The aims of this research was to study the effect of using fermented onggok in ransum to native chicken performance. The design used was completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatment i.e : R1 (10%), R2 (15%), R3 (20%), R4 (25%) and R5 (30%) with 4 replications. The ransum was composed with  protein (18%) and  calorie (2900 kcal/kg). Result of research shows that using fermented onggok had highly significant effect (P< 0.05) towards the feed consumption, body weight gain and feed conversion  of buras. It was concluded that using fermented onggok could increase highly body weight at level 15%.

The aim of the study was to know the effect of Curcuma longa as herbal feed additive on feed consumption, daily body weight gain and feed conversion ratio of super native chicken. The research was conducted at Kemukus Village, Ketapang District, South Lampung Regency. The experimental used 80 unisex of super native chicken 5 weeks old. They were feed a ration with control ration + 0% turmeric flour (P0), control ration + 0,04% turmeric flour (P1), control ration + 0,08% turmeric flour (P2) and control ration + 0,12% turmeric flour (P3) during 30 days. The control ration containing 21% crude protein and 3150 kcal/kg metabolism energy. The study used a quantitative metodh with completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The results showed that the addition of turmeric flour (Curcuma longa) up to 0,12% was affected (P 0,05) on daily body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. This study was aimed to determine the effect of providing a combination of tofu dregs fermentation with commercial feed on the growth of super native chickens. The research was being conducted in June-September 2019 at the Integrated Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, University of Sembilanbelas November Kolaka. The materials were used in this study were super native chicken, fermented feed, and commercial feed (Malindo). The fermented feed consists of tofu dregs, yellow corn, fine rice bran, starch, molasses. Tools that used were digital scales, pans, tarpaulins, cages, feed containers, drinking containers, cables, lamps, sacks, plastic polybags, sacks, feed grinding machines, gas, hoses, buckets, basins. This research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) 4 treatments three replications with each test consisting of 8 super native chickens. The parameters observed were Weekly Consumption, Weekly Body Weight Gain (WBWG), and Feed Conversion. The results showed that the influence of feed consumption was not significant (P> 0.05), while the WBWG and Feed Conversion were significantly different due to treatment. So it can be concluded that the use of a combination of fermented tofu pulp and commercial feed with a ratio of 60% and 40% can increase weekly body weight gain and decrease feed conversion so that the use of feed is more efficient

ABSTRACT. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji perkembangan bakteri usus halus dan performan ayam kampung silangan kampung-leghorn (KL) akibat ditambahkan ekstrak umbi dahlia dalam ransum. Ternak percobaan yang digunakan adalah persilangan ayam kampung silangan KL sebanyak 200 ekor umur 22 hari dengan rata-rata bobot badan 180,46 ± 1,21 g. Bahan perlakuan meliputi umbi dahlia, ethanol 70%, kertas saring halus serta bahan pakan penyusun ransum (jagung giling, bekatul, bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, CaCO3 dan mineral dan vitamin mix). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan (masing-masing unit percobaan diisi 10 ekor). Perlakuan yang diterapkan meliputi: P0=Ransum kontrol/RK, P1=RK+0,39% ekstrak umbi dahlia, P2=RK+0,78 ekstrak umbi dahlia, dan P3= RK+1,17 ekstrak umbi dahlia. Parameter yang diukur meliputi populasi bakteri asam laktat, Escherichia coli, pH digesta tiap masing-masing segmen usus halus dan pertambahan bobot badan harian (PBBH). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji sidik ragam dan jika berpengaruh nyata dilakukan uji beda nyata Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak umbi dahlia berpengaruh nyata terhadap populasi bakteri asam laktat, Escherichia coli, pH digesta tiap masing-masing segmen usus halus dan PBBH. Kesimpulan adalah penambahan ekstrak umbi dahlia sampai taraf 1,17% sebagai sumber inulin di dalam ransum dapat meningkatkan populasi bakteri asam laktat, menurunkan pH dan Escherichia coli pada masing-masing segmen usus halus serta memperlambat laju digesta dan meningkatkan PBBH.  (Population of small intestine bacteria and performance of native chicken-leghorn crossbreed duo to feeding of dahlia tuber extract) ABSTRAK. This study aims to examine the development of small intestine bacteria and the performances of native chicken-leghorn crossbreed due to the addition of dahlia tuber extract in the diet. Experimental animals were 200 unsex native chicken-leghorn crossbreed, 22 days old with an average body weight of 180.46 ± 1.21 g. Treatment materials include dahlia tuber, ethanol 70%, fine filter paper and feed stuff (yellow corn, rice bran, soy bean meal, fish meal, CaCO3, and vitamin-mineral mix). The present experiment was assigned in a completely randomized with 4 treatments and 5 replications (10 birds each). The treatments were: P0=Control Diet/CD, P1=CD+0,39% dahlia tuber extract, P2=CD+0,78% dahlia tuber extract and P3=CD+1,17% dahlia tuber extract. Parameters measured were the number of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB), Escherichia coli, intestinal potential hydrogen (pH) (duodenal, jejunal and ileal), rate of passage and daily body weight gain (DBWG). Data were subjected to ANOVA and followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test on 5% level. The results indicated that feeding native chicken-leghorn crossbreed with the diet containing dahlia tuber extract (DTE) significantly (P0.05) increased LAB population and DBWG, decreased E. coli population and intestinal pH, and slow the rate of passage down. In conclusion, feeding of dahlia tubers as a source of inulin in the form of dahlia tuber extract to a level of 1.17% increased the population of lactic acid bacteria, reduced pH and Escherichia coli in each segment of the small intestine and retard the rate of digestion and increased body weight gain.

A total of 270 native chickens of two months of age were reared up to their six months of age under three densities D1, D2 and D3 (0.186, 0.279 and 0.372 m2/bird) and three flock sizes F1, F2 and F3 (20, 30 and 40 birds/flock) to find out the effect of density (D) and flock size (F) on the growth performance of native chicken under intensive system of management. Body weight gain and feed intake were higher (5.62 & 5.39 and 50.17 & 50.42) and feed conversion ratio and mortality were the lower (9.48 & 10.02) in D2 unit and (12.01 & 13.05) in F2 unit. On the other hand, body  weight gain was the lowest (4.81) in D3 unit. Feed intake was the lowest (49.25) in D1 unit with the highest (11.70) FCR value. Body weight gain was found to be the lowest (4.81) in F3 unit but its FCR and mortality rate were the  highest (11.25 and 17.71). Feed intake was observed to be the lowest (49.17) in the F1 unit. Considering the growth  performance of native chickens under different densities and flock sizes, it could be concluded that flock size F2 (30 birds/flock) performed better at the density level D2 (0.279 m2/bird) than other densities and other flock sizes.   DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jbau.v10i1.12040   J. Abstract. In this study, body weight and dry matter intake from birth to 460 days of age of Friesian (F), Limousin x Friesian (LixF) and Piemontese x Limousin (PixF) cattle fed individually under intensive feeding system were analyzed. Growth curve parameters of body weight and dry matter intake were investigated by using Gompertz model. No significant differences between genotypes were found in growth curve parameters for dry matter intake while there was significant genotype effect on integration constant, absolute weight gain at birth, degree of maturity at birth and absolute body weight gain from birth to 6 months of age for body weight. Mean values of growth parameters for body weight in F, LixF and PixF were: mature weight 744, 801 and 743 kg; integration constant 2.97, 3.02 and 2.81; maturity rate per day 0.0045, 0.0042 and 0.0047; age at inflection point 245, 270 and 227 days; weight of inflection point 274, 295 and 273, respectively. Body weight at birth for F, LixF and PixF were 38.6, 44.4 and 49.1. Absolute body weight gain from birth to 6 months of age for F, LixF and PixF were 24.8, 21.9 and 25.3. PixF exhibited higher maturity rate and reaching mature weights younger than F and LixF. Mature weight for body weight had positive phenotypic correlations with mature weight parameter for dry matter intake whereas there was a negative phenotypic correlation between mature weight for body weight and maturity rate for dry matter intake in all genotypes. The result shows that increasing intake is a result of body weight increased. On the other hand feed intake rate decreased as body weight increased. Considering the development period, from birth to 6 months of age, there was significant difference between genotypes for absolute body weigh gain and absolute dry matter intake whereas these parameters did not differ significantly between 6 and 16 months.

Abstract The use of fermented sago waste (9 days incubation time) in the ration of native chicken is studied. 100 chicks of 7 days old native chicken were used. The experiment is being conducted in a completely randomized design in which the animals were divided into four treatments of ration. Each treatment was replicated five times. The experimental rations are: R0 (0% fermented sago waste), R1 (5% fermented sago waste), R2 (10% fermented sago waste) and R3 (15% fermented sago waste). Parameters measured were feed intake, feed conversion, body weight gain and carcass percentage. It appeared from this experiment that feeds intake were similar between birds. In grower birds, the use of fermented sago waste in the rations had no significant effect on feed intake. In both, starter and grower birds body weight gain was higher for birds consuming control ration than for those consuming ration with fermented sago waste. The use of 5 up to 15 percent fermented sago waste in the rations significantly affects feed conversion and carcass percentage in both, starter and grower birds.

The aim of the study was to determine the development of ramie plants (Boehmeria nivea L. Gaud) and the effect of using ramie leaves on feed on the body weight gain of Wonosobo Sheep (Dombos). Research on the development of ramie plants using survey methods in the area of ramie plant development in Wonosobo Regency. While the research on the use of ramie leaves for fattening was carried out in Butuh Village, Kalikajar District, Wonosobo Regency in 2018. 21 male Dombos were divided into 3 feed treatments with forage proportions of 70%, 50% and 30 ramie leaves respectively. %. The results showed that currently ramie plants were being developed in Wonosobo Regency by CV. Ramindo Berkah Persada Sejahtera in Gandok Village, Kalikajar District, Wonosobo Regency, Central Java. Until now the area of the crop has reached 13 ha. Of this area will produce ramie leaves 195,000 kg / year. If one sheep needs 4 kg of ramie / tail / day leaves, then the potential capacity of sheep is 135 heads / year, if the given one is 50% then the Jurnal Litbang Provinsi Jawa Tengah, Volume 16 202 Nomor 2 – Desember 2018potential capacity is 270 heads / year and if it is reduced again to 25% of ramie leaves then the potential capacity 440 heads / year. The use of ramie leaves as a feed for Wonosobo Sheep fattening can be given as much as 30% in fresh form.
