Uniform and magnetic recyclable hollowsphere Zn doped Fe3O4 were successfully synthesized via simple one-pot solvothermal route. Morphology and structure of as-obtained products was characterized by XRD, SEM, HRTEM methods. The Zn-doped Fe3O4 hollowsphere exhibited high photocatalytic activity for degradation of hexavalent chromium under visible light irradiation. The effects of reaction conditions such as initial pH, photocatalyst dosage and hexavalent chromium contratentation were also studied systematically. The stability of the catalysts and and possible catalytic mechanism was also proposed. The results indicate that Zn doped Fe3O4 can be promising catalyst for photo-reduction of hexavalent chromium.

CuS hexagonal nanosheet/graphene was fabricated by a facile one-pot microwave-thermal method. The samples possess excellent photocatalytic activity for degradation of organic pollutant under visible light. The high photocatalytic activity was attributed to the deposition of CuS hexagonal nanosheet onto graphene. CuS nanosheet serves as a transporter which efficiently inhibits the recombination of the photo-induced charge carriers in the nanocomposites. The developed method demonstrates a facile approach towards the synthesis of two-dimensional semiconductor-graphene nanocomposites with excellent photocatalytic performance under visible light.

N-(Carboxymethyl)-N-[2-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)amino]-2-oxoethylglycine (DIS-IDA)* (2a) and two analogues have been successfully synthesized. The synthesis involved a modified one-pot reaction with specific reaction conditions to maximize yields. A general procedure for the isolation of the products has been set out and the stability of compounds (2) is briefly discussed. Characterization is reported with a view for use with 99mTc as radiopharmaceuticals.

A simple and convenient one-pot solvothermal method was developed for the preparation of platinized CdS nanorods. It is more efficient than the conventional post-deposition methods to enhance the HER activity of CdS. The use of a noble metal co-catalyst can be significantly reduced by the route without unduly sacrificing the activity.

Pt/K2La2Ti3O10 was prepared by impregnating K2La2Ti3O10 into H2PtCl6 solution. The structure of the photocatalyst was studied by means of XRD, UV-Vis spectroscopy and XPS. And the photocatalytic activities of the samples were examined in a Pyrex reaction cell by splitting methanol solution. The result revealed that Pt/K2La2Ti3O10 photocatalyst showed much higher activity than pure K2La2Ti3O10 and kept a high photocatalytic activity even after 120 hours of illumination. XPS showed that the valence state of Pt was reduced from Ptto Pt0 during the illumination.
