The purpose of this paper is to present the maintenance management status in Moroccan companies.The first part is based on the literature; it reviews the main maintenance models. The second part is resulted from a pilot survey about management maintenance in Moroccan companies.The study was performed by conducting a survey within 15 Moroccan companies, questionnaires were submitted to maintenance managers or production managers of those companies.The main objectives of this paper are to study the correlation between success factors of maintenance management in Moroccan companies and to give a global picture about maintenance management level in Moroccan companies. 

Strengthening of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) is one of the Malaysian government’s efforts in producing a skilled and semi-skilled workforce towards meeting the requirement from domestic industry. Under TVET education, the graduates will undergo a various of skills and technical training in either laboratories or workshops (L&W). Of significance, the equipment in L&W plays a vital role in the realization of the roles of TVET. It demand effective management tool and necessity to be in 100 percent availability. However, the literature portrays that there are some risen issues related to maintenance management of L&W, particularly related to resources such as inappropriate budget allocated for maintenance activity, unskilled staff, poor monitoring technique and utilization of conventional maintenance management technique. Hence, this study is aimed at exploring the uncovered issue related to maintenance management of L& W at the selected TVET institutions. Qualitative research methodology will be adopted in the study. Data will be collected at three TVET institutions from different region of peninsular Malaysia. The main concern of this study is three fold, first is to identify the critical success factors (CSFs) in managing the equipment of L&W in the TVET institution. The second part of this study will examine how the MM of L&W can be optimized and embraced the digital age. The study will taking into account the complex interplay between equipment or system in the L&W and the digital systems. In the third and final part of this study, those identified CSFs will be integrated towards a holistic framework to manage the L&W of TVET institution. The framework is beneficial for all stakeholders that directly or indirectly involve in managing, uplifting and sustaining the L&W of TVET institution.

Wellness of the patients correlated with the hospital building performance. For building to achieve it design objectives and provide value added services to owners, users and other stakeholders, maintenance functions are strategic. As a result, management of the maintenance of hospital buildings is a delicate and expensive task to perform. Despite the fact that there is a lack of representative data on the maintenance of hospital buildings in Malaysia, there is a growing concern surrounding the subject. Fire outbreaks and decay in hospital buildings suggest a need to conduct critical research to investigate the maintenance management practices of hospital buildings. This paper reports part of an ongoing research that aims to develop a maintenance model for hospital buildings. Hence, this current research reports the results of literature reviews and observations on hospital buildings in Malaysia and their maintenance practices. Upon reviewing the literature, a conceptual framework of maintenance model for hospital buildings was proposed. The research found that the current approaches to maintenance management in the hospital buildings were corrective, fragmented, cost-driven and expensive. The procurement of maintenance services was mainly outsourcings. All these call into question, the decision making processes of the hospital maintenance organisations. Collectively, the above considerations have led to the formulation of the main research question- what are the critical success factors [CSFs] for the maintenance of hospital buildings? The current study also discussed a proposed research methodology for the main research. Furthermore, issues pertaining to the research design, ontology and epistemology were briefly discussed. It was established that to enrich the findings of the main research, it was imperative to collect primary data using both quantitative and qualitative research paradigms.

Since 2017, the State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection of North Rhine-Westphalia (LANUV) has established an operational environmental and sustainability management and set specific objectives to reach operational carbon neutrality. In this context, central questions aim at the availability of financial and human resources, the competition with other duties as well as the necessary involvement of the staff. Based on the practical example of LANUV, this article presents concrete activities, e.g., in context of mobility or human resources, as well as the challenges connected to them. While single measures do have a positive impact, a structural approach, like the set-up of an environmental management system (e.g., EMAS—Eco-Management and Audit Scheme), is found to be more effective. In addition, success factors are identified such as distinct structures and responsibilities, a capable person in charge of the process, and commitment on the management level, as well as challenges like the lack of governmental objectives and obligations or limited human and financial resources. This article follows the idea of a case report in a transdisciplinary manner, presenting ideas for enhancement and shedding a light on a possible spread of sustainability endeavors to other national institutions.

Maintenance and Operation Blueprint for Iskandar Malaysia was established to ensure local authority immovable asset maintenance management is in line with Government Asset Management Policy 2009. This paper deals with investigation on the challenges in the implementation of Maintenance and Operation Blueprint Plan for Iskandar Malaysia among five local authorities in Iskandar Malaysia. A total of 25 respondents have been selected and interviewed. The data have been analyzed qualitatively. Base on the interview, the results show that there are challenges to implement maintenance and operation blueprint in local authority immovable asset maintenance management which are no clear direction from the top management to implement the Maintenance and Operation Blueprint for Iskandar Malaysia, lack of staff to implement the Maintenance and Operation Blueprint for Iskandar Malaysia, did not have enough time to implement the Maintenance and Operation Blueprint for Iskandar Malaysia and the high cost required to implement the Maintenance and Operation Blueprint for Iskandar Malaysia. This article can serve as a foundation for future studies in critical success factors to implement immovable asset maintenance and operation blueprint. A future study investigating critical success factors to implement immovable asset maintenance and operation blueprint would be very interesting to produce a new approach for successful blueprint implementation.

The aim of this study is to provide an insight into the factors that influence the successful implementation of knowledge management and organizational performance in Saudi Arabia’s telecommunications industry. One thousand copies of survey questionnaires were sent to targeted telecommunication organization and they were distributed by hand. Middle management level was chosen to participate in this study due to their importance as stressed by many knowledge management researchers. Out of the 1000 questionnaires distributed, 441 complete questionnaires were successfully collected and used for data analysis. There is still a lack of the knowledge management research in the Saudi Arabia context. The present research focus-es on telecommunication industry in Saudi Arabia. The result of this research will be able to provide an insight into what are the overall perception overall perception of knowledge management and how various knowledge management elements (preliminary success factors, strategies and processes) affect the successful implementation of knowledge management and its organizational performance among the telecommunication organizations in Saudi Arabia. The findings are useful for the telecommunication industry. The present research serves as one of the pioneer studies that focuses on telecommunication industry in Saudi Arabia. The empirical insights from this study contributes to successful implementation of knowledge management in the telecommunication industry in Saudi Arabia.

The issues of sustainability in road maintenance management have been widely discussed in recent years. In some countries the maintenance of roads were based on selected indicators or commonly known as key performance indicators. In some countries such as Indonesia the allocation of budget and road maintenance planning were based on the age of these roads. The budget for and the planning of roads based on age have resulted in poor road conditions in Indonesia. The main objective of this study is to develop a sustainable road maintenance and management model (SRMM model) for the city of Padang, West Sumatrea that are in consonant with the vision, mission and goals of road authority towards meeting sustainable road maintenance management program. Using data obtained from selected roads in that city, after reviews of literature to identify key factors that contributed to the sustainable maintenance and management of roads, an opinion survey was conducted. Eleven experts in the field of road infrastructure and facilities management were selected as respondents. These experts were asked to identify the key factors that contributed to the quality of road maintenance management. Using the cut-off point approach, ten KPIs listed from the reviews are connected with the vision, mission and goals of the Directorate General of Highways, Ministry of Public Works Republic of Indonesia as the road authority. Respondents were asked to provide an assessment of the criticality level of the KPIs to the vision, mission and goals. Based on the calculation results, ten CSFs were identified to develop the (SRMM) model. The use of SRMM model based on statistically selected CSFs by the road authority is anticipated to help develop a reliable and sustainable road maintenance management system in Padang.
