This paper presents an experience report of the active methodology “Teaching with Research” with the goal of improving the teching-learning process. The basic principles of this methodology were utilized as basis for the teaching planning for the Information Systems course in an informatics technician class. Two research projects were elaborated as guiding elements of the teaching-learning process (according to the adopted methodology). As reflections regarding the methodology application experience, it could be noticed increased participation of the students during the class activities. The professor has a modified role towards the students: acting like an advisor, guiding the developed research activities inside the classroom. With respect to the learning evaluation methods, it happened an increased valorization of the research path coursed by the student, mainly due to the methodologic organization of the proposed activities (based on the steps of scientific method).

ABSTRACT Objective: Evaluating the teaching-learning process of undergraduates and nursing professionals on the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) through a course on Moodle Platform. Method: Mixed research conducted with 51 nursing students and nurses. Many technological and educational resources were used. To collect data, two semi-structured questionnaires were applied and focus groups were carried out. Statistical and thematic analysis of the data was performed. Results: There was a correlation between the Wiki variable, the Animation Video (p = 0.002) and the Arch Method (p = 0.04), as well as a correlation between the Forum, the Virtual Book (P < 0.001) and time (p = 0.009). Three topics emerged: innovation in the application of technological resources, distance education in the professional education and permanent education and the teaching-learning process on the ICNP® in a collaborative way. Conclusion: Teaching-learning strategies and technological resources used were pointed out as innovative and helped students have a better performance.

The article reflects two parts of the study – theoretical that reveals four aspects in the acquisition of the educational content of pupils with disorders of mental development in special education institution. It presents the analysis of theoretical ideas (N. Geidzs, D. Berliner, E. Geyser) about ensuring the emotional context in everyday life and the development of research activities. The views expressed by different scientists (A. Adler, H. Gadamers, A. Bandura) about the importance of imitation skills for pupils with disorders of mental development compared. The practical study summarizes and analyzes the results of the survey the participants of which were 27 special education teachers as well as the analysis of how the above mentioned aspects are expressed in the teaching/learning process.

IntroductionThe formation of nursing professionals requires a dynamic teaching that provides the acquisition of skills and abilities to execute care, management, teaching and research activities. In this perspective, the operative groups are a teaching and nursing care strategy, performed by a knowledge exchange and collective interventions.AimsDiscuss the experience in nursing care to the person with mental disorder.MethodsIt is about a fourth year undergraduate nursing students’ experience report. The activities were developed at a center of psychosocial attention in João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brazil. Once a week, four operative group sessions were held under the theme “men's health”. In the first session were agreed norms of behavior and activities plans on which the participants chose the subjects.ResultsThe operative group provided a friendly environment to exchange knowledge, in which the contents where addressed from the participant's acquirements and experiences. There was a good group interaction. The students conducted the activities under the teacher and monitor's supervision.ConclusionThis report provided experiences that contributed to the students’ teaching-learning process as well as for understanding the nurse's insertion in the care scenario and the use of soft technologies to an efficient care to the person with mental disorder. The students also noticed the operative group's impact in the user's lives though sentences such as “It was fun”, “I won gifts”, “liked it”, “I learned”.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.

The chapter starts with a short introduction on students’ assessment and school evaluation and the great changes investing them in last decades. Soon after the same topics are deeply analyzed with respect to results coming from educational research and to the introduction and use of ICT; as a consequence the limits of the partial application of ICT and information management to separated educational fields emerge. From the above remarks arises the author hypothesis of a paradigmatic change in education management and the consequent need for a deeper use of ICT and information systems in the management of educational data; contextually it is explained how the above change can lead to didactics’ transparency in teaching-learning processes.

The profession of teacher requires a qualitative and special preparation for a specific activity. Therefore, the importance of professional and general competencies of relevant specialists working and intending to work in educational institutions is emerging. The document “Common European Principles for Teacher Competencies and Qualifications” (2005) emphasizes the provision that all educators must be able to work effectively in three overlapping areas of activities: working with information, technology and knowledge, working with people (students, colleagues and other partners), working with society and in society at local, regional, national, European and global levels (Saulėnienė, Žydžiūnaitė, & Katiliūtė, 2006). In order to work successfully, the educator must have cognitive, functional, personal and ethical competencies. In Lithuania, changes and updates of regulations, models and conception of the training and activity of teachers are regularly updated (2004; 2010; 2012; 2015; 2016; 2017; 2018). Teachers’ competencies are summarized in the “Description of Professional Competencies of Teachers” (January 15, 2007); the description highlights common cultural, vocational pedagogical and general competences. In many Lithuanian higher education institutions that train qualified educators, since 2000 the method of improving the action research is used in the study process. This method of qualitative research is also highly appreciated and successfully used by different types of schools in the process of specialist education in many foreign countries. This method is also applicable to general education institutions. This method is described and analysed by Lewin (1948), Corey (1953), Grundy (1988), Callhoun (1994), McLaughlin (1997), Lanshear and Knobel (2004), Kemmis and McTaggart (2005), Creswell (2008), Mills and Ainassian (2009) and others. The aim of this article is to analyse the teachers’ opinion on the application of action research in the study process. To achieve the goal, three objectives have been set:1. to discuss the coherence between the European Qualifications Framework (2005) and the Competences of the Lithuanian teachers (2007);2. to highlight the essence of the method of action research;3. to examine how the students themselves – present and future educators – evaluate the method of action research that proves advantageous to acquire and develop competences. The research analysed 102 reports – final study projects on the improvement of the activity of educators prepared by the students – future educators – of one of Lithuanian higher education institutions from 2007 to 2017. The research was carried out in May 2018.It has been established that in the process of the action research, the educators mostly improved these general competencies of – research activities, reflecting and learning to learn, communication and cooperation; these professional pedagogical competencies as the development of professional development, the use of information technology, recognition of understanding the pupil and his/her progress, motivating and supporting students, planning and improving the content of the subject, teaching/learning process management, assessment of student achievements and progress. In all of the 102 projects submitted by the students, the application of this method in the study process at the higher education institution was positively evaluated. It was emphasized that during this research not only the new knowledge was gained, but also the participants of the research, the learners, have themselves developed and improved, as well the researchers – students – future educators have improved.

This article describes a teaching experience by using STS (Science, Technology and Society) approach in the HCI (Human-Computer Interaction). The experience was carried out in classes about the use of colors in interface design. It aimed at observing students´ perceptions about the use of STS approach in HCI and its impacts on the course of Project of Information Systems. The methodology used in the experiment was to organize the content (colors and STS) within a didactic sequence of six classes. In this sequence, class themes, pedagogical strategies, aims and content were defined. Results showed more interaction between students and lecture in HCI and more students’ interest on using an appropriated code of colors in interface design in the course of Project of Information Systems. It was concluded that engaging methodologies such as STS approach are important and can impact positively for teaching-learning process of students in Software Engineering.
