Different species of wild potatoes are distributed in highlands and inter-Andean valleys of Bolivia. In recent years, potato virus’s incidence has been reported in native and modern varieties of Andean areas of Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, which could also affect wild potatoes. The main of the present investigation was to identify potato viruses using DAS ELISA in wild potatoes species, from isolated collection places and intensive potato cultivation places in the Bolivian Andean region. Folioles samples from different wild potato species were collected considering isolated distribution areas and potato cultivation intensity areas. The samples were analysed using DAS ELISA for PRX, PVY, PLRV, APLV and APMoV viruses. The results show that in the high Andean zones and inter-Andean valleys some species are contaminated with PVX, PVY and PLRV viruses and not with APLV and APMoV. In the high Andean areas with intensive potato cultivation S. acaule is contaminated with PVX and S. megistacrolobum with PVY and PLRV; however, in the inter-Andean valley areas with intensive potato cultivation, S. brevicaule is contaminated with PVY and S. berthaultii with PVY and PLRV. In isolated or remote areas S. capsicibaccatum, S. microdontum and Solanum spp. they are not contaminated with any analysed viruses.

Species of the genus Solanum usually possess pedicels with a floral abscission zone, which is designated the "articulation" or "joint." A distinct group of tuber-bearing wild potatoes, series Acaulia, is characterized by an indistinct or completely absent articulation. The anatomy of pedicels without articulation is compared with that of articulated pedicels. No abscission zone is observed in pedicels without an articulation, a situation found in the tetraploids Solanum acaule Bitter ssp. acaule and S. acaule ssp. punae (Juz.) Hawkes & Hjert. The hexaploids Solanum albicans (Ochoa) Ochoa and S. acaule ssp. palmirense Kardolus of series Acaulia have an anatomically incompletely differentiated abscission zone. Solanum acaule ssp. aemulans (Bitter & Wittm.) Hawkes & Hjert. (2n = 48) has articulated pedicels and a floral abscission zone. The absence of a floral abscission zone is presumably a recessive trait. The special features of pedicel articulation in series Acaulia are discussed in relation to the "jointless" mutations in tomato. The position of the articulation on the pedicel is concluded to be less significant for taxonomy than generally considered.Key words: Solanaceae, Solanum acaule, anatomy, "jointless" mutation, pedicel articulation, taxonomy.

There is extensive research of the Ephemeroptera communities taxonomy and ecology in the Andean region of Colombia. However, other regions such as the Orinoquia have been insufficiently studied. From this region, in the Meta department, four species have been registered: Varipes lasiobrachius Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty, Coryphorus aquilus Peters, Miroculis (Atroari) colombiensis Savage & Peters and Tricorythopsis rondoniensis (Dias, Cruz & Ferreira). The main objective of this study is to report for the first time for this region the species: Mayobaetis ellenae (Mayo), Hydrosmylodon primanus (Eaton), Haplohyphes baritu Domínguez, Camelobaetidus edmundsi Dominique, Mathuriau & Thomas and Nanomis galera Lugo-Ortiz & McCafferty.
