Education and sciences, that are accessible to all, is the focus of several complex and remarkable utopian visions from the 17th century. Particularly the life and work of Johann Valentin Andreae (1586-1654) shows the relation between the critique of social conditions and the idea of a better society. As many others at that time he favours a type of state marked as enlightened governance. However, his detailed description of the state “Christianopolis” from 1619, in which he addresses primarily the role of science and education in a society, shows significantly more independent concepts and implications. In his comprehensive explanation he specifies that science and education have certain responsibilities and importance for a better society. Those thoughts are meaningful and considerable both for philosophical and historical reflections of science and the vantage point of the present and shall therefore be the main focus of this article.

The flow of both productive and speculative investment into housing relates to the state of capital accumulation in other economic sectors, as hypothesised in the ‘circuits of capital’ argument, but it also relates to the incentive to ‘switch’ investment into and out of housing, and therefore to expectations of ground rent and the (changing) social conditions that enable ground rent extraction. This is the first of three papers in which the relationships involved in these processes are explored. A series of theoretical problems arising from the argument are dealt with, principally relating to its seeming economic determinism and to an inappropriately narrow treatment of crisis and social change. In the subsequent papers, in this journal, these various ideas will be used to reflect on housing market and related social change in Melbourne from the 1930s to the 1980s.

The article reveals and introduces into scientific circulation the previously unknown artistic source of Konstantin Andreyevich Somov’s early art – Jaspar de Isaac’s engraving “Narcissus”. There is traced the course of work with this one along with other art sources (works of European masters of the 16th—18th centuries depicting hunting scenes, paintings by Antoine Watteau, Jugendstil graphics), revealed the context of reference to it, and analyzed the stylistic features of including this source in Somov’s work on the watercolor “Rest after a Walk”. These tasks are addressed in the context of the role of artistic sources from the heritage of past eras in early works of Konstantin Somov. The topic’s relevance is determined by the fact that Jaspar de Isaac’s engraving “Narcissus”, made at the very beginning of the 17th century for a French edition of the “Imagines” by Philostratus the Elder, for the first time becomes the object of research as a source of Somov’s art. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that for the first time it attempts to identify (basing on a combination of formal and contextual analysis), and to use a source from the artistic heritage of France of the beginning of the 17th century in the work of K. Somov on the themes of the 18th century. The reveal of the source — the engraving “Narcissus” by J. de Isaac — made it possible to reconstruct the artist’s work on the “Rest after a Walk”. The article examines not only the sketch for this work from the collections of the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, but also the drawing “A Date” from the State Tretyakov Gallery. There is stated that it is a preparatory drawing for the watercolor “Rest after a Walk”, basing on the general iconography of the watercolor, sketch and engraving “Narcissus”. The author concludes that Somov’s appeal to the engraving by J. de Isaac was not conscious, it should be attributed to the phenomenon of artistic memory, and his probable acquaintance with it had taken place before the artist left for Paris in the autumn of 1897.

The article reveals the role of legal ideology and legal doctrine in shaping national legal culture. Stated about the absence in our society of well-established legal ideology and the necessity of its formation and implementation. Especially important is the latter, given the practice of continuous implementation in Ukraine of the constitutional and other «reforms» that only aggravate the situation of legal culture. It is noted that for the formation of legal culture in Ukraine, it is necessary to develop scientifically sound legal doctrine, which should be carried out appropriate legal policy of the state. However in Ukraine, the state and legal reform are implemented without a clear doctrinal approach, as indicated by a critical assessment of the judicial reform. On this basis we believe that the key to the domestic legal doctrine should be the issues of judicial reform and the development of legal science and education. Quality legal education is impossible without the legal science, which needs to develop scientifically sound theory of legal culture. Keywords: legal culture and national legal culture, legal doctrine, legal ideology, corruption.

Abstract: This article discusses the Asnaf zakat according to contemporary scholars, namely Yusuf Al-Qardawi and Wahbah Al-Zuhayli. This work aims to explain the similarities and differences in the thoughts of the two figures regarding asnaf zakat. The method used is library research by examining the books of the two figures, namely Fiqhuz Zakat and Islamic Fiqh wa Adilatuhu. It can be concluded that the thoughts of Yusuf Al-Qardawi and Wahbah Al Zuhayli on the eight groups of zakat recipients are not much different. It's just that there is a slight difference that is most significant in the fi sabilillah group where Yusuf Al Qardawi argues that this group is extended to the meaning of fighting in the way of Allah such as charity for the public interest, this is in accordance with the opinion of some scholars who expand the meaning of fi sabilillah. Meanwhile, according to Wahbah Al-Zuhayli the meaning of fi sabilillah is soldiers who fight but are not paid by the state, this is in accordance with Q.S ash-Shaff: 4. And from their opinion, Yu>suf Al Qard{awi's thoughts are the most relevant to the condition of the Indonesian state. The istinbath method used by the two figures is dominant in ijma'. And what influenced his thinking the most was the role of the teacher and the social conditions of the two figures.

The Marxist geographer, David Harvey, has written extensively and influentially about the production of space under capitalism and, in particular, uneven geographical development. This article is a Marxist critique of Harvey’s theory of uneven geographical development. It presents his theory around six interconnected theses: spatial concentration thesis, spatial dispersal thesis, surplus absorption or spatial fix thesis, uneven geographical development-as-ideology thesis, the uneven geographical development and the state connection thesis, and uneven geographical development–associated political thesis. His theory has shed light on certain aspects of the internal relation between capitalist accumulation and uneven geographical development, giving due emphasis to uneven geographical development’s contradictory character. It is, however, problematic on multiple grounds. It under-stresses the class relation, including the value-relation, between capital and labour, and correlatively fetishizes the power of spatial relations. While Harvey connects uneven geographical development to capitalist crisis, his theory of crisis is deeply inadequate. His theory also fails to systematically integrate the insights of state theory into it, and to the extent that the state is present, its essential class character remains under-emphasized. Finally, Harvey draws some conclusions about anti-capitalist political practice from his theory of uneven geographical development which are problematic from a Marxist vantage point. In particular, his view of the concept of the proletariat in Marxism and his scepticism towards the role of the proletariat in the fight against capital are contestable.

SummaryThe role of intravascular coagulation in the production of the generalized Shwartzman phenomenon has been evaluated. The administration of endotoxin to animals prepared with Thorotrast results in activation of the coagulation mechanism with the resultant deposition of fibrinoid material in the renal glomeruli. Anticoagulation prevents alterations in the state of the coagulation system and inhibits development of the renal lesions. Platelets are not primarily involved. Platelet antiserum produces similar lesions in animals prepared with Thorotrast, but appears to do so in a manner which does not significantly involve intravascular coagulation. The production of adrenal cortical hemorrhage, comparable to that seen in the Waterhouse-Friderichsen syndrome, following the administration of endotoxin to animals that had previously received ACTH does not require intravascular coagulation and may not be a manifestation of the generalized Shwartzman phenomenon.
