Banking services play a key role in present competitive edge. Accordingly, service quality, satisfaction and performance have become an area of interest in such research field. An extensive review of literature revealed that very limited attention has been given to explore the borrower customers’ perspectives regarding the conventional public, private and specialised private banking. Therefore, this research strives to accommodate a developing perspective where conventional and non-conventional Islamic banks are operating and providing services to their customers. Data have been collected from 78 borrower customers to examine their perceived quality, satisfaction and performances of banks. The study revealed that service performance by the Islamic and conventional private banks were found well-organized in providing services and better than public banks. The study finally addressed the limitations and future research directions.

Financial deregulation and technological advancement have led the sri lankan banking industry to highly competitive environment. In sri lanka, the competition is not only among the local banks, but also from foreign banks. To stay competitive and strong, a bank’s customer retention is crucial. In this context banking institutions would like to know how the customers select their bank and how they perceive the performance of banks in such competitive environment. The researcher selected sample of 468 banking customers from public and private banks of sri lanka. Responses were analyzed and presented through descriptive, correlation and regression analysis. The findings showed that the security and service quality were the two most crucial factors when selecting a bank in sri lanka. Significant gender and education level factors in bank selection were observed. Study concludes that sri lankan private banks perform better on those factors than the public banks in sri lanka.

This paper employs a DEA-type Malmquist index approach to evaluate the impact of financial liberalization on the productivity changes of public, private and foreign banks in Turkey during the period between 1981 and 1990. The results indicate that all forms of banks have benefited from financial liberalization. However, foreign banks were found to be the most productive, followed by private banks and public banks respectively. The major source of productivity gains is scale changes for public and private banks and technical progress for foreign banks. It also seems that productivity growth indices of all banks converge towards the end of liberalization period.

Development must balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability; it is for this reason that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are integrated, in fact, action in one of them will affect outcomes in others. In consequence, research on the SDGs is broad, complex, and fragmented due to the great diversity of disciplines and approaches involved, making it difficult to obtain valuable and unbiased information for future studies. As a result, a comprehensive review of contributions could provide a comprehensive critical perspective. This article applies SciMAT software to analyze the evolution of this field of research through a systematic literature review of bibliographic records on the SDGs and a review based on bibliometric analysis of 10,272 selected records. Additionally, hidden themes and their development in this field from 1990 to 2020 have been identified to produce strategic diagrams, graphs of thematic evolution and performance indicators of the research field in different periods. The results obtained show a constantly evolving scientific field, from its initial focus on the millennium goals to the gradual inclusion of the current SDGs. They provide field experts with a comprehensive overview of the status quo and predict the dynamic directions of future research, serving as a basis for the development of new strategies for the implementation of the SDGs.

Purpose of this study is examining the cause of stress among selected private banking employees. Stratified sampling method was used to carry out the data collection. For this employee of various private banks were chosen. A questionnaire with 12 items with dichotomous (Yes-1, NO-2) were developed and tested for reliability and prior to the distribution of questionnaire. 253 respondents were selected from various private banks in Mysore district, Karnataka state India. The survey questionnaire was sent via email, requesting to complete it. The questionnaire includes 11 demographic information’s and statements to measure. Chi-Square analysis was carried out to examine the cause of stress among employee using SPSS21. We found that designations have significant influence on employee and The other factors of do not have any significant influence on employee. Therefore we concluded that in private banks demographic variable such as designation creates stress in all aspects. Future research should consider a larger sample from leading sectors where job natures are similar. Analysis should be more rigorous, where Amos could be used for analysis.

Purpose The paper aims to provide the necessary basis for a novel interdisciplinary research field. Various types and implementations of crowdsourcing have emerged in the market; many of them are related to logistics. While we can identify plenty of crowd logistics applications using information technology capabilities and information sharing in practice, theories behind this phenomenon have received only limited attention. This paper accounts for filling this research gap by analyzing the crowd’s contributions in logistics of goods and information. Design/methodology/approach This paper is part of an ongoing research endeavor in the field of location-based crowdsourcing. It represents conceptual work that builds on a literature review enriched with an in-depth analysis of real-world examples in the field of crowd logistics. Using a scoring method, we provide an example how a company may evaluate the alternatives of crowd logistics. The main approach is an analysis of variants of how the social crowd may be integrated in logistics processes. The work is conceptual in its core. Thereby, we use real-world examples of crowdsourcing applications to underpin the evaluated variants of crowd logistics. Findings The paper presents relevant theoretical background on crowd logistics. The authors differentiate between variants of crowd logistics with their flow of materials, goods and information. Thereby they zoom in the type, significance and process flow of the crowd’s contributions. They discuss potential advantages and challenges of logistics with the performing crowd and deeply discuss opportunities and challenges from a business and from an individual’s perspective. Finally, they highlight a route map for future research directions in this novel interdisciplinary research field. Research limitations/implications As this work is conceptual in its core, generalizations may be drawn only with great care. Still, we are in a position to propose a route map for further research in this area in this paper. Also the integration of an analysis of a scale of real-world applications allows us to highlight our research’s practical relevance and implications. Originality/value The main contribution of this paper is an in-depth analysis and consolidation of innovative crowd logistics applications to provide an overview on recent implementations. The authors propose a categorization scheme and contribute with a route map for further research in the field of crowd logistics.

The following study is conducted to measure and compare the performance of 32 Indian banks, 21 public banks, and 11 private banks, at two tiers during the period of 2008–2018. Industrial analysis of both the public and private banking sectors is conducted in the first tier, followed by an individual bank-level analysis at the second tier. Data analysis consists of deposits, assets, and equity as inputs to measure the outputs practicing data envelopment analysis techniques. The empirical results portray a mixed trend in various elements of efficiency. They reveal that with the common pledge to expand market share and performance, public and private banks have been improving and covering the highest efficiency level. However, at the industry level, the private banking industry has slightly better technical and pure technical efficiency results compared to the public banking industry. On the other hand, the public banking sector performed well compared to the private banking industry in the stipulated study period based on mean scale efficiency results.Generally, many studies on Indian Banking Industry focus on determinants of industrial banking growth indicators. Further, we examine Indian banking performance at the individual bank level by incorporating the latest available data. In terms of technical and pure technical efficiency, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd., a private bank, scored the highest at the individual bank level. The State Bank of Bikaner & Jai has the highest score in terms of scale efficiency and thus is the best example of a public sector bank. Despite the improvement in income and deposits in both types of banking, there is still room for public banks to redirect their short-term and long-term marketing and communication strategies to focus on targeting customers and enhancing management skills at the branch level.

Employee’s perception regarding fairness in the organization is termed as organizational justice. The objective of this paper is to study the antecedents and consequences of organizational justice on the basis of earlier relevant studies from the period ranging from 1964 to 2015. Previous research identified employee participation, communication, justice climate as the antecedents and trust, job satisfaction, commitment, turnover intentions, organizational citizenship behavior and performance as the consequences of organizational justice. Finding reveals the gaps existing in the literature and gives suggestions for future research work.

The present study identified the sources of job stress among marketing executives working in private banking sector of Punjab. A self-administered questionnaire consisting of personal information and items related to respondents job stress was used to collect the data from 600 marketing executives. The factors having potential to produce job stress identified through factor analysis are lack of clarity and growth, work-life imbalance, work overload, lack of autonomy, unachievable targets, poor communication system and poor interpersonal relations. The detailed findings and managerial implications for private banks are discussed.

In this chapter we consider collaborative remembering and joint activates in everyday life in the case of people living with dementia. First, we review past research of practices that scaffolds the participation of persons with dementia in everyday chores under different stages of dementia diseases. We do so by suggesting three analytical types of scaffolding: when the scaffolding practices (i) frame the activity, (ii) guide actions, or (iii) are part of repair activities. Second, we review two aspects of collaborative remembering that are especially important in the case of dementia: training of scaffolding practices, and the sustaining and presentation of identities through collaborative storytelling. Finally, theoretical and methodological tendencies of the research field are summarized and future research needs are formulated.

Despite the continuous interest in studying entrepreneurial teams, the relationship between team composition and, particularly, team diversity and performance remains fertile ground for active debate. Taking roots in the knowledge-based view and organizational learning literatures, this chapter argues that performance in entrepreneurial teams is contingent on (a) the overlap between team members’ knowledge/competences and the content of the performed tasks, (b) the duplication of the team members’ knowledge in the areas with that content, (c) the nature of tasks (exploration or exploitation), (d) the team’s flexibility to adapt to changes in the content and nature of those tasks, and (e) the rate of environmental change. Because an important source of ambiguity in the understanding of how team diversity and performance are linked ties to issues of how team diversity is conceptualized and operationalized, the chapter also proposes a new way of looking at diversity in future research.
