Today, developing nations are witnessing an unprecedented pace of urbanization in the wake of industrialization and globalization. This is giving rise to an ever increasing demand for housing and infrastructure to support the growing population and its activities. Embodied energy is the energy in total needed in manufacturing and extracting the raw materials, energy consumed for transportation and the external energy applied to raw materials in producing or assembling the final product. In this project, Energy accounted in different material used for construction of this building is calculated. All the material used for construction is accounted and Embodied energies of different materials has been worked out. The Embodied energy calculation arrived based on energy consumed for production and Transportation. With the estimated total quantity of all the materials and the energy, an analysis about the major contributors of embodied energy has been studied and comparisons have been made across different materials between the production and transportation energies. The values have been normalized and a tool has been made on a platform called Spyder to generate the embodied energy calculation for the provided inputs. Suitable alternative material, which consumes less Embodied energy is suggested.

In Al/Al2O3 MMC's the metal/ceramic interfacial structure is of great concern because aluminum does not wet (i.e. bond) well to alumina. One proposed method to overcome this problem is to form a magnesium-rich spinel (MgAl2O4) as an additional phase between the aluminum matrix and the alumina particle. The spinel forms by diffusion of Mg from the matrix and improves the bonding. Typically the SEM would be the most suitable instrument to study the spinel, but this particular material combination (alumina/spinel) does not have sufficient secondary or backscattered electron contrast to allow for normal imaging. The purpose of this work was to develop a technique for examining the growth and morphology of this spinel at the Al/Al2O3 interface. Samples of an Al/Al2O3 MMC with a spinel at the particle interface were prepared according to standard metallographic procedures. Certain samples were sputter coated with a gold film of approximately 12 nm thickness; other samples were examined uncoated. Nonconductive, uncoated specimens charge under the incident electron beam if the accelerating voltage is below E1 or above E2 in Figure 1. In both of cases (below E1 and above E2) the number of electrons entering the sample is higher than the number of electrons leaving the sample. The resolving power of the SEM is usually degraded by this effect and therefore nonconductive specimens are coated with a layer of conductive material prior to observation. Figure 2 shows how this effect can create contrast between two materials due to its effect on the secondary electron detector bias voltage. Figure 3 shows that this contrast mechanism exists for the material combination alumina/spinel. The secondary electron image of a coated sample (3a) shows almost no contrast between alumina and spinel whereas the uncoated sample (3b) shows good contrast due to the different charging characteristics of the materials. The alumina charges stronger than the spinel and appears brighter in the image. The assumption that the effect is due to secondary electrons is supported by Figure 4. The micrograph in Figure 4a was obtained by backscattered electrons only and shows poor contrast whereas the micrograph in Figure 4b was obtained by secondary and backscattered electrons and shows good contrast. Figure 5 shows micrographs obtained at different operating voltages. The reduction in contrast at lower operating voltages is due to reduced charging.

Abstract. It is challenging to apply exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to event-related potential (ERP) data because such data are characterized by substantial temporal overlap (i.e., large cross-loadings) between the factors, and, because researchers are typically interested in the results of subsequent analyses (e.g., experimental condition effects on the level of the factor scores). In this context, relatively small deviations in the estimated factor solution from the unknown ground truth may result in substantially biased estimates of condition effects (rotation bias). Thus, in order to apply EFA to ERP data researchers need rotation methods that are able to both recover perfect simple structure where it exists and to tolerate substantial cross-loadings between the factors where appropriate. We had two aims in the present paper. First, to extend previous research, we wanted to better understand the behavior of the rotation bias for typical ERP data. To this end, we compared the performance of a variety of factor rotation methods under conditions of varying amounts of temporal overlap between the factors. Second, we wanted to investigate whether the recently proposed component loss rotation is better able to decrease the bias than traditional simple structure rotation. The results showed that no single rotation method was generally superior across all conditions. Component loss rotation showed the best all-round performance across the investigated conditions. We conclude that Component loss rotation is a suitable alternative to simple structure rotation. We discuss this result in the light of recently proposed sparse factor analysis approaches.

This research is entitled as "Anecdotal Text in the Oral Story of Yong Dollah Inheritance of Malays as Alternative Choice for Indonesian Language Teaching Materials". It is inspired by the collection of Yong Dollah stories as the inheritance of Malays in Bengkalis Regency which contain of humor elements. In addition, the stories have the same characteristics with anecdotal text, so that it can be applied as teaching material for Indonesia Language subject in the school. This research method was content analysis of descriptive approach. This research was conducted during six months. The technique used to collect data were documentation and interview. The data of this study were the entire generic structure and language features of anecdotal texts contained in a collection of Yong Dollah stories which consisted of 11 stories. The result showed that as following. First, there are five texts contain of complete generic structures and six texts contain of incomplete generic structure which is coda part for data 2, 3, 5, 8, and 1. Second, about language features, there are four data contains of all language features of Anecdote text, but on the other side, there are seven incomplete language features in the texts. Third, the consideration of choosing Yong Dollah as alternative material for Indonesia Language subject refers to eight indicators that are conveyed based on teachers’ perception toward Anecdote text Yong Dolla. 55 % of number of teachers claim that these texts suitable to be implemented as teaching material, but 44% of them claim neutral, and 1% claim disagree on it.

A laboratory study was conducted to determine the feasibility of batch activated sludge reactor for treating pineapple wastewater and to examine the effects of bioaugmentation on treatment performance. The experimental set-up consists of eleven batch reactors. Activated sludge obtained from a wastewater treatment plant treating domestic wastewater was used as seed for the reactors. Synthetic pineapple wastewater was used as feed for the reactors. The eleven reactors were arranged to evaluate the total organic removal, nitrification, and sludge production by bioaugmentation process. Three major factors considered were influent organic loading, ammonia-nitrogen, and dosage of bacterial-culture-product addition. Removal of TOG (total organic carbon), sludge production in terms of SS(suspended solids), and ammonia-nitrogen removal variation are used as evaluation parameters. The TOC removal efficiency after the end of a 48 hour reactor run, for influent TOC of 350.14 to 363.30 mg/l, and 145.92 to 169.66 mg/l, was 94.41 to 95.89%, and 93.72 to 94.73% respectively. Higher organic removal was observed in the bioaugmented reactors with higher organic loading. The better organic removal efficiency in the bioaugmented reactors was probably due to activities of bacteria added. The test results also indicated that sludge yield was enhanced by the bacteria additive and high bacteria dosage produced less sludge. Bioaugmentation was observed to be a suitable alternative for enhancing the biological treatment of pineapple wastewater.

Background: Inflammation is a complex response of the host defense system to different internal and external stimuli. It is believed that persistent inflammation may lead to chronic inflammatory diseases such as, inflammatory bowel disease, neurological and cardiovascular diseases. Oxidative stress is the main factor responsible for the augmentation of inflammation via various molecular pathways. Therefore, alleviating oxidative stress is effective a therapeutic option against chronic inflammatory diseases. Methods: This review article extends the knowledge of the regulatory mechanisms of flavonoids targeting inflammatory pathways in chronic diseases, which would be the best approach for the development of suitable therapeutic agents against chronic diseases. Results: Since the inflammatory response is initiated by numerous signaling molecules like NF-κB, MAPK, and Arachidonic acid pathways, their encountering function can be evaluated with the activation of Nrf2 pathway, a promising approach to inhibit/prevent chronic inflammatory diseases by flavonoids. Over the last few decades, flavonoids drew much attention as a potent alternative therapeutic agent. Recent clinical evidence has shown significant impacts of flavonoids on chronic diseases in different in-vivo and in-vitro models. Conclusion: Flavonoid compounds can interact with chronic inflammatory diseases at the cellular level and modulate the response of protein pathways. A promising approach is needed to overlook suitable alternative compounds providing more therapeutic efficacy and exerting fewer side effects than commercially available antiinflammatory drugs.
