Civil engineering deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings. As one course in professional engineering discipline, Civil Engineering is offered to undergraduate students. It aims to let students know environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, geophysics, geodesy, control engineering, structural engineering, biomechanics, nanotechnology, transportation engineering, earth science, atmospheric sciences, forensic engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. It requires to be constructed to keep it up-to-date with current development of civil engineering. Based on analysis of the current conditions of this course and aims for construction, it describes a construction plan, including revision of the teaching content, compiling of the textbook, improvement of teaching methods and class modes, preparation of test database and exercise database.

Research paper "The structure of informational-analytical support of urban engineering activities in the field of land use planning and management" consists of - introduction, 6 sections, 5 infological models, conclusions, and a list of 35 sources. The object of the study are methods and models of the discipline of land use planning and management. The subject of the research is the structure of informational support of urban planning activity, cadastral survey and expert systems. The purpose of the paper: to develop the structure of informational and analytical support of urban planning models, and also structural and logical models of natural conditions and processes, activities and structures in the field of land use planning and management. Area of application: information support of all types of urban planning activities. It is advisable to use the results of the work for Improvement of informational support of legislative bodies, municipal administrations and other institution responsible for urban development.

Exogenous geological processes are exerting a significant impact on urban geo environment in Moscow endangering both surface and subsurface constructions. For surface construction, the principle geohazards in Moscow are karst-suffosion sinkholes, land subsidence, landslides, and waterlogging. The subsurface construction is endangered by karstification and fracturing of limestone, decompaction and swelling of clay, quicksand phenomena, and groundwater breakthrough to tunnels. Different methods are applied to study geohazards depending on the purpose and the scale of study. At the preliminary investigation stage, small-scale mapping and zoning of city surface or subsurface appears to be the most appropriate for the qualitative assessment of the risk of economic losses caused by exogenous geohazards. Assessment of the geological risk in Moscow was carried out separately for already existing urban infrastructure and for future planned construction. For existing surface urban infrastructure, geological risk is considered to be an integral parameter of probable damage caused by geohazards and the anthropogenic load on the specific territories. The main aim of risk mapping in this case is outlining the territories, for which restrictions and prohibitions should be imposed for further urban engineering development. For future subsurface urban construction, the risk-analysis consists in assessing the impact of geohazards on the engineering structure by comparing the future expenditures for the construction and operation under different engineering geological conditions. The risk maps in this case will help planners to compare and make alternative project decisions in order to minimize the cost in future economic expenditures. Both approaches are successfully approved in this investigation in Moscow.
