An adaptive hybrid simulated annealing technique with ANSYS parametric design language is developed to optimize hydrodynamic deep drawing assisted by radial pressure process. This work aims to determine an optimal pressure path by redefinition of simulated annealing parameters and creating an adaptive finite element code using ANSYS parametric design language for any cylindrical, conical, and conical–cylindrical cups. The simulated annealing algorithm is developed adaptively with respect to hydrodynamic deep drawing with radial pressure process to link with ANSYS parametric design language code using a script in MATLAB. Parametric definition of process parameters enables the optimization algorithm to change the finite element model configuration in each iteration. Defective product is detected by definition of two failure criteria based on thinning and wrinkling occurrence during the optimization process. The proposed optimization method is employed in fractional factorial design of experiment to investigate the effective parameters on final product quality. Also, a regression model is derived to predict the final product quality based on the maximum thinning percentage under the optimal pressure path. Reliability of the optimization procedure and regression model is validated by experiments.

Energy consumption forecasting is vitally important for the deregulated electricity industry in the world. A large variety of mathematical models have been developed in the literature for energy forecasting. However, researchers are involved in developing novel methods to estimate closer values. In this paper, authors attempted to develop new models in minimizing the forecasting errors. In the present study, the economic indicators of the state including population, gross state domestic product, yearly peak demand, and per capita income were considered for forecasting the electricity consumption of a state in a developing country. Initially, a multiple linear regression model has been developed. Then, the coefficients of the regression model were optimized using two heuristic approaches namely genetic algorithm and simulated annealing. The mean absolute percentage error obtained for the three models were 2.00 for multiple linear regression model, 1.94 for genetic algorithm based linear regression and 1.86 for simulated annealing based linear regression.

This study investigates the impact of Ease of Doing Business on Inward FDI over the period from 2011 to 2015 across the globe. This study measures ease of doing business using starting a business, getting credit, registering property, paying taxes and enforcing contracts. The research used a sample of 177 countries from 190 countries listed in World Bank. Least square regression model via E-views software used to examine causal relationship. The study found that ease of doing business indicators ‘Enforcing Contracts’ was found to have a positive significant impact on Inward FDI. Nevertheless, ‘Getting Credit’ and ‘Registering Property’ were found to have a negative significant impact on Inward FDI. However, ‘Starting a Business’ and ‘Paying Taxes’ have no significant impact on Inward FDI in the studied timeframe of this research. The findings of the study suggested the ease of doing business enables inward FDI through better contract enforcements, getting credit and registering property. The findings of the research will assist international managers and companies to know the importance of ease of doing business when investing in foreign countries through FDI.

Scheduling is a very important aspect because in it there are elements of planning and production control for a company that can send goods in accordance with a predetermined time, to obtain a minimum total time of completion. The main problem faced by PT. ML is the delay in completing orders that affect delivery time to customer because the implementation of production scheduling on the factory floor has not produced the makespan that matches the existing order. Therefore, it is required to find optimal problem solving solutions in determining the production schedule to minimize the total time of elimination (makespan) of all orders. In this study, scheduling using the Simulated Annealing (SA) method is expected to produce a total time of completion faster than the existing scheduling in the company.

This study uses the DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) method to estimate the technical efficiency index of 34 Vietnamese commercial banks in the period 2007-2015, and then it analyzes the impact of income diversification on the operational efficiency of Vietnamese commercial banks through a censored regression model - the Tobit regression model. Research results indicate that income diversification has positive effects on the operational efficiency of Vietnamese commercial banks in the research period. Based on study results, in this research some recommendations forpolicy are given to enhance the operational efficiency of Vietnam’s commercial banking system.
