This paper examines the application of strategic planning in Serbia. The research focus is on the definition of strategic goals and on the selection of strategic priorities. In order to meet goals, each strategy defines appropriate action plans for its implementation. Action plans thoroughly define activities, measures and projects, activity-bearers, implementation deadlines, success indicators, funds, financing sources, legal and institutional framework. Paper investigates the current practice of strategic documents implementation. Further, issues with monitoring, reporting and evaluation are examined. Finally, recommendations have been made for more transparent and efficient management, aiming to improve the allocation of budgetary and non-budgetary funds.

Strategic goals of stable development of territories of all levels at the expense of producing competitive goods and increase in export potential of regional producers, as well as the need to improve quality of life, have justified the necessity of using effective technologies for territory branding, which, in turn, requires theoretic solution of some scientific problems in terminological and instrumental areas of knowledge. Current problems of the regional branding as the branding of special areas have got less attention than national and regional branding, which has led to the lack of common concepts and continuation of terminological discussions, and also searching for universal model of the regional branding. Researches done by the specialists in this area have allowed us to know their views on the definition of the term “regional branding” in relation to the need to develop structural models of brands (different for different regions), to consider commodity brands as preferrable constituent parts of regional brands, to develop integrated model of consumer values which form preferences in selection of food products of well-known brands and brands of local producers. In the conclusion of the present work there is a list of problems to be solved in future studies through interdisciplinary approaches

This article aims at discussing the link between project management discipline and strategic planning by applying the methodology of strategic management. Currently, some organizations need to turn project management into a competitive advantage, which are generally reached when aligning them with organizational strategy. Consequently, it is important to make sure that strategic planning stages are clearly aligned with the methodology of project management. Therefore, the analysis, formulation, implementation and definition of the strategic goals have to meet practicability. Some basic concepts of strategic management and the analysis of the project management focus are discussed, referring to PMBoK of the Project Management Institute (PMI) theoretical framework which guarantees a competitive advantage for these organizations. This methodology is known as Integral Management of Strategic Projects

Introduction. At the current stage of reforming the Ukrainian economy, it is important to increase the level of competitiveness of domestic business entities. One of the ways to achieve this is the transition to the strategic basis of planning and running of economic activity, in particular investment activity. Important in this case is the choice of a system for assessing the level of achievement of certain strategic goals. Therefore, the purpose of writing an article is to determine with a system for evaluating the effectiveness of strategic planning of investment activities of business entities. Methods. According to the theoretical basis of the article, the dialectical method of cognition and the systematic method for studying the issues of strategic planning of investment activity of agricultural entities were used. The main research methods in the article were methods of analysis, synthesis and generalization. Using the analysis method, the components of the system for evaluating the effectiveness of strategic planning of investment activity are analyzed. Using the synthesis method, significant elements of a performance evaluation system are determined. The generalization method was used to form the conclusions of the study. Results. The expediency of strengthening the competitive position of agricultural entities by proving a strategic approach with the definition of strategic development goals and ensuring their achievement and strategic goals of investment activity has been proved. The author has formed a definition of the concept of “the effectiveness of strategic planning of investment activity”. The essential components of the system for evaluating the effectiveness of strategic planning of investment activity: the main and additional indicators. The attention of business entities was emphasized on the importance of flexible application of a system for evaluating the effectiveness of strategic planning of investment activity, taking into account the specialization of their economic activity, the level of material and technical support, the ratio of investment sources, the influence of environmental factors and certain development goals. The results of the study can be used in the process of evaluating the effectiveness of strategies and strategic plans for investment activity at the economic, regional and national levels. Discussion. Prospects for further research are to work out the consistency of the positions of strategic plans for investment activities with certain positions of strategic plans for economic activities of business entities. Keywords: efficiency, economic efficiency, profitability, business activity, liquidity, financial stability.

The importance of examining stained 1 to 2μ plastic sections by light microscopy has long been recognized, both for increased definition of many histologic features and for selection of specimen samples to be used in ultrastructural studies. Selection of specimens with specific orien ation relative to anatomical structures becomes of critical importance in ultrastructural investigations of organs such as the lung. The uantity of blocks necessary to locate special areas of interest by random sampling is large, however, and the method is lacking in precision. Several methods have been described for selection of specific areas for electron microscopy using light microscopic evaluation of paraffin, epoxy-infiltrated, or epoxy-embedded large blocks from which thick sections were cut. Selected areas from these thick sections were subsequently removed and re-embedded or attached to blank precasted blocks and resectioned for transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

AbstractThis systematic review aimed to contribute to a better and more focused understanding of the link between the concept of resilience and psychosocial interventions in the migrant population. The research questions concerned the type of population involved, definition of resilience, methodological choices and which intervention programmes were targeted at migrants. In the 90 articles included, an heterogeneity in defining resilience or not well specified definition resulted. Different migratory experiences were not adequately considered in the selection of participants. Few resilience interventions on migrants were resulted. A lack of procedure’s descriptions that keep in account specific migrants’ life-experiences and efficacy’s measures were highlighted.

Abstract Antimicrobial resistance is one of the major challenges of our time. Countries use national action plans as a mechanism to build engagement among stakeholders and coordinate a range of actions across human, animal, and environmental health. However, implementation of recommended policies such as stewardship of antimicrobials, infection prevention and control, and stimulating research and development of novel antimicrobials and alternatives remains inconsistent. Improving the quality of governance within antimicrobial resistance national action plans is an essential step to improving implementation. To date, no systematic approach to governance of national action plans on AMR exists. To address this issue, we aimed to develop the first governance framework to offer guidance for both the development and assessment of national action plans on AMR. We reviewed health system governance framework reviews to inform the basic structure of our framework, international guidance documents from WHO, the Food and Agriculture Organization, the World Organisation for Animal Health, and the European Commission, and sought the input of 25 experts from international organisations, government ministries, policy institutes, and academic institutions to develop and refine our framework. The framework consists of 18 domains with 52 indicators that are contained within three governance areas: policy design, implementation tools, and monitoring and evaluation. Countries must engage with a cyclical process of continuous design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation to achieve these aims.

Promoting hope was identified in our prior work as the top priority research question among patients and caregivers with diverse childhood-onset chronic conditions. Here, we aimed to construct a conceptual model to guide future research studies of interventions to improve hope. We conducted eight monthly virtual focus groups and one virtual workshop with patients, caregivers, and researchers to explore key constructs to inform the model. Discussions were facilitated by Patient Co-Investigators. Participants developed a definition of hope and identified promotors and inhibitors that influence the experience of hope. We utilized qualitative methods to analyze findings and organize the promotors and inhibitors of hope within three strata of the socio-ecologic framework: structural, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. Participants identified three types of interventions to promote hope: resources, navigation, and activities to promote social connection. The hope conceptual model can be used to inform the selection of interventions to assess in future research studies aimed at improving hope and the specification of outcome measures to include in hope research studies. Inclusion of the health care system in the model provides direction for identifying strategies for improving the system and places responsibility on the system to do better to promote hope among young patients with chronic illness and their caregivers.

A key point in achieving accurate intact glycopeptide identification is the definition of the glycan composition file that is used to match experimental with theoretical masses by a glycoproteomics search engine. At present, these files are mainly built from searching the literature and/or querying data sources focused on posttranslational modifications. Most glycoproteomics search engines include a default composition file that is readily used when processing MS data. We introduce here a glycan composition visualizing and comparative tool associated with the GlyConnect database and called GlyConnect Compozitor. It offers a web interface through which the database can be queried to bring out contextual information relative to a set of glycan compositions. The tool takes advantage of compositions being related to one another through shared monosaccharide counts and outputs interactive graphs summarizing information searched in the database. These results provide a guide for selecting or deselecting compositions in a file in order to reflect the context of a study as closely as possible. They also confirm the consistency of a set of compositions based on the content of the GlyConnect database. As part of the tool collection of the Glycomics@ExPASy initiative, Compozitor is hosted at https://glyconnect.expasy.org/compozitor/ where it can be run as a web application. It is also directly accessible from the GlyConnect database.

This paper is the second part of a two-part paper which introduces a general schema theory for genetic programming (GP) with subtree-swapping crossover (Part I (Poli and McPhee, 2003)). Like other recent GP schema theory results, the theory gives an exact formulation (rather than a lower bound) for the expected number of instances of a schema at the next generation. The theory is based on a Cartesian node reference system, introduced in Part I, and on the notion of a variable-arity hyperschema, introduced here, which generalises previous definitions of a schema. The theory includes two main theorems describing the propagation of GP schemata: a microscopic and a macroscopic schema theorem. The microscopic version is applicable to crossover operators which replace a subtree in one parent with a subtree from the other parent to produce the offspring. Therefore, this theorem is applicable to Koza's GP crossover with and without uniform selection of the crossover points, as well as one-point crossover, size-fair crossover, strongly-typed GP crossover, context-preserving crossover and many others. The macroscopic version is applicable to crossover operators in which the probability of selecting any two crossover points in the parents depends only on the parents' size and shape. In the paper we provide examples, we show how the theory can be specialised to specific crossover operators and we illustrate how it can be used to derive other general results. These include an exact definition of effective fitness and a size-evolution equation for GP with subtree-swapping crossover.
