A study of the effect of different composts: horse manure and broiler chicken manure and the influence of flushes during the growing cycle on the carbohydrates and mineral composition of mushrooms (<i>Agaricus bisporus</i>) was carried out. In this study the strain Somycel 11 was used. It was found that mannitol, glucose and fructose contents in mushrooms growing on broiler chicken manure were significantly higher than on horse manure. Noticeable differences of macro- and microelement contents were observed, depending on the size of the fruit-body, flushes and type of compost. Phosphorus content in mushroom tissue of the first three flushes growing on horse manure was 2.7 times higher than in those from broiler chicken manure. Boron level in mushrooms in all flushes growing on broiler chicken manure was four times higher as compared with that on horse manure.

The effect of two different composts: horse manure and broiler chicken manure and the influence of flushes during the growing cycle on some chemical components contained in the mushroom (<i>Agaricus bisporus</i>) was studied. The strain Somycel 11 was analyzed. The following determinations were made: dry matter, total nitrogen and crude protein, nitrates, nitrites and amino acids composition. It has been noted that the crude protein from. combined flushes III to VI of mushrooms cultivated on horse manure was about 24% higher than in those grown on broiler chicken manure. Some changes in amino acids composition, especially lysine, histidine, arginine, aspartic acid, serine, methionine, glutamic acid and alanine were observed, depending on the size of the fruit-body, flushes and type of compost.

Everywhere in the world button mushroom is cultivated on heat-treated horse manure or on a compost mixture of straw, horse manure and chicken manure. In the ZKI trials continued on straw which seemed to be a simple and cheap substrate. To improve yield the N-content of the straw was increased by mixing it with wheat bran, alfalfa flour and ProMycel. Enriching agents were added to the dry heat-treated straw (100 "C) at 1, 2, 3 weight per cent. All the 3 agents increased yield as related to control. The highest yield was obtained with ProMycel.

The Utilization of Oil Palm Midrib-leaf and Chicken Manure for Making Bokashi Fertilizer in the Women's Farmers Group Padang Baru Babatan, Seluma, Bengkulu The purpose of the community service program is to utilize agricultural waste, namely oil palm midrib-leaf and chicken manure which are often found in this Babatan Village, Sukaraja Subdistrict, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu. In addition, this program was aimed to increase knowledge and skill to produce bokashi fertilizer with raw materials found around them. The methods used were lecture, demonstration plots, and mentoring. The results of the activity were the increasing of family income by making bokashi utilizing waste raw materials around their lives, namely bokashi made from palm fronds and broiler chicken waste that is ready to be sold. In limited quantities, they have been able to sell their products to meet the needs of other farmer groups or the general public in need.

The worldwide boom of biochar and pyrogenic carbonaceous material application as a potential soil additive has brought about not only agricultural benefits such as enhanced crop yield, nutrients supply (P), and soil organic carbon increase, but also, on the other hand, environmental risk of organic (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)) and potentially toxic element (PTE) penetration into arable soils. Therefore, our study assessed pyrogenic carbonaceous materials (PCM) produced from the P-rich feedstocks—chicken manure (CM) and bone meal (BM)—as promising and safe alternatives for inorganic P fertilizers. Pyrogenic materials produced in the process of slow pyrolysis at residence time 2 h, 400 and 500 °C, were characterized by determination of pH, electrical conductivity (EC), elemental analysis of total C, H, N, S scanning electron microscopy (SEM), total content of P, selected potentially toxic elements (PTEs), and available forms of PTEs and P by diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) and calcium-acetate-lactate (CAL) extractions. CMPCM4, CMPCM5, BMPCM4, and BMPCM5 were characterized by determination of total 16 US-EPA (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency) PAHs by toluene extraction protocol and available concentrations by Tenax resin approach. Additionally, CMPCM4, CMPCM4, BMPCM4, and BMPCM5 were tested in earthworm avoidance test with Eisenia foetita and short-term rye-seedling germination test. Obtained results showed decreasing of total carbon in the order of BM > BMPCM4 > BMPCM5 and increasing in the order of CM < CMPCM4 < CMPCM5. Total phosphorus content increased from 56.8 ± 1.7 g kg−1 (BM) to 85.2 ± 4.2 g kg−1 (BMPCM4) to 110.5 ± 7.0 g kg−1 (BMPCM5). In the case of chicken manure-derived pyrogenic materials, total phosphorus content increased in the order of CM (22.9 ± 2.0 g kg−1) < CMPCM4 (37.0 ± 4.5 g kg−1) < CMPCM5 (40.0 ± 3.4 g kg−1). Availability of selected PTEs and P decreased in pyrogenic materials compared to feedstock. Total concentration of ∑16-US-EPA PAHs in BMPCM4 and BMPCM5 was 3.92 mg kg−1; CMPCM4, 7.33 mg kg−1; and CMPCM, 6.69 mg kg−1. The Tenax-available ∑16-PAHs showed concentrations of 0.53 mg kg−1 for BMPCM4, 0.26 mg kg−1 for BMPCM5, 1.13 mg kg−1 for CMPCM4, and 0.35 mg kg−1 for CMPCM5. Total P concentrations determined in rye aboveground tissues showed the highest accumulation ability in the case of CMPCM5 compared to other samples. Pyrogenic carbonaceous materials produced from chicken manure and bone meal at 400 and 500 °C have the potential to be P slow release fertilizers and may be ecologically safe.

Abstract. This research aims to determine the effect of broiler manure doses and BiotamaxTM biofertilizers on growth and yield of Chinese cabbage in the Selat Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali from November - December 2018. The randomized block design (RBD) factorial, consisting of two factors was the experimental design used in this research. The first factor is the dose of broiler manure (A), composed of 3 levels, namely control (A0), a dose of 15 tons.ha-1 (A1), and 30 tons.ha-1 (A2). The second factor is the application frequency of biological fertilizers with four levels, namely control (B0) which was administered concurrently for seven days before planting at a dose of 0.09 g.plots-1. B1 with an administrative frequency of 7 and 14 days before and after planting (HST), respectively, with a dose of 0.045 g.plots-1. (B2) with a 3times administrative frequency of 7, 14, and 28 days before, after birth and after each dose of 0.03 g.plots-1 (B3). The results of the study, the frequency of giving BiotaMaxTM biological fertilizer at the same time, provided the heaviest oven-dry weight per crop, which was 9.39 g. The treatment of broiler chicken manure dose of 30 tons.ha-1 (A2), resulted in the best oven-dry weight canopy per plant at 9.26 g. The relationship between the dose of broiler chicken manure with canopy oven-dry weight per plant showed a linear relationship, namely y = 0.0608x + 7.2483 (R2 = 32.53). The best economic weight per hectare is obtained in the provision of 30 tons.ha-1 (A2) broiler manure, weighing 30.10 tons.ha-1. The relationship between the dose of broiler manure and economic weight per hectare shows a linear relationship, y = 0.3247x + 21.699 R² = 59.88%. The frequency of giving BiotaMaxTM biofertilizers at the same time is 7 days before planting at a dose of 0.09 g.plots-1 (B1) gave the heaviest economic weight per hectare, at 28.21 tons.ha-1. The combination of broiler chicken manure dose and the frequency of BiotaMaxTM biofertilizer gave no significant effect (p≥0.05) on the growth and yield of Chinese cabbage.Keywords: broiler manure, biofertilizer frequency, petsaiAbstrak. Penelitian yang bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh dosis pupuk kandang ayam pedaging dan pupuk hayati BiotamaxTM serta interaksinya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil petsai dilaksanakan di Desa Selat, Kabupaten Buleleng, Bali pada bulan November - Desember 2018. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial, terdiri atas dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah dosis pupuk kandang ayam pedaging (A), terdiri atas 3 tingkat, yaitu kontrol (A0), dosis 15 ton.ha-1 (A1), dan 30 ton.ha-1 (A2). Faktor ke dua adalah frekuensi pemberian pupuk hayati dengan empat tingkat, yaitu kontrol (B0), pemberian sekaligus yaitu 7 hari sebelum tanam dengan dosis 0,09 g.petak-1 (B1); frekuensi pemberian 2 kali yaitu 7 hari sebelum tanam dan 14 hari sesudah tanam (hst) dengan dosis setiap pemberian 0,045 g.petak-1 (B2); frekuensi pemberian 3 kali yaitu 7 hari sebelum tanam, 14 hst dan 28 hst dengan dosis setiap pemberian 0,03 g.petak-1(B3). Hasil penelitian, frekuensi pemberian pupuk hayati BiotaMaxTM sekaligus, memberikan berat kering oven tajuk per tanaman terberat, yaitu 9,39 g. Perlakuan dosis pupuk kandang ayam pedaging dosis 30 ton.ha-1 (A2), menghasilkan berat kering oven tajuk per tanaman terbaik yaitu 9,26 g. Hubungan antara dosis pupuk kandang ayam pedaging dengan berat kering oven tajuk per tanaman menunjukan hubungan linier, yaitu y = 0,0608x + 7,2483 (R2=32,53). Berat ekonomis per hektar terbaik didapatkan pada pemberian dosis pupuk kandang ayam pedaging 30 ton.ha-1 (A2), yaitu seberat 30,10 ton.ha-1. Hubungan antara dosis pupuk kandang ayam pedaging dan berat ekonomis per hektar menunjukan hubungan linier, yaitu y = 0,3247x + 21,699 R²=59,88%. Frekuensi pemberian pupuk hayati BiotaMaxTM sekaligus yaitu 7 hari sebelum tanam dengan dosis 0,09 g.petak-1 (B1) memberikan berat ekonomis per hektar terberat, yaitu 28,21 ton.ha-1. ABSTRACT Mannitol, a six-carbon sugar alcohol, is the main storage carbon in the button mushroom, Agaricus bisporus. Given the physiological importance of mannitol metabolism in growth, fruit body development, and salt tolerance of A. bisporus, the enzyme responsible for mannitol biosynthesis, NADP-dependent mannitol dehydrogenase (MtDH) (EC 1.1.1.138 ), was purified to homogeneity, andMtDH cDNA was cloned, sequenced, and characterized. To our knowledge, this represents the first report on the isolation of a cDNA encoding an NADP-dependent mannitol dehydrogenase. TheMtDH cDNA contains an open reading frame of 789 bp encoding a protein of approximately 28 kDa. The N-terminal and internal amino acid sequences of the deduced protein exactly matched the ones determined from the purified MtDH subunit, whereas the amino acid composition of the deduced protein was nearly identical to that of the purified MtDH. The MtDH cDNA showed high homology with a plant-induced short-chain dehydrogenase from Uromyces fabae. Phylogenetic analysis based on amino acid sequences from mannitol(-1-phosphate) dehydrogenases indicated a close relationship between the substrate specificity of the enzymes and phylogenetic differentiation. Salt-stressed fruit bodies showed an overall increase in mannitol biosynthesis, as was evident from the increase in MtDH activity, MtDH abundance, and MtDH RNA accumulation. Furthermore, the MtDH transcript level seems to be under developmental control, as MtDH RNA accumulated during maturation of the fruit body.

It was aimed to evaluate the effect of doses of phosphorus and different doses of bovine manure on growth of melon Galia. The experiment was carried out in greenhouse utilizing pots filled with soil Chromic Luvissoil in design completely randomized with a 5 x 2 factorial arrangement, comprising five doses of bovine manure (0, 12, 16, 20, 24 t ha-1) and two doses of phosphorus (0 and 400 mg dm-3), with three replicates, totaling 30 experimental units. The results indicated that interaction of phosphorus with organic matter was significant effect on total dry mass of the melon plant. There was a reduction of the total dry mass when the plants were fertilized at the highest doses of bovine manure. The P content from leaf and stem increased gradually at higher doses of phosphorus. The phosphorus content in the soil increased according to the doses of organic material available.
