Purpose of this research study was to investigate the impact of job insecurity on interpersonal conflict. The study also explores the mediating role of insomnia and moderating role of neuroticism. The survey was conducted on female workers of different organizations located in Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Data were collected using questionnaire from 285 female workers. Results suggested that job insecurity is positively associated with interpersonal conflict, and insomnia plays its role as a mediator between job insecurity and interpersonal conflict; whereas, neuroticism moderates the relationship of insomnia and interpersonal conflict. The study concludes with some implications and provides directions for the future research.

The present study investigated the impact of execution planning on agile project success with the mediating role of information sharing and moderating role of organization effectiveness because of the highlighted importance of agile methodology in the project industry due to its interactive customer collaborative approach. For this purpose, data were collected from software industry in Pakistan who utilize agile methodology in their projects. 300 completed questionnaires were received from the distributed and 280 were utilized for data analysis. The results delineated that execution planning has positive and significant relationship with agile project success. Similarly, the results indicated that information sharing mediates the relationship between execution planning and agile project success. Furthermore, the data showed that organization effectiveness moderates the relationship of execution planning and information sharing. Lastly, we conclude with theoretical and practical implications as well as future research directions.

The objective of this study was to examine the impact of envy on interpersonal conflict, through the mechanism of schadenfreude and the moderating effect of work ethics, among nurses in Pakistan. Convenient sampling technique was used in order to draw the sample. Data were collected from 200 employed nurses who had been working at different levels in Pakistani hospitals. Regression analysis was run in order to test the hypotheses. Study findings suggested that Envy is positively associated with interpersonal conflict, while schadenfreude partially mediates this relationship. In addition, work ethics moderates the association such that it weakens the positive relationship between schadenfreude and interpersonal conflict. The paper concludes by discussing the limitations as well as future research directions.

The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of abusive supervision on the interpersonal conflict among teachers in the education sector of Pakistan. The study also explores the mediating role of breach of psychological contract and moderating role of locus of control in the proposed model. The survey was conducted on the teachers of different schools, colleges, and universities of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. Data was collected from 272 teachers using questionnaires. Results indicated that abusive supervision is positively associated with the interpersonal conflict. Moreover,locus of control acts as a strong moderator on the relationship of abusive supervision and interpersonal conflict such that it weakens the relationship. However, breach of psychological contract didn’t mediate the relationship of abusive supervision and interpersonal conflict.

Abstract. Marketers are increasingly relying on covert advertising tactics to persuade consumers. This empirical study selected the context of an emerging market to examine the effectiveness of product placements. Using an experimental design, we captured the affective and behavioral responses of young Indian adults. The results indicated that young adults are positive about product placements. The mediating role of brand attitude change in the relationship between attitude toward product placements and purchase intentions is established. The study provides valuable insights into the impact of execution factors on viewers’ responses. Implications and directions for future research are discussed based on the results of this study.

The importance of work engagement (vigor, dedication, absorption) in enhancing employee performance is a recognized area of research. In this competitive and hyper turbulent work environment, disengaged workforce is costly for any organization. Despite its importance, a very low rate of work engagement (i.e.5%) has been found in Pakistan. Drawing on conservation of resource theory (COR), this paper proposes a conceptual framework to find out the impact of despotic leadership behavior on work engagement of employees with a mediating mechanism of employee’s perception of job insecurity. In previous literature little research has been done on despotic leadership and no study has found on this relationship before.

Purpose The present study examined the relations of job insecurity with pay and incentive satisfaction and the role of overall justice in these relationships. Design/methodology/approach The authors surveyed employees of an industrial equipment sales firm located in the Southeastern United States. Surveys were completed by 151 employees using instruments assessing job insecurity, overall justice, pay satisfaction, and incentive satisfaction. Findings The study results indicated job insecurity is negatively related to both pay and incentive satisfaction. Further, the study found that overall justice mediated the job insecurity to pay satisfaction relationship, but not the job insecurity to incentive satisfaction relationship. Research limitations/implications Because overall justice only explained the job insecurity-pay satisfaction relationship, future research should examine other potential mediators to better understand these disparate effects when compared with incentive satisfaction. Future research should also examine our model with a larger sample using a time-lagged design to further mitigate the limitations of the study. Practical implications The results of this study suggest that employees who contain a strong fear of job loss tend to experience reduced pay and incentive satisfaction levels. Managers should do what they can to limit the impact of job insecurity on these attitudes and provide additional training to employees in coping strategies so that they might better deal with the job insecurity stressor. Originality/value Integrating the literatures on stress appraisal and organizational justice, the empirical model provides understanding of how job stressors and perceptions of organizational justice influence pay and incentive satisfaction.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the mediating role of trust in the relationship of justice and employee engagement (EE) in Indian B-schools. Design/methodology/approach – Multiple regression was carried out on the responses obtained from 320 academics working in different Indian B-schools. Findings – The results showed that vertical trust (VT) partially mediates the procedural justice (PJ) and the EE relationship. Distributive justice, PJ, VT and EE were found to be significantly correlated with each other. Research limitations/implications – A very important implication from the findings is that the research will help the Indian B-schools engage their employees in a better manner and face the challenging environment. Future research can be carried out on finding the mediating effects of leader member exchange on VT-EE relationships with other levels of higher education. Originality/value – The current study empirically proved that a good level of PJ leads to a high level of VT and which ultimately results in engaged academics in Indian B-schools.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating role of motivation between the relationship of perceived training utility and transfer of training. Data were obtained from 215 employees working in the banking sector. SPSS and AMOS statistical software were used to test the hypothesized model. Consistent with social cognitive theory, results suggested a significant positive relationship of perceived training utility with motivation to transfer and transfer of training. The results further revealed that the relationship between perceived training utility and transfer of training had an indirect effect via Motivation to transfer. This study has made a significant theoretical contribution to the literature by exploring the mechanism through which perceived training utility affects transfer of training. This study will help HRD professionals to understand the importance of perceived training utility in transfer of training.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, every domain of industry has experienced a severe economic downturn with concomitant stress throughout the economy. Employees working in government and private sectors are experiencing different psychological problems. The current study was conducted to investigate the role of work-related flow in the relationship of job insecurity with financial anxiety in the employees working in private and government sectors of Saudi Arabia. The sample comprised 1,195 employees, 886 females, and 309 males. The participants' ages ranged from 25 to 60 years. The Financial Anxiety Scale, Work-Related Flow Inventory, and Qualitative Job Insecurity Measures were found valid and reliable. Structural equation modeling was applied to test the associations. As hypothesized, the results indicated that job insecurity was positively related to financial anxiety, work-related flow was negatively associated with financial anxiety, and work-related flow mediated the relationship between job insecurity and financial anxiety. All these associations were significant regardless of gender, age, marital status, sector of employment, income, self-rated health, and COVID-19 infection status. Further research is needed to understand the impact of job insecurity on financial anxiety in-depth through the paths of work-related flow, especially in the midst of COVID-19.
