LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in Chinese; abstract also in English.Primary and secondary physical education teachers play an important role in the education reform, which emphasizes on the holistic development and life-long learning. The 2002 Physical Education Immersion Program (Jiangsu-China), organized by The Hong Kong Institute of Education, provided an opportunity for physical education students to improve their teaching and sports skills through interaction with staff and students from Inland China. This paper describes the objectives, contents, and assessments of the outcomes of the program. By examining and comparing the current curriculum structures and teaching strategies in physical education between Hong Kong and Inland China through this experience, the author looks forward to the change of the future of physical education in Hong Kong with reflections and suggestions. The aim of these changes is to improve the physical education curriculum and teaching strategies in order to better meet the needs of the current education reform that is occurring in Hong Kong, Inland China and world-wide.中、小學體育敎師在全面實施素質敎育，培養具有創新精神和實踐能力的新型人材中扮演著重要的角色。高等師範院校體育敎育專業則是培養和訓練這支跨世紀新型體育師資隊伍的搖籃。如何在體育敎育專業的敎學大綱和課程設置中體現實踐的重要性，創造機會讓學生走出課堂，通過觀摩、交流和實踐的手段來提高其敎學能力，是關係到能否培養出適應未來挑戰的中小學體育師資的關鍵。本文介紹了香港敎育學院體育及運動科學系舉辦的首次體育沉浸課程(Immersion Program)(中國-江蘇)2002交流活動，並就該課程的目標、內容、效果進行了分析，及在對香港中、小學體育敎學的現狀與內地的體育敎學進行了比較後，作者探討了香港體育敎育專業敎學改革的方向，並提出了一些可行的建議，以供香港體育工作者參考。

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in Chinese; abstract also in English.Given that, at present, assessment in the Teaching Games for Understanding approach is at a developmental stage, this paper is to articulate an effective and efficient assessment blueprint for Physical Education teachers to adopt this new games teaching approach in the teaching of ball games in schools. Through a case study involving PE teachers, this researcher has confirmed that the proposed assessment method is both effective and has practical value. Basing on the findings, it is recommended that, during implementation, students should not be solely assessed by the teacher, but as well by their peers; such mode of assessment is strongly recommended by the Curriculum Development Council of Hong Kong.目前「領會敎學法」評估的方法仍在發展探索階段中。本文的目的是建議一種評估方法，讓體育敎師能在採用「領會敎學法」敎授球類課時，也可以採用一套有效及可行的評估方法，衡量學生的真正球類活動的表現。作者透過個案研究，印證這種評估方法能有效的量度學生球類活動的整體表現能力，和這方法在學校施行上也很容易。作者並建議，在評估過程中，除了敎師評估學生外，也採納學生互評方法，這評估安排，也是課程發展議會在體育課程改革中所提倡的多元化的評估策略和模式之一。

Background and purpose: The research literature in physical education (PE) is placing a growing emphasis on Meaningful PE (Beni et al, 2017) to transform PE to meet the needs of all students. The purpose of this research was to 1) identify the concepts of Meaningful PE that students found to be important and 2) distinguish which concepts have the most potential to provide students with Meaningful PE experiences.   The study: The project was conducted in three PE classes among grade 7 to 9 students in an urban secondary sports academy school in collaboration with their PE teachers. Data was collected using the GroupWisdomⓇ Concept Mapping (2021) platform and group interviews with the objective to have PE students and teachers conceptualize Meaningful PE. Findings: The study found that students’ and teachers’ context specific conceptualizations of Meaningful PE can be identified using GCM. The major tenet of Meaningful PE found was relationships. Student and teacher participants identified important concepts for Meaningful PE as a combination of statements within the clusters of kindness, physical activity, fun, and quality education. The findings call for a broad understanding of students within each school context in order to conceptualize meaningful physical education experiences.   Conclusions: It is my conclusion that involving students in the conceptualization of Meaningful PE by focusing on autonomous and inclusive relationships is of great importance to co-create Meaningful PE experiences. Secondary students were able to identify what is important for meaningful experiences in PE and how inclusive relationships can facilitate Meaningful PE experiences.

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in English; abstract also in Chinese.This paper presents a qualitative study with the use of the interpretive paradigm to capture subjective meanings that pre-service Physical Education (PE) teachers gave to their professional socialization process at the early stage of their two-year full-time teacher-training program. Data concerning their actions, feelings and reflection on their practical, pedagogical and theoretical modules were collected through interviewing and writing of reflective journal. Participants were analyzed according to their types namely, "athletes", "idealists", "pragmatists", "followers" and "the insecure group" while joining the program. It was interesting to find that they all articulated their professional learning to the "process knowledge" through experience rather than "propositional" one in the form of discipline based and theoretical conceptions regardless of their types. The findings provide information about how pre-service PE teachers learn and develop their professional knowledge, which in return, generate implications on how the Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) program can be implemented effectively in Hong Kong.本文章以詮釋理念來探索香港敎育學院體育學系本科生職化的過程，研究對象為二十位來自體育學系的本科生，對部份師資培訓課程及經歷作出回顧及分析，藉此了解其學習模式及職化過程，並對現有的課程作出了探討及建議。

The current social situation in the country obliges the school to provide its graduates with quality education; to develop their personally significant knowledge, skills and means of activities; to stimulate the desire for creativity, their own individuality. The development of an individual education trajectory for each student will help to master all of the above mentioned aspects. The purpose of the article is to elaborate a model and experimental methods aimed at training future teachers of Physical Education in using individual education trajectories. Unfortunately, modern teachers do not pay a due attention to the development of individual education trajectories. It is possible to assume that teachers are simply not ready for such an innovative type of activity. Thus, teachers of modern higher education institutions encounter the task to train future teachers, including the ones of Physical Education; to develop and implement students’ individual education trajectories. A particular attention should be paid to teaching students to develop their own individual education trajectory. Such trajectories will promote their self-development and self-realization in future professional activities.
