Trata da interação de formas de comunicação e de informação operada pela internet e redes sociais, enfocando nos meios de troca de ideias e conceitos antecipados pela Mail Art ou Arte Postal.AbstractThe study approaches concepts related to mediation and to the convergence of new technologies, digital media and socio-cultural phenomena that can be found in present days art productions. Revisión sobre las posibilidades de la Performance con la aparición en su momento de nuevas tecnologías, como la fotografía, el vídeo o las tecnologías de comunicación como Internet, ha hecho posible que una acción perdure más allá del momento de su realización, constituyendo un fondo documental, pero con la duda de si la reacción que provoca es diferente o no a la que provocó en aquel instante y, además, al cuestionamiento de la importancia tanto del tiempo como del espacio en la realización de la Performance. Lo incuestionable es que en el momento actual son muchas las performances que se realizan pensadas en exclusiva para la cámara y/o su exhibición en redes sociales de comunicación, dando lugar a la aparición de la video-performance, la foto-performance o la teleperformance. Review of the possibilities of Performance with the appearance, at the time, of new technologies such as photography, video and communications technologies like the Internet, has made it possible that an action will last beyond the time of its completion , constituting a documentary background. It also questions the importance of both time and space in the realization of the Performance. The unquestionable is that at present there are many performances there are many performances that are exclusively designed for the camera and / or the display in social communication networks, leading to the appearance of the video-performance , photo- performance or teleperformance .

Internet y las redes sociales se han convertido en las tecnologías estrella entre los estudiantes actuales. En cambio, todavía hay pocos estudios sobre el uso y percepción que el alumnado hace de ellas. Incluso, es difícil encontrar comparaciones entre las percepciones sobre el uso que realizan los estudiantes desde el punto de vista del profesorado y del mismo alumnado. El objetivo de este trabajo es profundizar en las diferencias entre las percepciones del profesorado y los estudiantes respecto a los usos de internet y redes sociales que estos últimos realizan. La muestra está conformada por 17 600 alumnos y 1 498 docentes de la Ciudad de México. Se realizó un estudio exploratorio y ex post-facto, mediante el instrumento de recogida de datos “Social Media Addiction Scale-Studen Form”. Entre los resultados destaca la diferencia entre la percepción de uso que presenta el alumnado y la que tiene el profesorado. Además, son los estudiantes que cursan sus estudios a distancia los que más utilizan las redes para su proceso de aprendizaje. Estos resultados sugieren la necesidad de tomar medidas educativas para intensificar el uso formativo de internet y las redes sociales entre el alumnado. Internet and social media have become so trend tech activity among the current students. On the other hand, there are still few studies about the usage and the perceptions students have about them. It is even harder to find some comparisons between the perception of the students and the professors in this topic. The purpose of this work is to deepen into the existent differences between the students and teachers perceptions referred to the Internet and social media usage. The sample gathered 17600 students and 1498 teachers within Mexico City. The study was made to explore and post-facto as well, using data form from "Social Media Addiction Scale-Student Form". The results emphasized the difference between the perception of usage for students and for teachers. Students who work their curricula on line, use the internet for their learning process. These results suggest the need to apply educative dictations to intensify the formative use of internet and social media in the student´s environment.

The development of increasingly accessible digital media has resulted in reasonably intense dynamics of political behaviour and articulation. However, the influence of the internet and social media use on Indonesian political culture has not been much discussed. This article explains changes in contemporary Indonesia’s political culture that align with the proliferation of new digital media by considering socio-political conditions and modernization. In its analysis, this article employs a historical-comparative method with an interpretive approach. The results of this study demonstrate that the traditional conception of power relation has historically influenced Indonesian political culture. In the post-Suharto era, the direct electoral system and primacy of television media promoted popular voter preferences that degraded traditional charismatic figures. The rise of the Internet and social media then had democratizing implications by increasing online public discussion. However, subsequent development of new digital media also illustrated counterproductive trajectory to democratic values as online frictions triggered ethnic and religious-based regrouping. Finally, this article considers that although widespread usage of the Internet and social media inspire democratic implications to Indonesian political culture, longstanding and deep-rooted traits, such as primordialism, persist within this more digitalized society.

Digital media are present in all areas of society, even configured as a new space for political socialization. This is especially applicable in the case of young people due to their high use of new technologies, as they are also trained with the necessary skills to do so. In this context, social networks have prompted the emergence of a new type of political participation: which takes place online. Therefore, this study delves into the relationship between the socialization that occurs in the network, digital skills and political participation online and offline. A quantitative survey-based methodology was used with university students from three Ibero-American countries: Mexico, Spain and Chile. The fieldwork was conducted between the months of December 2017 and June 2018. The results obtained show that young people consume mainly digital media, which does not prevent them from being critical with the quality they deserve. In this sense, the political participation actions in which they are involved are mostly developed in the network, thus participating to a lesser extent offline. Therefore, young people enter the world of politics through the consumption of information on the Internet, which favors a subsequent online political participation. Los medios digitales están presentes en todos los ámbitos de la sociedad, configurándose incluso como un nuevo espacio para la socialización política. Ello es especialmente aplicable en el caso de los jóvenes debido al elevado uso que realizan de las nuevas tecnologías, al estar capacitados también con las habilidades necesarias para ello. En este contexto, las redes sociales han propiciado el surgimiento de un nuevo tipo de participación política: la que tiene lugar de forma online. Por tanto, esta investigación indaga sobre la relación existente entre la socialización que se produce en la red, las habilidades digitales y la participación política en línea y fuera de línea. Se utiliza una metodología cuantitativa a partir de la realización de encuestas a jóvenes universitarios de México, España y Chile. El trabajo de campo se desarrolló entre los meses de diciembre de 2017 y junio de 2018. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los jóvenes consumen principalmente medios digitales, lo cual no impide que sean críticos con la calidad que merecen los mismos. En relación con ello, las acciones de participación política en las que se implican se desarrollan en su mayoría en la red, participando así en menor medida fuera de línea. Por tanto, los jóvenes se introducen en el mundo de la política a través de Internet mediante el consumo de información, lo que favorece una posterior participación política online.

Purpose: In post-modern society, Internet and social media mediate between daily life processes such as death, establishing new forms of social interaction among social actors and creating new norms. The creation of digital cemeteries and the usage of the services they offer by Internet users, the conversion of a deceased person’s Facebook profile into a profile “Remembering” or the replacement of a user's profile photo by a black background in cases of grieving, demonstrate emphatically the new dimensions that the event of death takes on Internet and social media, leading to the building of a public experience, despite the fact that in Western societies death is considered to be a private affair.Methods: This paper based on an in-depth review of the literature deals with death as an event mediated by new technologies, since Internet and social media have given the opportunity for new narratives about the experience of death and have contributed to the emergence of new social practices.Conclusions: Users’ interaction in digital environments, on the account of death, generates new broader social relationships, while the operating terms of digital media enable the emergence of new death-related practices that probably substitute traditional rituals, having though the same purpose. At the same time, the continuing presence of the deceased in the digital world ensures a form of "immortality" for him/her, even if not preselected, while at the same time it seems to contribute to the maintenance of a relationship between the living and the deceased.

Resumen Las nuevas tecnologías y las redes sociales hoy en día forman parte de la formación médica en diversos ámbitos. Los cambios que veremos en la cirugía y el cambio generacional de los futuros cirujanos influirán en la manera en que la revolución tecnológica forme parte de la cirugía. En este artículo se revisan las nuevas condiciones de futuro que se afrontarán desde el mundo quirúrgico, la generación que será la base de dichos cambios, y las contribuciones, limitaciones y beneficios que las nuevas tecnologías pueden aportar.

<p>El consumidor actual de productos alimenticios está cada vez más concienciado con su dieta, su estilo de vida y su presupuesto, y por tanto, está más informado y es más exigente. De ello es testigo internet y los <em>social media, </em>cuyo<em> </em>potencial es enorme. En estas plataformas se relacionan millones de individuos formando redes por las que fluye comunicación ‘boca-oreja’ electrónica de gran repercusión para las empresas. Analizar estas redes sociales y mantener el contacto con ellas permite obtener un valioso <em>feedback</em> para la organización. En este de trabajo de investigación se realiza una exploración de la ‘blogosfera’ relacionada con alimentación, su capacidad de prescripción y su posicionamiento ante la publicidad. Finalmente se consideran diferentes aspectos que dan pie a posibles líneas de investigación futura.</p><p>Today’s consumer is becoming increasingly aware of his/her diet, lifestyle and budget, and is therefore more informed and more demanding. The Internet and social media, whose potential is huge, are faithful witnesses of it. Millions of individuals interact on these platforms, creating networks through which ‘electronic word-of-mouth’ of great impact for companies flows. By analyzing and maintaining direct contact with these social networks, researchers can obtain valuable feedback for the organization. This research paper presents an exploration of the food-related ‘blogosphere’, its prescriptive capacity and positioning towards advertising. Finally, some possible lines of further research are considered.</p>

BACKGROUND Youth experiencing homelessness are at a risk for a variety of adverse outcomes. Given the widespread use of the internet and social media, these new technologies may be used to address their needs and for outreach purposes. However, little is known about how this group uses these resources. OBJECTIVE This study investigated how homeless adolescents use these technologies for general and health-related purposes, whether the scope of their use changes with housing status, and their interest in a website dedicated to youth experiencing homelessness. METHODS A convenience sample of youth aged 18 to 21 years was recruited from a youth-specific homeless shelter. All participants completed a 47-item survey, with 10 individuals completing a semistructured interview. Descriptive statistics, exact testing, logistic regression, and generalized estimating equation modeling was performed for quantitative data analysis. Interviews were transcribed verbatim, and NVivo 10 (QSR International) was employed to facilitate double coding and thematic analysis. RESULTS A total of 87 participants completed the survey with a mean age of 19.4 (SD 1.1) years. While experiencing homelessness, 56% (49/87) accessed the internet at least once a day, with 86% (75/87) accessing once a week. Access to a smartphone was associated with a 3.03 greater odds of accessing the internet and was the most frequently used device (66% of participants, 57/87). While experiencing homelessness, subjects reported a 68% decreased odds in internet access frequency (odds ratio [OR] 0.32, P<.001), 75% decreased odds in spending greater amounts of time on the internet (OR 0.25, P<.001), and an 87% decreased odds of social media use (OR 0.13, P=.01). Ten participants completed the semistructured interview. Several themes were identified, including (1) changes in internet behaviors while experiencing homelessness, (2) health status as a major concern and reason for Internet use, and (3) interest in a website dedicated to youth experiencing homelessness. While experiencing homelessness, participants indicated their behaviors were more goal-oriented and less focused on leisure or entertainment activities. CONCLUSIONS While homeless youth experience changes in the frequency, amount of time, and specific uses of the internet and social media, study participants were able to access the internet regularly. The internet was used to search health-related topics. Given the importance of smartphones in accessing the internet, mobile-optimized websites may be an effective method for reaching this group.
