This literature deals with the conflicts experienced by the indigenous people from the Tapuya Kariri tribe, who live in São Benedito, Ceará, and whose tribe has been suffering to sustain its lifestyle and, consequently, the bond among the people. The relevant factors that inspired the development of this paper are the need for discussing the challenges faced by the Tapuya Kariri people as well as listing the involved parts in fights for lands, which are holy in their majority. Thus, the emphasis is on the principal issues involving the indigenous people and those with whom they relate in places the consider to be sacred, on the complexity involving these social interactions and on the confrontation resulting from the struggle to sustain the lifestyle and uniqueness of the abovementioned people.

The competition among the shops is diverse to attract costumers in forns of the menus, drinb, hotspotfacility, live music, etc.Nearly every night especially on Scurdays or &ring holidays, thecoffee shops become the main destinations of people. The phenomenon is interesting to study especially the attitudes of the castomers of the coffee shops in Yogtalrarta. With the reason, this research attempts to see the influmce ofemotional branding and brand identity on the loyalty of the anstomers of the coffee shops in Yogtakarta.To lotow the inJluence, there were 200 questionnatres distributed to the people who have visited od shopped in the coffee shops in Yogtalarta &tring six montlzs since this research began. The analysis instrwnent to arutwer the lrypothesis is Strtrctural Equation Model (SEM).  The analysis indicates o significant influence on the relational vwiable on the brand as person, the fue serutes uperierce variable toward the brand as prgfluct, the imagery variable toward the brands as pro&tct, thebrand as person, and the Walty, as well as the brond as person variable toward loyalty. The importance of this research lies in identifying the significance of giving due regard to the jurisprudential maxims, especially those related to judicial work. Islamic jurists have paid attention to the maxim of “lot upon dispute” to console the souls and reconcile litigants. This maxim represents the highest and loftiest degrees of social interactions in the Islamic community depending on a prudent Quranic provision and wise prophetic Sunnah. This study is divided into three subjects: First: the definitions of study terms. Second: the researcher addresses the impact of the maxim in the judiciary literature and related topics in the code of procedures, personal affairs and civil transactions. Third: the researcher mentions some exceptions of maxim and the characteristic of lot, then clarifies the legal status of the maxim. The researcher concludes the study with the most important results, such as the jurisprudential maxim combines different issues in a phase of an eloquent meaning and precise wording. Jurists adopt this maxim more than the people of law do in order to achieve justice and block the accusation door. The study refers also to the necessity that those who work in the judiciary work should consider these jurisprudential maxims through establishment and application. Judge or arbitrator shall also act upon this maxim, and seek to reconcile between people through balloting. In addition, the specialized colleges and universities shall adopt the “lot upon dispute” maxim, and exert due diligence in studying it and any subdivided contemporary issues.

Anthropocentric paradigm has distanced humans from nature, as well as causing the humans themselves become exploitative in attitude and do not really care about the nature. In relation, ecological crisis also can be seen as caused by mechanistic-reductionistic-dualistic of Cartesian science. The perspective of anthropocentric is corrected by biocentrism and ecocentrism ethics, particularly Deep Ecology, to re-look at the nature as an ethical community. The concept of ecoculture is already practiced from the beginning by indigenous or traditional societies in elsewhere. The perspective of the human being as an integral part of the nature, and  the behaviour of full of resposibility, full of respect and care about the sustainability of all life in the universe have become perspectives and behaviours of various traditional people. The majority of local wisdom in the maintenance of the environment is still surviving in the midst of shifting currents waves by a pressure of anthropocentric perspective. There is also in a crisis because a pressure of the  influences of a modernization. While others, drifting and eroding in the modernization and the anthropocentric perspective.In that context, ecoculture, particularly Deep Ecology, support for leaving the anthropocentric perspective, and when a holistic life perspective asks for leaving the anthropocentric perspective, the humans are invited to go back to thelocal wisdom, the old wisdom of the indigenous people. in other words, environmental ethics is to urge and invite the people to go back to the ethics of the indigenous people that are still relevant with the times. The essence of this perspective is back to the nature, back to his true identity as an ecological human in the ecoreligion  perspective.

Este trabalho é proveniente de um estudo desenvolvido na Comunidade Indígena Itxala, município de Santa Terezinha, Estado de Mato Grosso, acerca das práticas socioculturais empreendidas pelos indígenas Iny-Karajá em distintas atividades cotidianas que contemplam as paisagens de manifestações culturais e originárias do povo das águas. Como ponto de partida, trazemos a seguinte indagação: Em que termos é possível etnografar os saberes originários do povo Iny-Karajá na perspectiva de mobilizar e potencializar ações educativas para a sala de aula? Nesse sentido, objetivamos descrever as práticas socioculturais que podem mobilizar e potencializar atividades para o ensino de Ciências e Matemática. O estudo pauta-se na abordagem qualitativa de cunho etnográfico, permitindo evidenciar as impressões e as percepções dos professores, por meio da entrevista narrativa e da participação para observar o cotidiano desses indígenas no decurso da realização de suas práticas socioculturais, com destaque para as pinturas corporais e as ações educativas. Nossas reflexões evidenciam, dentre outras possibilidades, o compartilhar de novos conhecimentos e de atividades escolares na e para a sala de aula mediadas por elementos socioculturais do contexto comunitário, emergindo a negociação de significados como estratégia mediadora e potencializadora do aprendizado de Ciências e Matemática no contexto escolar local.Palavras-chave: Práticas socioculturais. Ensino de Ciências e Matemática. Abstract: This work comes from a study developed in the Itxala Indigenous Community, located in the municipality of Santa Terezinha, State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. It is focused on addressing socio-cultural practices of the Iny-Karajá indigenous people during their different daily activities, which include cultural and original manifestations of the people of the waters. As a starting point, we bring the following question: How is it possible to know, through ethnography, the knowledge originating from the Iny-Karajá people in the perspective of mobilizing and enhancing educational actions for the classroom? So, we aim to describe the socio-cultural practices that can mobilize and enhance activities for the teaching of Science and Mathematics. This study is based on a qualitative ethnographic approach, allowing to evidence the impressions and perceptions of teachers through narrative interview and participation, with the intention of observing the daily lives of these indigenous people during the performance of their socio-cultural practices, with emphasis on body paintings and educational actions. Among other possibilities, our reflections show the sharing of new knowledge and school activities in and for the classroom, mediated by sociocultural elements of the community context, making the negotiation of meanings emerge as a mediating and enhancing strategy for the learning of Sciences and Mathematics in the local school context.Keywords: Sociocultural practices. Kartini's complex thinking about her nation was the result of observations and experiences that she experienced empirically. But Kartini's ideas about religion were explicitly influenced by the surrounding environment, both European and indigenous people themselves. This study focuses on the reconstruction of Kartini's thinking in the field of religion and the social background of the emergence of this thought. Therefore, this study uses historical methods with a social history approach to identify Kartini's ideas in the religious field. The reconstruction of her ideas as one of the national integration efforts that cannot be separated from the influence of the religiosity and social background of the people around her. Kartini's thinking about religion was critical, open, and pluralistic, which was concerned with the division of the nation due to religious differences.

Lampung indigenous people have valuable local wisdom that has the values of character education. The purpose of this research is to form a form of support to the government that continues to campaign for character education as an effort to restore the original character of the moral Indonesian nation and this study also aims to discover how the values of character education in the local wisdom of Lampung indigenous people namely Nengah Nyappur. This research uses descriptive-qualitative method to explore various data with library research. Nengah Nyappur as one of the elements of the philosophy of life of the people of Lampung has a character value in the form of tolerance, courtesy, and cooperation. These three character values are rooted in the daily lives of the indigenous people of Lampung. Referring to the presidential regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 87 of 2017 concerning Strengthening Character Education, Education Units and School/Madrasah Committees consider the adequacy of educators and education personnel, availability of facilities and infrastructure, local wisdom and opinions of community leaders and or religious leaders outside the School/Madrasah Committee. The third point about local wisdom feels the need for writers to review as one of the bases of character education, the writer offers local wisdom of Lampung. The findings of this study are that the values contained in Nengah Nyappur are still very relevant until now and can be applied in the family environment, community environment, and school environment.

The prehistory of the people of Uruguay is greatly complicated by the dramatic and severe effects of European contact, as with most of the Americas. After the series of military campaigns that exterminated the last remnants of nomadic peoples, Uruguayan official history masked and diluted the former indigenous ethnic diversity into the narrative of a singular people that all but died out. Here we present the first whole genome sequences of the Indigenous people of the region before the arrival of Europeans, from an archaeological site in eastern Uruguay that dates from 2,000 years before present. We find a surprising connection to ancient individuals from Panama and eastern Brazil, but not to modern Amazonians. This result may be indicative of a distinct migration route into South America that may have occurred along the Atlantic coast. We also find a distinct ancestry previously undetected in South America. Though this work begins to piece together some of the demographic nuance of the region, the sequencing of ancient individuals from across Uruguay is needed to better understand the ancient prehistory and genetic diversity that existed before European contact, thereby helping to rebuild the history of the indigenous population of what is now Uruguay.

This study discusses Perdasus 23 Year 2008 about individual and communal rights of customary law society over the land through a case study in Jayapura and Biak Numfor. The special local regulation (Perdasus) is a part of the efforts to secure the customary society or the indigenous people of Papua. The aim of this study is to identify how far Perdasus 23 Year 2008 has been implemented in Jayapura and Biak Numfor. The study applies qualitative approach which data is collected through observations, interviews, and content analysis of related documents. The result of this study shows that Perdasus 23 Year 2008 is not implemented thoroughly. Although the regulation is not normatively implemented, it has been practically implemented through the initiatives of Jayapura and Biak Numfor government to carry out conflict resolution program in each region. In doing so, the government of Jayapura has done the communal right mapping of Port Numbay people, while the government of Biak Numfor issues a local regulation (Perbup) about the strategy of land conflict resolution by encouraging of the involvement of customary role and legitimation in the region. Eventhough these activities are not conducted in accordance with Perdasus 23 Year 2008, Jayapura has performed four substances of the “Perdasus”: research, mapping, management and identification, and land conflict resolution. Meanwhile, Biak Numfor regency has performed two substances: communal land management and land conflict resolution though they only fulfill some aspects of these substances when performing research and mapping. There are three aspects affecting the implementation of Perdasus in Jayapura and Biak Numfor. First, ineffective communication both from the policy maker to the policy implementer and from policy implementer to the people that causes confusion to the society regarding the policy. Second, the existing paradigm of local people who still believe that customary law is more powerful than civil law. Last but not the least is Government’s initiative to do an activity to protect the communal right of indigenous people of Papua.

Abstract Batsheva Goldman-Ida, art historian and museum curator, introduces the article by Jiří Mordechai Georgo Langer (1894, Prague–1943, Tel Aviv): “On the Function of the Jewish Doorpost Scroll,” presented for the first time in English translation, and originally written for the Freud journal Imago in 1928. Langer, a Hebrew poet and teacher of Jewish studies was a friend of Franz Kafka. Langer joined the Belz Hasidism from 1913–16 and was one of the people who introduced Kafka to Hasidism. Langer suggests an explanatory model for Jewish religious artifacts such as the Mezuzah and Phylacteries in the context of compulsion neuroses, referencing the rites of indigenous people and totem theory. The introduction provides background material on the author and details of his other books and endeavors, as well as a framework to better appreciate his poetry and scholarly work. Langer sought a revival of “comrade love” whose homerotic bias is of interest today. His essay on the Mezuzah opens up a range of questions on Jewish artifacts, psychoanalysis, and the origins of Jewish rites. Long left unnoticed, it challenges the current field of Jewish scholarship to rethink its methodology.

Although the first, pioneer missionaries of the D. R. C. Mission were not fully qualified medical doctors, they played a big role in introducing western medicine among the indigenous population and in this way countered the practice of the witch-doctors. With their limited knowledge of medicine, they knew enough to treat the indigenous people, their fellow missionaries as well as other people like government officials, planters and hunters in the central province, where they were stationed. They managed to save lives and started with health education to motivate the people to think and live more hygienic lives and thus uplift the standard of health of the country. One cannot but have admiration for their courageous perseverance and faith and the skilful way in which they applied their medical knowledge in the absence of a fully qualified medical doctor.
