includes ecology and evolution. A further bibliometric study confirmed that Spanish ecologists prefer to publish their research in general ecology journals, and are under-represented in evolutionary ecology journals. I discuss the importance of historical factors on the development of paradigms of ecology, and the special case of Spain, likely due to the influence of pioneers working in oceanography, limnology and geography.

The humanitarian potential of school mathematics and natural science disciplines for the education of a person who has a unified representation of the modern picture of the world, its scope and content require more and more study. The humanities-oriented teaching of mathematics and natural sciences at school is implemented in the learning process within the framework of traditional academic disciplines and has the full means for the comprehensive and harmonious development of the student's personality. The use of components of literature, language, history of the native land in the implementation of programs of mathematical, natural science education contributes to the development of interest in learning, the formation of personal values of students. Cognitive interest is created and maintained through the design of problem situations in the classroom, through the development of the ability to solve, develop plot problems that form functional (mathematical and natural science) literacy. The combination of natural science and humanitarian approaches in the representation and assessment of the world in the process of mastering the content of educational disciplines will spiritually enrich every student.

Robot rehabilitasi pasien pasca stroke saat ini telah dikembangkan oleh negara-negara maju di dunia, tidak terkecuali Indonesia meskipun sebagai negara berkembang. Salah satu pengembang robot rehabilitasi pasien pasca stroke itu berada di Universitas Gadjah Mada yang telah melakukan penelitian beberapa tahun ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kepentingan relatif konsumen terhadap robot rehabilitasi pasien pasca stroke untuk kemudian digunakan sebagai bahan masukan dalam pengembangan robot selanjutnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Conjoint Analysis. Metode ini memiliki keunggulan dalam menganalisis trade off antar atribut. Dari hasil pengolahan Conjoint Analysis dengan bantuan program SPSS, dapat diketahui bahwa kebutuhan konsumen paling tinggi terhadap robot rehabilitasi pasien stroke adalah  dapat dipasangkan ke tangan pasien dengan mudah, baru setelah itu kemampuannya untuk dipakai di kedua tangan (kanan dan kiri) dan material yang digunakan dalam pembuatan robot haruslah aman bagi pasien.AbstractPost-stroke rehabilitation robot has been developed in the world, including Indonesia as a developing country. One of this robot developers is Universitas Gadjah Mada who has conducted research for post stroke rehabilitation robot in recent years. This study aims to identify the consumer’s relative importance of the  post-stroke rehabilitation robot that can be used for the next robot development. The method used in this study is Conjoint Analysis. This method has the advantage in analyzing trade-offs between attributes. From this research, we have known that the highest rank of the robot consumer needs are: can be attached to the patient's hand with ease, the ability to be used in both hands (right and left) and the movement of the robot which can be varied according to the needs of the patient.

The practices of vocal music described in this chapter reflect major differences in cultural thinking, comparing those of non-literate societies with that of the West. The rise of vocally based noise music in popular entertainment is discussed as an example of an ersatz form of cultural behavior. The relative importance of acoustic analysis and socio-cultural contexts in the explanation of vocal practices is discussed. It cannot be claimed that a more sophisticated science or mathematics has produced a more powerful or efficient mode of vocal expression. Each cultural system and set of vocal practices has its own integrity and its own relevance to understanding the human condition, and it is only by studying the different vocal practices from within such contexts that their value to humanity as a whole can be appreciated.
