Vapor Pressure of a Swollen Crosslinked Elastomer
Abstract This investigation was undertaken with the aim of using vapor pressure measurements to study the configurational free energy changes involved in the isotropic dilation of a network. The main conclusion is that the assumptions implicit in this approach require further study. These same assumptions are involved in conventional determinations of crosslinking from swelling. There is reason to suspect that such measurements overestimate crosslinking.
