The computational tool developed in this study is based on convolutional neural networks and the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm for detecting and tracking mice in videos recorded during behavioral neuroscience experiments. We analyzed a set of data composed of 13622 images, made up of behavioral videos of three important researches in this area. The training set used 50% of the images, 25% for validation, and 25% for the tests. The results show that the mean Average Precision (mAP) reached by the developed system was 90.79% and 90.75% for the Full and Tiny versions of YOLO, respectively. Considering the high accuracy of the results, the developed work allows the experimentalists to perform mice tracking in a reliable and non-evasive way.

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to develop a method for recognizing dental prostheses and restorations of teeth using a deep learning. A dataset of 1904 oral photographic images of dental arches (maxilla: 1084 images; mandible: 820 images) was used in the study. A deep-learning method to recognize the 11 types of dental prostheses and restorations was developed using TensorFlow and Keras deep learning libraries. After completion of the learning procedure, the average precision of each prosthesis, mean average precision, and mean intersection over union were used to evaluate learning performance. The average precision of each prosthesis varies from 0.59 to 0.93. The mean average precision and mean intersection over union of this system were 0.80 and 0.76, respectively. More than 80% of metallic dental prostheses were detected correctly, but only 60% of tooth-colored prostheses were detected. The results of this study suggest that dental prostheses and restorations that are metallic in color can be recognized and predicted with high accuracy using deep learning; however, those with tooth color are recognized with moderate accuracy.

Object detection has boomed in areas like image processing in accordance with the unparalleled development of CNN (Convolutional Neural Networks) over the last decade. The CNN family which includes R-CNN has advanced to much faster versions like Fast-RCNN which have mean average precision(Map) of up to 76.4 but their frames per second(fps) still remain between 5 to 18 and that is comparatively moderate to problem-solving time. Therefore, there is an urgent need to increase speed in the advancements of object detection. In accordance with the broad initiation of CNN and its features, this paper discusses YOLO (You only look once), a strong representative of CNN which comes up with an entirely different method of interpreting the task of detecting the objects. YOLO has attained fast speeds with fps of 155 and map of about 78.6, thereby surpassing the performances of other CNN versions appreciably. Furthermore, in comparison with the latest advancements, YOLOv2 attains an outstanding trade-off between accuracy and speed and also as a detector possessing powerful generalization capabilities of representing an entire image

Community-based question answering (CQA) is formed to help people who search information that they need through a community. One condition that may occurs in CQA is when people cannot obtain the information that they need, thus they will post a new question. This condition can cause CQA archive increased because of duplicated questions. Therefore, it becomes important problems to find semantically similar questions from CQA archive towards a new question. In this study, we use convolutional neural network methods for semantic modeling of sentence to obtain words that they represent the content of documents and new question. The result for the process of finding the same question semantically to a new question (query) from the question-answer documents archive using the convolutional neural network method, obtained the mean average precision value is 0,422. Whereas by using vector space model, as a comparison, obtained mean average precision value is 0,282. More than half of post-operative complications can be prevented, and operation performances can be improved based on the feedback gathered from operations or notifications of the risks during operations in real time. However, existing surgical analysis methods are limited, because they involve time-consuming processes and subjective opinions. Therefore, the detection of surgical instruments is necessary for (a) conducting objective analyses, or (b) providing risk notifications associated with a surgical procedure in real time. We propose a new real-time detection algorithm for detection of surgical instruments using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). This algorithm is based on an object detection system YOLO9000 and ensures continuity of detection of the surgical tools in successive imaging frames based on motion vector prediction. This method exhibits a constant performance irrespective of a surgical instrument class, while the mean average precision (mAP) of all the tools is 84.7, with a speed of 38 frames per second (FPS).

Abstract. Error typing resulting in the change of standard words into non-standard words are often caused by misspelling. This can be addressed by developing a system to identify errors in typing. Approximate string matching is one method that is widely implemented to identify error typing by using several string search algorithms, i.e. Levenshtein Distance, Hamming Distance, Damerau Levenshtein Distance and Jaro Winkler Distance. However, there is no study that compares the performance of the four algorithms.  Therefore, this research aims to compare the performance between the four algorithms in order to identify which algorithm is the most accurate and precise in the search string based on various errors typing. Evaluation is performed by using users’ relevance judgments which produce the mean average precision (MAP) to determine the best algorithm. The result shows that Jaro Winkler Distance algorithm is the best in word-checking with 0.87 of MAP value when identifying the typing error of 50 incorrect words. Keywords: Errors typing, Levenshtein, Hamming, Damerau Levenshtein, Jaro Winkler Abstrak.

The RoboCup Soccer is one of the largest competitions in the robotics field of research. It considers the soccer match as a challenge for the robots and aims to win a match between humans versus robots by the year of 2050. The vision module is a critical system for the robots because it needs to quickly locate and classify objects of interest for the robot in order to generate the next best action. In this paper, an approach using Convolutional Neural Networks for object detection is described. The soccer ball is the chosen object and three state-ofart convolutional neural networks architectures were trained for the experiment using data augmentation and transfer learning techniques. The models were evaluated in a test set, yielding promising results in precision and frames per second. The best model achieved an average precision of 0.972 with an intersection over union of 50% and 9.64 frames per second, running on CPU.

With the advent of neural networks and its subfields like deep neural networks and convolutional neural networks, it is possible to make text classification predictions with high accuracy. Among the many subtypes of naive Bayes, multinomial naive Bayes is used for text classification. Many attempts have been made to somehow develop an algorithm that uses the simplicity of multinomial naive Bayes and at the same time incorporates feature dependency. One such effort was put in structure extended multinomial naive Bayes, which uses one-dependence estimators to inculcate dependencies. Basically, one-dependence estimators take one of the attributes as features and all other attributes as its child. This chapter proposes self structure extended multinomial naïve Bayes, which presents a hybrid model, a combination of the multinomial naive Bayes and structure extended multinomial naive Bayes. Basically, it tries to classify the instances that were misclassified by structure extended multinomial naive Bayes as there was no direct dependency between attributes.
