The genus Oshaibahus El-Sonbati & Wilson gen. nov. is described with the type species Platymetopius zizyphi Bergevin, 1922. Two new species, O. kadiae El-Sonbati & Wilson gen. et sp. nov. from Sudan and O. linnavuorii El-Sonbati & Wilson gen. et sp. nov. from Iraq are described, and a new combination, Oshaibahus zizyphi (Bergevin, 1922) gen. et comb. nov. is proposed. The genus Masiripius Dlabola, 1981 (type species: Mahalana lugubris Distant, 1918) is redefined. An illustrated key to genera of the subtribe Opsiina and a key to species of Oshaibahus gen. nov. are presented to facilitate identification.

Recent survey work for planthoppers at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica found two new species allied with Cenchrea Westwood. The cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and 18S were sequenced for the new taxa and used these data to assess the genus-level standing of the new taxa. The new taxa do not cluster with Cenchrea dorsalis Westwood, the type species of Cenchrea. A new genus Tico gen. n. described for the reception of new species described as Tico emmettcarri sp. n. (the type species) and Tico pseudosororius sp. n. Cenchrea sororia Fennah is moved to Tico gen. n., to form the new combination Tico sororius (Fennah). Tico gen. n. is compared with allied genera, and review genus-level diagnostic features and the species composition of Cenchrea, which appears to be compositionally heterogenous, but additional data is needed to evaluate genus-level placement of most species.

A new Asian genus is diagnosed, Asiothrixus, with Aleurothrixus antidesmae Takahashi as type species, together with Asiothrixus smilaceti (Takahashi) comb. nov., Asiothrixus silvestris (Corbett) comb. nov., Asiothrixus specialis sp. nov. and Asiothrixus unicus sp. nov. Lectotypes are designated for both A. antidesmae and A. smilaceti. Characteristics of the new genus are discussed, and puparial diagnoses and illustrations for the species provided, together with a puparial key to species.

The Oriental leafhopper genus Riseveinus Li is redefined with the redescription of its type species Riseveinus sinensis (Jacobi), and descriptions of two new species: Riseveinus asymmetricus sp. nov. and Riseveinus compressus sp. nov. The female genitalia of the species of this genus are described for the first time. One new combination, Riseveinus albiveinus (Li) n. comb., is also proposed. Photographs and a key to all aforementioned species are provided. The relationship of this genus to related genera is discussed.

Sinojassus gen. nov. of tribe Iassini is described based on: two new species from China, S. loberus Dai, Zhang & Zhang sp. nov. (type species), S. aspinus Dai, Zhang & Zhang sp. nov.; one new species from China and Thailand, S. compressus Dai, Zhang & Zhang sp. nov.; and one new species from Vietnam, S. webbi Dai & Dietrich sp. nov. Detailed morphological descriptions, illustrations and a key to species are provided. The new genus resembles Coriojassus Evans, Hyalojassus Evans and Trocnadella Singh-Pruthi in the structure of the male genitalia. The style has an elongate apodeme and short apophysis, the connective is absent, and the aedeagus is simple, without processes, and connected to other parts of the genitalia by membranous ligaments. A key to Oriental genera of Iassini is also provided.

The genus Anystipalpus Berlese, 1911, of uncertain prior placement in the superfamilies Ascoidea or Dermanyssoidea, is redescribed, based on reexamination of type and other material of the type-species, A. percicola Berlese, and of material representing Anystipalpus livshitsi (Eidelberg) new combination and two new species, A. labiduricola n. sp. and A. kazemii n. sp. Anystipalpus nataliae (Eidelberg) new combination and Anystipalpus ukrainicus (Sklyar) new combination are determined to be junior synonyms of A. percicola Berlese and A. livshitsi (Eidelberg), respectively, new synonymies. The genus is known thus far only from adult females phoretic under the elytra of carabid beetles and the tegmina of labidurid earwigs in Eurasia. The relationships between it and the closely related Antennoseius Berlese, 1916 and Vitzthumia Thor, 1930, are reviewed, and the options for the family level placement of these genera are reconsidered. Attention is given to some gnathosomatic attributes that are commonly overlooked in description of species of these closely related genera. Phoresy and the role of adult female morphs in the life history of these mites, as well as the extraordinary phoretic association of one species with earwigs are discussed.

A reanalysis of the species relationships in the genus Phareicranaus Roewer, 1913, here considered the senior synonym of Acanthocranaus Roewer, 1913, Santinezia Roewer, 1923 and Comboyus Roewer, 1943, is carried out, using information unavailable in a previous analysis (of Santinezia). Subfamilies Cranainae and Prostygninae may be not monophyletic, since the generic relationships among cranaines are still obscure; it seems that Phareicranaus is closely related to Ventrivomer Roewer, 1913 and Ventrisudis Roewer, 1963, based on presence of a ventral apophysis on male coxa IV and cylindrical pedipalpal femur. The analysis performed with equal weighting generated 64 equally parsimonius trees (275 steps, ci= .24; ri= .60), and the strict consensus tree differs substantially from previous analyses. Based on results of the equally weigthed cladistic analysis, Phareicranaus is supported by the following unambiguous synapomorphies: penis base of the glans ringed; pedipalpal femur with a stout dorsoapical spine; strong ventral tubercles on pedipalpal femur and; area II invading area I (the two halves do not touch each other). Two new species are described, Phareicranaus divisor (type-locality: Brazil, Acre, Parque Nacional da Serra do Divisor) and P. patauateua (type-locality: Brazil, Pará, Ourém, Patauateua, fazenda Gavião). Male genitalia are described for the following cranaids: Chiriboga albituber Roewer, 1959; Metacranaus tricalcaris Roewer, 1913; Phareicranaus calcariger (Roewer, 1913), comb. n.; P. albimedialis (Goodnight & Goodnight, 1943); P. festae Roewer, 1925; P. parallelus Roewer, 1925; P. angelicus (Roewer, 1963) comb. n.; and P. ortizi (Roewer, 1952) and Ventrisudis mira Roewer, 1963. The following new combinations are proposed: from Acanthocranaus, Phareicranaus calcariger (Roewer, 1913); from Santinezia, Phareicranaus albilineatus (Roewer, 1932); P. angelicus (Roewer, 1963); P. arthrocentricus (Mello-Leitão, 1943), P. biordi (González-Sponga, 1991); P. calcarfemoralis (Roewer, 1917); P. calcaritibialis (Roewer, 1915); P. capayitaensis (González-Sponga, 2003); P. contrerasi (GonzálezSponga, 2003); P. circumlineatus (González-Sponga, 1989); P. curvipes (Roewer, 1916); P. duranti (González-Sponga, 1989); P. fronteriza (González-Sponga, 2003); P. furva (Pinto-da-Rocha & Kury, 2003); P. giganteus (Roewer, 1913); P. glaber (González-Sponga, 2003); P. gracilis (Pinto-da-Rocha & Kury, 2003); P. guaricoensis (González-Sponga, 2003); P. heliae (Avram, 1983); P. hermosa (Pinto-da-Rocha & Kury, 2003); P. lamitisus (González-Sponga, 2003); P. leonensis (González-Sponga, 2003); P. lucifer (Pinto-da-Rocha & Kury, 2003); P. manauara (Pinto-da-Rocha, 1994); P. noctiscansor (Townsend & Milne 2010); P. onorei (Pinto-da-Rocha & Kury, 2003); P. ortizi (Roewer, 1952); P. parvus (GonzálezSponga, 2003); P. sanarensis (González-Sponga, 2003); P. simonbolivari (Avram, 1987); P. singularis (H. Santinezia sanarensis humocaroensis González-Sponga, 2003, transferred to Phareicranaus, is elevated to species level, proposing the new combination and new status: Phareicranaus humocaroensis (González-Sponga, 2003). Three new names are proposed: Phareicranaus roeweri to replace Nieblia festae Roewer, 1925, preoccupied by Phareicranaus festae Roewer, 1925; Phareicranaus goodnightorum to replace Santinezia magna Goodnight & Goodnight 1942, preoccupied by Phareicranaus magnus (Roewer, 1932); and Phareicranaus kuryi to replace Comboyus albilineatus Roewer, 1943, preoccupied by Santinezia albilineata Roewer, 1932, which is presently a junior synonym of Inezia curvipes Roewer, 1916 (now Phareicranaus curvipes). Phareicranaus cingulatus Roewer, 1932 and Santinezia serratotibialis Roewer, 1932 are newly synonymized with Goniosoma calcariferum Simon, 1879 (the type species of Phareicranaus). Additionally, Phareicranaus giganteus Roewer, 1932 is newly synonymized with Holocranaus longipes Roewer 1913, and the monotypic genus Meridia Roewer 1913 (type species M. palpalis Roewer 1913) is transferred from Manaosbiidae to Cranaidae, Cranainae.

For the first time in 21 years, a new genus of cardiochiline braconid wasp, Orientocardiochiles Kang & Long, gen. nov. (type species Orientocardiochiles joeburrowi Kang, sp. nov.), is discovered and described. This genus represents the ninth genus in the Oriental region. Two new species (O. joeburrowi Kang, sp. nov. and O. nigrofasciatus Long, sp. nov.) are described and illustrated, and a key to species of the genus, with detailed images, is added. Diagnostic characters of the new genus are analyzed and compared with several other cardiochiline genera to allow the genus to key out properly using an existing generic treatment. The scientific names validated by this paper and morphological data obtained from this project will be utilized and tested in the upcoming genus-level revision of the subfamily based on combined morphological and molecular data.

Unlike most terrestrial parasitengone mites (chiggers, erythraeids), known mostly from parasitic and easy-to-collect larvae, smaridid systematics are mainly based on the post larval instar. Larvae are rarely collected, and their biology and host associations are virtually unknown. Here we infer phylogenetic relationships of Smarididae based on 50 morphological characters using both larval and post larval instars, including data on the larval morphology of Trichosmaris obtained through rearing. The subfamily Smaridinae, as currently understood, was recovered paraphyletic: the genus Smaris was rendered as basal smaridid lineage, while the genus Fessonia (Smaridinae) was sister to Hirstiosomatinae, albeit with moderate support. Our analysis suggests that the genus Surasmaris Southcott, 1995 is a junior synonym of Trichosmaris Southcott, 1963 (syn. nov.), and two Sphaerotarsus species should be placed into Hirstiosoma: Hirstiosoma baenai (Mayoral & Barranco, 2017) comb. nov., Hirstiosoma quercus (Yazdanpanah, Saboori & Hakimitabar, 2016) comb. nov. Sphaerotarsus monticolus Southcott, 1997 and S. leptopilus were recovered as independent lineages, and hence, a new genus Southcottiana gen. nov. is proposed to include Southcottiana monticola comb. nov (Southcott, 1997). We describe two new species, Trichosmaris paulensis sp. nov. (adults, larvae) and T. calcarensis sp. nov. (larva), and present the first description of larval T. dispar, the type species of Trichosmaris, previously known only from post larval instars. Based on the above results, we give a key to larval genera of Smarididae and a key to species of Trichosmaris (larval and postlarval instars).

Ovomanonychus new genus (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae: Sericoidini) is described based on Ovomanonychus rosettae (Frey, 1976), new combination (type species), Ovomanonychus inajae new species, and Ovomanonychus striatus new species. The genus occurs in Bahia, Mato Grosso, Espírito Santo, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo States, Brazil. Description is provided for the new genus and for its placement in Sericoidini. A key to species is presented along with illustrations, distributional data, and a map for each species.

Two new genera and three species of the Pantheinae are described. The genus Flavala gen. n. (type-species Acronycta flavala Moore, 1867) is separated from Anacronicta Warren, 1909. The new combination Flavala flavala (Moore, 1867) comb. n. is introduced. Two new species, Flavala crypta sp. n. and F. secunda sp. n. are described based on the result of barcoding of mitochondrial DNA. The new genus Xizanga gen. n. (type-species Xizanga mysterica sp.n.) is tentatively placed in Pantheinae.
