Emotional regulation is a developmental skill that everyone must learn. It is the ability for you to tune into, make sense of and control your own strong feelings. It affectively influences how well you can adapt to situations and events in your life, as well as how you navigate and adapt to the world. A lack of healthy emotional regulation can lead one to become dysregulated. Two important phenomenon underpin our ability to regulate: emotional complexity and splitting. The more acknowledgment and understanding that we give to our emotions (not just the thoughts in our mind but the feelings in our better), the more control and problem solving skills we can harness to sustain a good standard of personal well-being.

<p>The aim of the present research was study of the impact of music therapy on problem-solving skills of 4 to 6 years old children in Tehran. This research was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest control group. The statistical population was all 4 to 6 years old children in region 2 of Tehran. Using the random sampling method, the study sample was chosen in two experiment (15 individuals) and control (15 individuals) groups.   The experiment group received 12 sessions of music therapy and the control group was waiting for treatment meanwhile. To evaluate the problem-solving skill in children, the three subscales of Wechsler’s Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) were used, including: mazes, cubes and arithmetic.  Analysis of data obtained from the questionnaires was conducted in two parts of descriptive and inferential. The data analysis indicated the significant increase of problem-solving average score of the experiment group compared to the control group.</p>

This study aims to determine whether the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving skills that get the learning of Model-Eliciting Activities is better than students who get regular learning. Method in this research is experiment and research design pretest and postest in experiment and control class. The population in this study were all students of MTs Kota Cimahi. School samples were taken at random, and obtained by MTs Negeri Kota Cimahi. Then the sample is selected two class VIII at random class. The experimental class uses Model-Eliciting Activities, while the control class uses ordinary learning. The hypothesis in this research is the improvement of student solving abilities of MTs students in Cimahi whose learning using Model-Eliciting Activities is better than using ordinary learning. Research data obtained through the instrument of posttest mathematical problem solving ability. The posttest data is processed by normality test, homogeneity test, and two average difference test using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) software version 16.0 for Windows. The results showed that the improvement of problem solving ability of MTs students in Cimahi whose learning using Model-Eliciting Activities was better than those using ordinary learning.

In this research the effects of STEM applications, which are aimed to support the integrated teaching knowledge of pre-service science teachers on the problem solving skills of pre-service science teachers were examined. The research was carried out in scope of the mixed method design of convergent parallel design. The research was conducted with pre-service science teachers of experimental group (n=31) and control group (n=31) who were studying at Fırat University. STEM applications including Algodoo were carried out with the pre-service teachers in the experimental group for one term. The data of the research were collected through the problem solving inventory test (PSIT), prospects diaries during the process of the pre-service science teachers in the experiment group. Quantitative data were analyzed using unpaired samples t-test. Statistically significant differences were found in favor of the experimental group when the PSIT post-test scores of the pre-service teachers in the experimental and control groups were analyzed. They said that STEM education is necessary and important for them, much better products arise as a result of gathering different disciplines, but integration of four disciplines is not easy.

A strong correlation exists between reading ability and writing ability. Reading<br />is the window of the world. To produce quality writing then requires the process of<br />internalization of knowledge by reading. Reading can build a person’s character,<br />ranging from the appearance of taste, then there is interest, created habits, until<br />finally formed the character of reading. Subsequently writing becomes a process of<br />externalization of knowledge, from what is thought then poured it into writing. Writing<br />media can be either printed documents or through online documents. Thus, writing is<br />essentially a process of thinking. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh antara pelatihan coaching dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada supervisor di PT.X Kalimantan Timur.Kemampuan Pemecahan masalah adalah kemampuan untuk mengenali dan merumuskan masalah, serta menemukan dan menerapkan pemecahan yang ampuh.Coaching adalah kunci pembuka potensi seseorang untuk memaksimalkan kinerjanya. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah ada pengaruh pelatihan coaching terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang terdiri dari 4 aspek yaitu mampu memahami masalah, mampu mencari dan menilai alternatif solusi, mampu melaksanakan solusi, mampu melaksanakan evaluasi terhadap solusi yang telah di laksanakan. Penelitian ini melibatkan 26 supervisor baru dengan masa kerja 1 – 3 tahun. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala stres kerja menurut Ellis dan Hunt (1993) yang berjumlah 25 butir. Validitas yang dihasilkan adalah 0,700 sedangkan uji reliabilitas menghasilkan koefisien reliabilitas alpha sebesar 0,908. Analisis hipotesis menggunakan Independent Sample t-test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi p value (p = 0,506 > 0,05) pada pascates, maka hipotesis dinyatakan tidak diterima. Dengan demikian, tidak ada perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Walaupun demikian, saat pelaksanaan tindak lanjut nilai signifikansi p value menunjukkan (p = 0,030 > 0,05) yang menandakan bahwa ada perbedaan dari pascates ke tindaklanjut pada kelompok eksperimen.Kata Kunci :Coaching, kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah, Pelatihan This study aims to determine whether there is influence between coaching training with problem solving skills on PT.X supervisor in East Kalimantan. Problem solving ability is the ability to identify and formulate problems, and find and implement effective solutions. Coaching is the key to unlocking a person's potential to maximize performance. The hypothesis is there are not coaching training effect on the ability of problem solving consists of four aspects which is able to understand the problem, which is able to seek and assess alternative solutions, able to implement the solution, able to carry out an evaluation of the solutions that have been implemented. The study involved 26 new supervisors with tenure 1-3 years. Measuring instruments used are problem solving scale according to Ellis and Hunt (1993), which amounted to 25 points. Validity produced was 0,700 while the reliability test result reliability coefficient alpha of 0.908. Hypothesis analysis using independent sample t-test showed a significance value of p value (p = 0.506> 0.05) in the post-test, the hypothesis stated are not accepted. Thus, there is no difference in the ability of solving problems in experimental and control groups. Background: Dyscalculia tends to debilitating for children with respect to their social interactions and learning process. Although it can cause so many problematic consequences in developmental stages of children, by implementing precise and in time therapeutic intervention, it can be mitigated. Current paper examines the efficacy of emotional regulation techniques among students who suffer from dyscalculia. Materials and Methods: This study was experimental study with pre-test and post-test and control group. Statistical Society of this study included all students (4th, 5th, 6th grader), who suffered from dyscalculia in Bileh town (Urumieh Province/Iran) during 2013-2014(N=76). This study consisted 34 students, who suffered from dyscalculia. These students were chosen via systematic random sampling. Data were collected using Raven IQ test, Shalev mathematical Test, Alexithymia Scale, Psychological wellbeing questionnaire. Regarding analyzing data, MANOVA was used. Results: The results of multivariate analysis of covariance show that between case group and control, significant difference in components of alexithymia and psychological wellbeing were noticed. Hence, it can be inferred that emotional regulation strategies improves component of alexithymia and psychological well being of students with dyscalculia. Conclusion: According to results, teaching emotion regulation strategies to students considered to be effective in promoting awareness and positive attitudes. Thus, it is plausible that implementing these strategies tend to play major role as an intervention among students with dyscalculia.

As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, more than 1.5 billion students worldwide started learning remotely, and they faced a range of challenges: a lack of immediate support from teachers, problems with technology, psychological well-being and difficulties in independently coping with their duties. The aim of this study was to understand what helped students cope with distance learning and what hindered and made it difficult for students, as well to examine students’ self-assessed problem-solving and self-management skills. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used in the study with 358 students aged M = 16.65 years. Participants answered two open-ended questions and filled the Problem-Solving Questionnaire and the Metacognitive Awareness Scale. Content analysis of students’ answers shows that most frequently students’ goal-orientation, determination to succeed, diligence and specific routines helped them deal with the distance learning. On the contrary, lack of motivation (among other psychological difficulties), distractions, lack of routines, and felt pressure to manage all school tasks were most frequently the aspects that hindered students from coping with the distance learning. Results show significant correlation between most scales of self-assessed problem solving and self-management skills. Students with higher result in total score of self-reported problem-solving skills felt less stress about the distance learning and the pandemic in general.

At the time of writing this article, the world population is suffering from more than 2 million registered COVID-19 disease epidemic-induced deaths since the outbreak of the corona virus, which is now officially known as SARS-CoV-2. However, tremendous efforts have been made worldwide to counter-steer and control the epidemic by now labelled as pandemic. In this contribution, we provide an overview on the potential for computer audition (CA), i.e., the usage of speech and sound analysis by artificial intelligence to help in this scenario. We first survey which types of related or contextually significant phenomena can be automatically assessed from speech or sound. These include the automatic recognition and monitoring of COVID-19 directly or its symptoms such as breathing, dry, and wet coughing or sneezing sounds, speech under cold, eating behaviour, sleepiness, or pain to name but a few. Then, we consider potential use-cases for exploitation. These include risk assessment and diagnosis based on symptom histograms and their development over time, as well as monitoring of spread, social distancing and its effects, treatment and recovery, and patient well-being. We quickly guide further through challenges that need to be faced for real-life usage and limitations also in comparison with non-audio solutions. We come to the conclusion that CA appears ready for implementation of (pre-)diagnosis and monitoring tools, and more generally provides rich and significant, yet so far untapped potential in the fight against COVID-19 spread.
