Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. and Gliricidia sepium (Jacq.) Kunth ex Walp. are species of the leguminosae group which are promoted in agroforestry. This study aimed at assessing the quality of leafy biomass composts of these two species in order to use them as green manure. For this, composts based on leafy biomasses of Albizia lebbeck and Gliricidia sepium have been characterized. The phytotoxicity tests of the composts was carried out using a germination test of Zea mays (L) and Arachis hypogaea (L). The effect of composts on the growth of Adansonia digitata L. and Sclerocarya birrea (A.Rich.) Hochst. subsp. Also evaluated. Comparison of means tests and repeated measures ANOVA were used to compare types of composts. The results show that these composts were not toxic. The average carbon, nitrogen, pHe and C / N ratios of the composts of Albizia lebbeck and Gliricidia sepium were in accordance with international standards. The effect of Gliricidia sepium compost on the growth of Adansonia digitata and Sclerocarya birrea was better than that of Albizia lebbeck and cow dung (P <0.05). The compost from the leafy biomass of Gliricidia sepium is of very good quality while that of Albizia lebbeck is of fairly good quality. The biomasses of these two species therefore constitute good material for composting. These results can be used to improve crop production in agroforestry. Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. et Gliricidia sepium (Jacq.) Kunth ex Walp. sont des espèces de légumineuses promues dans l’agroforesterie. Cette étude visait à évaluer la qualité des composts de biomasses feuillées de ces deux espèces afin de les utiliser comme engrais verts. Pour cela des composts à base de biomasses feuillées de Albizia lebbeck, de Gliricidia sepium ont été caractérisés. La phyto-toxicité des composts a été évaluée à l’aide d’un test de germination de Zea mays (L) et Arachis hypogaea (L). L’effet des composts sur la croissance de Adansonia digitata L. et Sclerocarya birrea (A.Rich.) Hochst.subsp. a également été évalué. Des tests de comparaisons de moyennes et une ANOVA à mesures répétées ont permis de comparer les types de composts. Les résultats montrent que les composts évalués n’étaient pas toxiques. Les teneurs moyennes en carbone, en azote, les pHe et les rapports C/N des composts de Albizia lebbeck et de Gliricidia sepium étaient conformes aux normes internationales. L’effet du compost de biomasse de Gliricidia sepium sur la croissance de Adansonia digitata et de Sclerocarya birrea était mieux que celui de Albizia lebbeck et la bouse de vache (P< 0,05). Le compost de biomasses feuillées de Gliricidia sepium est de très bonne qualité tandis que celui de Albizia lebbeck est d’assez bonne qualité. Les biomasses de ces deux légumineuses constituent donc un bon matériel pour le compostage. Ces résultats peuvent servir à améliorer la production végétale en agroforesterie.

Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(1): 41-49.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the application effects of three different compound fertilizers on yield, and assess the income increase at different rates of compound fertilizers. Three compound fertilizers namely NPK 14-0-46, NPK 19-9-19 and NPK 11-11-11 was conducted at three different farmers’ field in Langkat District, North Sumatra Province under upland conditions. In each farmers’ field, a Randomized Complete Block Design was applied with four replications per treatment.  Seven treatments tested consisted of full rate of farmer fertilizer practice and six rates of each compound fertilizer plus half rate of farmer fertilizer practice. In each of compound fertilizer tested, pod yield and seed yield increased quadratically as increasing compound fertilizer rates. The highest pod yield and seed yield of peanut were 1649 kg/ha and 1072 kg/ha, respectively with half rate of FFP + 200 kg of NPK 14-0-46. For compound fertilizer NPK 19-9-19 the highest pod yield and seed yield were 1632 kg/ha and 1032 kg/ha with half rate of FFP + 500 kg of NPK 19-9-19 while for compound fertilizer NPK 11-11-11 the highest pod yield seed yield were 1421 kg/ha and 930 kg/ha with half rate of FFP + 250 kg of NPK 11-11-11. However, adding each  half rate of farmer fertilizer practices with  200 kg of NPK 14-0-46 or 300 kg of NPK 19-9-19 or 250 kg of NPK 11-11-11 with HypoMa-1 cultivar gave the highest values of the benefit for the farmers under upland soil in Langkat, North Sumatra.

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo estudar e validar a aplicação de defensivos através de RPAs (Aeronave Remotamente Pilotadas), comumente denominadas de Drones. O experimento foi realizado na APTA Centro Leste no município do Ribeirão Preto, SP. Foi utilizado a: solução de herbicida glifosate 1.5 kg ha-1 (Roundup WG®) utilizando 15 L ha-1 de volume de calda. O RPA que sobrevoou a área de estudo em três diferentes altitudes, juntamente com três diferentes modelos de bicos pulverizadores em uma faixa compreendida de 50 m x 5 m, sendo que nessas faixas foram distribuídos papéis sensíveis à água, para verificar o tamanho, quantidade e distribuição de gotas que caíram sobre as plantas. Uma vez contabilizadas as informações, esperou-se que fosse possível criar diferentes modelos de aplicações, levando a uma maior eficiência e eficácia das aplicações. Além disso, evitar desperdício de defensivo, contribuindo para diminuição dos impactos ambientais e aumento da segurança no campo (menor risco de intoxicações). Os resultados permitiram identificar vantagens competitivas, com destaque para a praticidade e rapidez, além de permitir controle localizado de plantas daninhas, sem a necessidade de uso de tratores, o qual aumenta compactação do solo e requer maior investimento em equipamentos. A partir destes resultados, serão estabelecidos protocolos de utilização para diversas culturas agrícolas, tais como: Amendoim (Arachis hypogaea L.), Cana-de-açúcar (Saccharum officinarum L.), Soja (Glycine max L.), Milho (Zea mays).

Penerapan metode dan sistem usahatani konservasi merupakan salah satu solusi yang dapat diterapkan untuk pertanian dan keberlanjutannya oleh petani di pedesaan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji penerapan metode-metode konservasi tanah dan air oleh petani pedesaan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Tolangohula, Kabupaten Gorontalo. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survei, dengan teknik snowball sampling melalui key informan. Data dianalisis dengan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode KTA yang diterapkan yaitu teras bangku dan agroforestri. Teras bangku yang diterapkan adalah teras irigasi dengan ketinggian lereng ± 20%. Lebih lanjut pola kombinasi agroforestri diterapkan adalah mixed cropping dan alternate rows dengan pemilihan jenis tanaman pagar yakni Leucaena leucocephala, Gliricidia sepium, jenis tanaman perkebunan yakni Theobroma cacao, Cocos nucifera, jenis tanaman pangan yaitu Arachis hypogaea L., Zea mays, Manihot utilissima, dan jenis tanaman hortikultura yaitu Curcuma sp., Musa paradisiaca, Capcisum sp. Penerapan metode ini memberikan dampak positif pada pertanian perdesaan dalam menyikapi keberlanjutan ekonomi, sosial-budaya dan lingkungan.

Se realizó análisis de crecimiento en maíz (Zea mays L.) y maní (Arachis hypogaea L.) en suelo aluvial de Selva Baja de Iquitos, Perú. La máxima altura de plantas fue en maíz 282 cm. y maní 94 cm. El mayor número de hojas fue de 15 y 94 respectivamente. El peso Seco por planta en maíz estuvo comprendido de 0, 11 a 217,90 g.; en maní de 0,32 a 53,50 g.Los valores superiores encontrados de ciertos índices en maíz y maní, se expone a continuación: área foliar 169,67 y 32,11 dm2 de hoja; índice de área foliar óptima 5,59 y 3,71; índice de crecimiento absoluto 79,08 y 7,68 g.sem-1; índice de crecimiento del cultivo 439,33 y 96,00 g.m-2 de suelo. sem-1; indice de crecimiento relativo para ambas especies fue de 1,12 g.g.-1.sem-1; índice de asimilación neta 234 y 76 g.m-2 hoja. sem-2; cociente de área foliar 310 y 198 cm2 de hoja. g-1 y duración del área foliar 1,93 y 0,44 m2 de hoja. sem-1; correspondientemente.Se obtuvo índices de cosecha de 36% y 25% en maíz y maní respectivamente; eficiencias fotosintéticas medias de 1,27% y 0,75%; además eficiencias foliares medias de 0,59 y 0,67 g.dm-2 de hoja, en las especies estudiadas.
