The introduction of the AQC boiler has complex effects on the temperature of Tertiary air, traditional PID is difficult to achieve the effective control. Combined the method of the conventional PID with the fuzzy control theory, a fuzzy self-tuning PID controller is designed. Compared with traditional PID, results of simulation show that the fuzzy PID controller improves not only the adaptability and robustness of the system, but also the system's static and dynamic performance.

In view of the problems of large overshoot and large oscillation frequency in cur?rent furnace temperature control, based on the development of intelligent control theory, expert control, fuzzy control, and neural network control in intelligent control theory are combined with proportional integral derivative (PID) control. The intelligent PID control algorithm is used to carry out numerical simulation and experimental research on these several control algorithms. The results show that the adjustment effect of the intelligent PID control algorithm is significantly better than the traditional PID control algorithm. Among them, the fuzzy self-tuning PID control algorithm and the fuzzy immune PID control algorithm are feasible in the application of furnace temperature control. The neural network PID control algorithm It also has good development and application potential.

There are many processes which have been automatically controlled by PID control or by the present control theory, but there are still many which are dependent on an operator's manipulations for control. Skilled operators, by their perceptions or experiences, can exercise controls even of such processes which have peculiar characteristics and for which it is difficult to provide automatic controls. The fuzzy control system was created to allow computers to apply the same controls as skilled operators do, by taking the operator's techniques into the computer. We shall describe below an outline of fuzzy control and the fuzzy control system we have developed.

This paper proposes a nonlinear fuzzy PID control algorithm, whose membership function (MF) is adjustable, is universal, and has a wide adjustable range. Appling this function to fuzzy control theory will increase system’s tunability. The continuity of this function is proved. This method was employed in the simulation and HIL experiments. Effectiveness and feasibility of this function are demonstrated in the results.
