Edge detection is one of the most basic contents of image processing and analysis. The edge of the image contains the position and contour of the image, which is one of the basic features of the image. The accuracy of the traditional algorithm is not high because of the strong jitter of the target and the larger interference. The key to target edge detection lies in the extraction of effective features, and this can be properly realized with a feature extraction based on the depth-learning algorithm. In this paper, a method of sample synthesis is proposed, which is used for network training and can be used to detect small-scale moving targets in a limited sample space. A large number of experimental tests show that the algorithm can detect small moving target edges, showing high accuracy, real-time performance and strong robustness.

We present a new high resolution model of the Geomagnetic field spanning the last 121 years. The model derives from a large set of data taken by low orbiting satellites, ground based observatories, marine vessels, airplane and during land surveys. It is obtained by combining a Kalman filter to a smoothing algorithm. Seven different magnetic sources are taken into account. Three of them are of internal origin. These are the core, the lithospheric and the induced / residual ionospheric fields. The other four sources are of external origin. They are composed by a close, a remote and a fluctuating magnetospheric fields as well as a source associated with field aligned currents. The dynamical evolution of each source is prescribed by an auto regressive process of either first or second order, except for the lithospheric field which is assumed to be static. The parameters of the processes were estimated through a machine learning algorithm with a sample of data taken by the low orbiting satellites of the CHAMP and Swarm missions. In this presentation we will mostly focus on the rapid variations of the core field, and the small scale lithospheric field. We will also discuss the nature of model uncertainties and the limitiations they imply.

BACKGROUND Extracting relations between the entities from Chinese electronic medical records(EMRs) is the key to automatically constructing medical knowledge graphs. Due to the less available labeled corpus, most of the current researches are based on shallow networks, which cannot fully capture the complex semantic features in the text of Chinese EMRs. OBJECTIVE In this study, a hybrid deep learning method based on semi-supervised learning is proposed to extract the entity relations from small-scale complex Chinese EMRs. METHODS The semantic features of sentences are extracted by residual network (ResNet) and the long dependent information is captured by bidirectional GRU (Gated Recurrent Unit). Then the attention mechanism is used to assign weights to the extracted features respectively, and the output of the two attention mechanisms is integrated for relation prediction. We adjusted the training process with manually annotated small-scale relational corpus and bootstrapping semi-supervised learning algorithm, and continuously expanded the datasets during the training process. RESULTS The experimental results show that the best F1-score of the proposed method on the overall relation categories reaches 89.78%, which is 13.07% higher than the baseline CNN model. The F1-score on DAP, SAP, SNAP, TeRD, TeAP, TeCP, TeRS, TeAS, TrAD, TrRD and TrAP 11 relation categories reaches 80.95%, 93.91%, 92.96%, 88.43%, 86.54%, 85.58%, 87.96%, 94.74%, 93.01%, 87.58% and 95.48%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The hybrid neural network method strengthens the feature transfer and reuse between different network layers and reduces the cost of manual tagging relations. The results demonstrate that our proposed method is effective for the relation extraction in Chinese EMRs.

Semi-supervised learning algorithms have become a topic of significant research as an alternative to traditional classification methods which exhibit remarkable performance over labeled data but lack the ability to be applied on large amounts of unlabeled data. In this work, we propose a new semi-supervised learning algorithm that dynamically selects the most promising learner for a classification problem from a pool of classifiers based on a self-training philosophy. Our experimental results illustrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms its component semi-supervised learning algorithms in terms of accuracy, leading to more efficient, stable and robust predictive models.

AbstractMachine-learning methods may be used to perform many tasks required in the analysis of astronomical data, including: data description and interpretation, pattern recognition, prediction, classification, compression, inference and many more. An intuitive and well-established approach to machine learning is the use of artificial neural networks (NNs), which consist of a group of interconnected nodes, each of which processes information that it receives and then passes this product on to other nodes via weighted connections. In particular, I discuss the first public release of the generic neural network training algorithm, calledSkyNet, and demonstrate its application to astronomical problems focusing on its use in the BAMBI package for accelerated Bayesian inference in cosmology, and the identification of gamma-ray bursters. TheSkyNetand BAMBI packages, which are fully parallelised using MPI, are available athttp://www.mrao.cam.ac.uk/software/.

This manuscript presents an improved system research that can detect and recognize the person in 3D space automatically and without the interaction of the people's faces. This system is based not only on a quantum computation and measurements to extract the vector features in the phase of characterization but also on learning algorithm (using SVM) to classify and recognize the person. This research presents an improved technique for automatic 3D face recognition using anthropometric proportions and measurement to detect and extract the area of interest which is unaffected by facial expression. This approach is able to treat incomplete and noisy images and reject the non-facial areas automatically. Moreover, it can deal with the presence of holes in the meshed and textured 3D image. It is also stable against small translation and rotation of the face. All the experimental tests have been done with two 3D face datasets FRAV 3D and GAVAB. Therefore, the test's results of the proposed approach are promising because they showed that it is competitive comparable to similar approaches in terms of accuracy, robustness, and flexibility. It achieves a high recognition performance rate of 95.35% for faces with neutral and non-neutral expressions for the identification and 98.36% for the authentification with GAVAB and 100% with some gallery of FRAV 3D datasets.

In order to overcome the disadvantage of neural networks that their structure and parameters were decided stochastically or by one’s experience, an improved BP neural network training algorithm based on genetic algorithm was proposed. In this paper, genetic algorithms and simulated annealing algorithm that optimizes neural network is proposed which is used to scale the fitness function and select the proper operation according to the expected value in the course of optimization, and the weights and thresholds of the neural network is optimized. This method is applied to the stock prediction system. The experimental results show that the proposed approach have high accuracy, strong stability and improved confidence.
