Taxes are critical for the country's development because they generate revenue used to expand the Indonesian economy. The Corona Virus outbreak has shocked the public during the government's campaign to raise public awareness about the importance of paying taxes. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the company continues to pay taxes and thus avoids spending taxes. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that may influence tax evasion by Indonesian manufacturing firms. This study employs qualitative research in conjunction with a literature review or a method of literature review. The researchers identified and analyzed 18 peer-reviewed journal articles over three years (2019-2021). According to the research findings, firm size, leverage, committee composition, and audit quality all have a significant positive effect on tax avoidance. Because researchers consider businesses to be taxpayers, it's natural that if the objective is to maximize profits, this tax avoidance action will become more aggressive during the pandemic.

ABSTRACT This paper investigates how effective internal control protects shareholders' welfare in the context of corporate tax avoidance. Prior literature documents a positive association between internal control weakness and low tax avoidance. In this paper, we re-examine this association and complement prior research by finding that the direction of the association between internal control and tax avoidance depends on the level of tax avoidance. Specifically, for firms with low (high) levels of tax avoidance, internal control quality is positively (negatively) associated with tax avoidance. In additional analyses, we further explore how internal control mitigates agency costs for state-owned enterprises and tunneling activities. We show that for state-owned enterprises, which have lower incentives to avoid tax, effective internal control prevents managers from paying more taxes to cater to the controlling shareholders' interests. We also find that the association between tax avoidance and tunneling is reduced by effective internal control systems. States around the world appear more determined than ever to end tax haven abuse. The new U.S. administration, for example, is taking action against both major tax haven problems: corporation income tax avoidance and personal income tax evasion. Some progress may be made. This essay argues, however, that only radically new policy will likely suffice either to shore up corporate tax revenues or to sharply diminish evasion. Global formula apportionment is needed if the corporate income tax is to be preserved, and only a combination of automatic information sharing among governments and source withholding can stamp out evasion. As in most areas of international economic policy, U.S. leadership is essential.

It can be argued that public organizations, in order to provide the public with sufficient services in the current, highly competitive and continuously evolving environment, require changes. The changes that become necessary are often related to the implementation of information systems (IS). Moreover, when organizations are faced with changes, a change management (CM) process needs to be put in place. CM theories that are currently available to practitioners and academics are often contradictory; they mostly lack empirical evidence and are supported by unchallenged hypotheses concerning the nature of the contemporary CM. The aim of this paper is, therefore, to identify critical success factors (CFSs) for CM in IS projects. In order to reach this aim an explanation of changes in public organizations and the nature of CM are presented. Following this, a framework of CFSs for CM in IS projects are identified based on the literature review. The paper also examines two IS projects and uses them to demonstrate CFSs influencing CM in IS projects in Polish pubic organizations. A discussion of the research findings is provided and the paper concludes with a presentation of the study’s contributions and limitations as well as the stream of future work.

Various cases that occurred in KAP are evidence of problems in the KAP environment that affect the quality of auditors in conducting audits. In conducting audits, independent auditors are required to observe professional principles, including professional responsibility, public interest, integrity, objectivity, competence, and professional prudence. However, various cases that arise within the Public Accounting Firm are one of the reasons for the reduced public trust in Public Accounting Firm services, one of which occurred in the case of violations committed by Hasnil M Yasin & Partners where the director of this Public Accounting Firm committed income tax evasion. in Langkat Regency under the demands of the Public Prosecutor Service along with the Langkat regional secretary Surya Djahisa. Hasnil is suspected of committing a criminal act of corruption that resulted in a loss of state funds of 1 billion rupiahs, therefore the researchers conducted tests in assessing competence, accountability, the application of the Code of Ethics and Leadership Styles that affect the quality of audits at KAP Medan city. The population and samples were taken with the saturation technique. The data analysis model uses structural models, measurement models, path diagram designs, conversion of path diagrams into a system of equations, estimates, the goodness of fit, and others to get the desired results with the help of the WrapPls program. The results showed that the competence, accountability, and code of ethics of Medan public accountants did not affect audit quality. Leadership style has an effect on audit quality at KAP Medan City.

This research aims to determine the influences of the company’s size, sales growth, and independent commissioner on the tax avoidance with audit quality as a moderating variable. The population of this research is the property and real estate companies registered on the Indonesia Stock Exchange within the period 2014-2017. The sample is selected using purposive sampling method covering 26 companies. The data analysis tools used are descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression with SPSS version 23. The results of the research show that company’s size and sales growth have a significant and positive effect on the tax avoidance, while the independent commissioner does not show any significant influence. The audit quality moderates the influence of sales growth on the tax avoidance, but it does not moderate the influence of the company size and independent commissioner on the tax avoidance. The future researchers are suggested to use other different proxies to measure the independent commissioner to describe the condition of the company’s independent commissioner. Keywords: Tax Avoidance; Company Size; Sales Growth; Independent Commissioner; Audit Quality
