The author starts by considering a simple character, c, and a visual experience that has that character—your visual experience of a certain patch. A ‘look’ sentence is chosen that we might use to say that you have a visual experience of the patch with character c: ‘The patch looks grey to you’. The author argues that we use ‘grey’ to refer to a certain way of looking, w, and that by ‘The patch looks grey to you’ we mean that you have a visual experience of the patch that is occurring in way w. The author concludes that this is what it is for you to have a visual experience of the patch with character c, and, more generally, that to have a visual experience with character c is to have a visual experience that is occurring in way w.

AbstractWe calculate equivariant elliptic cohomology of the partial flag variety$\def \xmlpi #1{}\def \mathsfbi #1{\boldsymbol {\mathsf {#1}}}\let \le =\leqslant \let \leq =\leqslant \let \ge =\geqslant \let \geq =\geqslant \def \Pr {\mathit {Pr}}\def \Fr {\mathit {Fr}}\def \Rey {\mathit {Re}}G/H$, where$H\subseteq G$are compact connected Lie groups of equal rank. We identify the${\rm RO}(G)$-graded coefficients${\mathcal{E}} ll_G^*$as powers of Looijenga’s line bundle and prove that transfer along the map$$\begin{equation*} \pi \,{:}\,G/H\longrightarrow {\rm pt} \end{equation*}$$is calculated by the Weyl–Kac character formula. Treating ordinary cohomology,$K$-theory and elliptic cohomology in parallel, this paper organizes the theoretical framework for the elliptic Schubert calculus of [N. Ganter and A. Ram,Elliptic Schubert calculus, in preparation].

Animated movie “Jack The Chicken” tells story about a chicken named Jack that bored and ungrateful with anything that are given by his master. This animation tells the audiences about being grateful for everything they’ve got. This animation video has three minutes duration with simple character design. This animated movie setting and scenes are largely supported by its background and backsound because it has no dialogues. This movie was made with 2D technique where most of the creation processes were done digitally. These digital processes were done to make the works easier and shorten the duration of the works. Manual work progress also had been done especially on early stages of creation e.g. idea developing and character design.

We study the situation where a solvable group [Formula: see text] has a faithful irreducible character [Formula: see text] such that [Formula: see text] has exactly two distinct nonprincipal irreducible constituents. We prove that [Formula: see text] has derived length bounded above by 8, and provide an example of such a group having derived length 8. In particular, this improves upon a result of Adan-Bante.
