The OA-10B dam is one of the earth structures of the EOL (Eastmain – Opinaca – La Grande) project within the "La Grande" hydroelectric complex at James Bay, in the northwest of Quebec. Three rivers, the Eastmain, Petit Opinaca, and Opinaca, were diverted to the La Grande River to increase the hydropotential of the LG-2 power plant. Dam OA-10B, 25 m high, has a zoned section with an impervious moraine central core, and rests mainly on overburden foundations consisting of heterogeneous deposits of glacial till. The paper describes the different construction phases of the dam with emphasis on foundation treatments. Key words: construction, core trench, dam, dewatering, excavation, foundation, glacial till, instrumentation, moraine, treatment.

Currently, industrial waste is an important issue since it is associated to global warming. Glass is used in such kinds of products as perfume and beverage bottles and lamps. Glass is preferred due to its advantage of transparency. However, glass also has disadvantage of fracture. More importantly, glass is non-biodegradable substance and therefore it contaminates the earth. Thus, besides plastic waste, glass waste is a serious issue and deserves comprehensive treatment to prevent natural sustainability. It takes one billion years to have the glass degradable naturally,The researcher is interested in researching glass waste. It is expected that the study will contribute to solve the problem of natural balance. Glass waste is an alternative for ceramic glazing. This study employs experimental method with scientifically accountable structured and recorded exploration of data through experiments of glass waste for effective and efficient glazing material. It is expected that this research will contribute to the development of science among traditional ceramic artisans and other ceramic producers to result in creative and innovative glass-based media of expression.It is also expected that this study will motivate the society to have better concern on glass waste as well as excite creativity and innovation resulting in new attractive design of glass-waste glazed ceramics with higher competitiveness in the global market. Key words: glass waste, glazing, ceramic

When Camilo Catrillanca (24) died, he had one son and a pregnant wife. He was a weichafe (warrior) of the Mapuche, one of nine indigenous nations recognised in the Chilean Census. I learnt of Camilo’s life and death as a consequence of my attendance at the 2018 hui of Contemporary Ethnography Across the Disciplines (CEAD). I was able to learn about Camilo because I arrived at the hui laden with, aware of, and willing to share my own sorrow (tae pākoro). This article stories the environment within which the CEAD hui 2018 was held. It discusses the history of settler colonialism in Chile, the problems of Via Chile.a and the suffering of La Araucan.a. The writing reflects my time as a manuhiri in Santiago. It recognises my autoethnographic method’s whakapapa as offspring to a tool of colonisation. Hence, it offers a different form of autoethnography, one that begins with the tangata whenua, the people of the earth. Key words Chile; Mapuch; Māori; Indigenous; Autoethnography

Abstract: This article aims to show that science and faith have always walked closer than is usually thought, and that they can even coexist harmoniously in the same individual. It also seeks to show the sterility of the debate that puts both in direct confrontation, evidencing the often prejudiced and disdainful position of current science towards faith as a characteristic of the human condition, whether or not it is associated with a religion. In a broader approach, it discusses currently existing beliefs about the existence of intelligent life outside the Earth in contrast to the possibilities that science offers in our actual state of technological development. In addition, the work intends to convey the perception that it would be much more constructive to accept faith as a natural manifestation of consciousness that recognizes the limits of knowledge, rather than rejecting it through scientific arguments that, being faith, is manifestly inapplicable.

Key-words: science, faith, cosmogony, cosmology.

================================================================

On an example of two model areas features of the landscape neighbourhood in the western part of Small Polissya and the cause of its formation are opened. Degree of co-occurrence of those or other natural complexes defined as a share from all inherent in them neighbourhood, accepted for 100 %. The indicators of co-occurrence of those or other natural complexes resulted in tables illustrate, what landscape complexes occur with each other and which aren't combined among themselves, and also show degree of probability of this connection. It is established that within the Ratinska model areas each kind of natural complexes has a considerable quantity of neighbors that has pulled behind itself low indicators of frequency of occurrence with each of them. On the model areas put in Pasmove Pobuzhzhya, a number of natural complexes has small quantity of neighbors and strongly pronounced a dominant. These are landscape complexes of hills and the bottoms of hollows and beams. Having data on the characteristic neighbourhoods, it is possible to find out a specific accessory of a landscape complex without carrying out of field researches. It is shown mainstreams of application of knowledge of the landscape neighbourhoods: research of genesis of landscape complexes, physical-geographical division into districts, landscape indication, thematic data processing of remote sounding of the Earth, geographical forecasting. Key words: Small Polissya, landscape complex, landscape drawing, the landscape neighbourhood, co-occurrence.

In the paper, the author will research the application of information system in interpretation training, at the same time, the author also exploits some detail roles of information system in interpretation training. The combination of information system and interpretation is very complex course for improving training skills. Therefore, training skills are very important for the good combination of information system and interpretation too. In the study, the author also makes some investigation and statistics to exploit some useful data on the application of information system, which will be useful for effective interpretation training. [key words] information system;information-applied technology; exploration-internalization mode; electronic materials; interpretation training
