Saving is one of the preeminent integral of economic growth. The desideratum of this study is to investigate the determinants of national saving in four West African countries, namely, Ghana, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Cote d’ Ivoire. The study uses annual data from the World Bank database for the period 1997-2016. The Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test, Cumulative sum of residuals (CUSUM) test, and autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bounds test were used to examine the stationarity, stability, and cointegration of the variables respectively. ARDF model analysis was carried out to determine the short run and long run determinants of national saving in the studied countries. The long run results reveal that gross domestic product, per capita income and real interest rate has a statistically and significant positive effect on gross savings, were as age dependency ratio has a statistical, and insignificant negative relationship with gross saving. The short run results suggest that gross domestic product and per capita income possesses positive statistical significant effects on gross national savings.It is recommended that, in other to promote saving, growth and development, pragmatic and realistic economic policies should be formulated to strengthen all monetary and financial institutions in the respective countries.

Hal ini dikarenakan output dari industri kreatif berupa produk ataupun pemanfaatan daya kreasi dan daya cipta individu yang semakin variatif dan berkembang. Untuk bisa melakukan penentuan kompetensi inti maka dilakukan pemetaan industri kreatif terlebih dahulu. Kajian dalam penelitian ini berupa pemetaan industri kreatif beserta penentuan kompetensi inti industri kreatif Kabupaten Bangkalan berdasarkan multi-kriteria pada variabel produk domestik bruto (PDB), jumlah ketenagakerjaan, perdagangan internasional dan jumlah perusahaan. Metode yang digunakan berupa integrasi Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) dan metode perankingan Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE). Hasil yang didapatkan dari pemetaan industri kreatif di Bangkalan terdiri dari subsektor pasar seni dan barang antik, kerajinan, desain fesyen, video/film dan fotografi serta penerbitan dan percetakan. Sedangkan subsektor kerajinan dipilih sebagai kompetensi inti yang diunggulkan.Kata kunci: industri kreatif, kompetensi inti daerah, MCDM, AHP, PROMETHEEABSTRACTDetermining core competence for creative industry which is characterized by utilizing creativity, skill and individual talent is the crucial selection process. It is because the output of creative industry as well as products and utilization of creativity are rapidly developed. This research discusses about mapping creative industry and determining core competence for creative industry in Bangkalan district based on the variable of gross domestic product, number of worker, international trade and number of firm. The method adopted for core competence determination is an integrated Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE). The result of mapping creative industry shows that art, craft, design, video or film and publishing are included in it. Meanwhile craft subsector is determined as a core competence that is focused in Bangkalan district.Keywords: creative industry, core competence, MCDM, AHP, PROMETHEE

Abstract Economic integration among countries could be beneficial to trading partners if properly handled through appropriate regulation of production, distribution, and consumption. However, it appears developing countries often do not benefit from their relations with other countries at advanced stages of developed. It is in view of this that this research was conducted with concentration on West Africa. Panel Cointegration techniques including Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares, Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares and Dumitrescu-Hurlin Panel Causality Test were applied using time series on Gross Domestic Product, Exports, Imports and Foreign Direct Investment of eight West African countries from 1960 – 2019. while a positive and significant long run causal relationship was found between Exports, Imports as aspects of globalisation and Gross Domestic Product, there was an observed negative long run relationship between Foreign Direct Investment and Gross Domestic Product. Export promotion, hight import tariffs, the local content initiative, liberal migration policies and strong regulatory machinery were recommended.JEL Codes: FGHO

Jordan is affected by an increase in the ratio of public debt to a percentage of GDP. The increase rate has reached 85.8% (Jordan’s central bank in numbers). And this is a serious indicator that affects the economic conditions and living standards. The study dealt with the final private consumption and the factors affecting it. The first factor is the gross domestic product (GDP), and it is a reverse view of influence, consumption is one of the components of GDP through spending, which is influential and influenced by it, the second factor was the demographic effect, and the study took the number of workers as part of the demographic factor and the third factor is the level of prices. The study took the rate of inflation. In cases of inflation and high prices, the state resorted to reducing public spending and increasing taxes to reduce actual demand (Hardan, Tahir 1997).The study was from 2006 to 2016 as a sufficient period for measurement and the availability of accurate data. The study found that there is a relationship between the first and second variable and denied the relationship to the third variable, due to price fluctuations in the study period and one of the most important recommendations was to replace local labor with foreign labor.

Takaful is an Islamic concept of modern insurance. It is based on cooperation and mutual understanding. Takaful has a significant position in the financial market. Conventional insurance has also opened the window for takaful in the Middle East and African countries. Takaful is considered one of the lucrative industries in the financial market. Several aspects of Takaful were explained in various books and monographs. There are numerous benefits of Takaful studied in various research, but takaful has some significant aspects in Macroeconomics literature. It helps to grow the economy by enhancing the productivity and economic security. The paper aims to analyse theoretically the impact of Islamic insurance on production, consumption and investment to study the impact of Takaful on Gross Domestic Product of economy.
