Purpose Because of competition, residential property developers use a variety of promotional tools to gain recognition and increase their market share and the demand for housing, and to manage their customer relations. This study aims to examine what real estate developers did to detect the need for types of housing, and pricing and promoting housing. It also sought clues about how they manage customer relations in residential sales. Design/methodology/approach In this study, semi-structured interviews were conducted with real estate developers. This study has heuristic characteristics based on qualitative data. Document reviews, descriptive analysis and discourse analysis were carried out on the interview data and other sources. As purposeful sampling is generally used in qualitative studies; intensity sampling, homogeneous sampling, criterion sampling and snowball sampling were used together in this study. Findings The study found that real estate developers were inadequate at advertising and promoting, allocated little budget for promotion and did not use technology sufficiently. The real estate developers gave discounts at rates that did not actually desire, had to create payment plans, and as a result, they lost customers because they could not manage customer relations well. Research limitations/implications Interviews were conducted with 15 real estate developers who have been selling residential properties for more than 10 years in Süleymanpasa and Çorlu districts of Tekirdag. Data obtained are mostly qualitative. Originality/value This study aimed to determine real estate developers’ ability to implement a variety of promotional strategies and manage customer relations. Results and conclusions can offer significant clues about real estate developers with similar characteristics. Its conclusions of this study can be compared to similar studies of real estate developers in many regions of Turkey.

The evaluation of curriculum is significant in terms of curriculum's working and being developed effectively. There are a lot of curriculum evaluation approaches. Recently, one of the most widely accepted paradigms in the field of curriculum evaluation is the opinion that the participants of curriculum are vital for curriculum evaluation. In this study, the views of teachers, who are among the important participants of the curriculum, related to the evaluation of present curriculum and how the evaluation should be carried out were analyzed. In this regard, the aim of this research is analyzing the curriculum evaluation at elementary level in relation with teachers' views. The research being a descriptive study regarding defining a case, is designed according to qualitative method. Accordingly, semi-structured interviews were conducted with determined 11 teachers using critical case sampling and snowball sampling methods. The data was analyzed with descriptive analysis method and presented being supported by direct quotations. As a result of research, it is observed that teachers find the curriculum evaluation activities in our country insufficient. In parallel with the results, the use of Participant-Oriented Evaluation Approach widely in elementary curricula is recommended.

The population of international students has increased significantly at the University of Windsor in recent years, and the university takes a variety of actions to address several key issues of interest to international students, including academic integrity, English language development, and writing support. This chapter reports findings from a multi-year collaborative project that was designed to enhance international students' library and academic literacy, with a focus on the understanding of plagiarism and measures to prevent it. A number of workshops that involved students at different levels were delivered to students from the English language improvement, undergraduate, and graduate programs. Research data collected from these workshops indicate that students benefited from the workshops, although at different degrees because of various factors, such as academic discipline, English language proficiency, previous educational experience. Further research can be conducted to explore ways to optimize such programs to meet the needs of students, particularly international students.

The purpose of this study is to examine the post-migration experiences of Turkish women in Saudi Arabia. The author explores the reasons Turkish women immigrate to Saudi Arabia and identifies the challenges they encounter while living there. The author recruited 115 Turkish immigrant women through snowball sampling and conducted semi-structured interviews. The research data reveal the sociodemographic attributes of Turkish women immigrants and their narratives of the adaptation process. The interview data was analyzed using thematic analysis which suggested three salient categories: factors facilitating the adaptation process, including language proficiency and religion; barriers in the adaptation process, including environmental problems and challenges related to social and political structures of Saudi Arabian society; and coping mechanisms to navigate or overcome such challenges, including residing near a partners' workplace and other Turkish immigrants. The findings demonstrate the significance of gender identity for Turkish immigrant women's experiences in Saudi Arabian society.

Japanese universities are increasing their course offerings through English-medium instruction (EMI) and even full-degree English-taught programs (ETP), but language proficiency and the integration of language support courses and EMI classes remain challenges. English for academic purposes (EAP) courses might be used as a bridge to EMI coursework just as they assist international students coming to study in the UK. UK EAP programs are explored through statistics on international students, a description of testing and degree entry language requirements, and semi-structured interviews with 10 EAP program directors and course leaders who outline program funding and autonomy; program perception by university communities; teachers, course materials, goals, and objectives; program and teacher evaluation; teacher support and faculty development.
