An increase in the technological upgrades in the mobile communication technology has led to the tremendous increase in the usage of mobile networks. Mobile Adhoc Network is an instantaneous network where the requirement of the infrastructure is not mandatory. This feature has raised a lot of issues in the security aspects of the MANET. The mobility of the nodes, frequent topological changes, weak communication link and lack of infrastructure are the critical factors creating security issues in MANET. The security issues leads to lot of routing attacks, which disturbs the network communication and completely collapse the system. One such attack is the black hole attack. The AODV routing protocol is more vulnerable to the black hole attack. This paper proposes an efficient approach based on outlier detection techniques to detect and prevent the black hole attack in MANET. The results have been simulated using the NS2 simulator and performance of the algorithm has been evaluated based on various performance metrics like packet delivery ratio, routing overhead, detection efficiency ratio and end to end delay time .

The routing security issues of MANETs are described. The Black hole attack, which can easily be deployed against MANET and an efficient technique to isolate the multiple black hole attack, is described. The proposed technique will be based on to analyze the route reply packets in which the nodes reply with the exceptional high sequence number is add into blacklist. To isolate these nodes from the network, technique of clustering will be applied this improvement leads to increase network performance. The future work may be concentrate on the proposed technique can be compared with some other technique of intrusion detection for mobile ad-hoc networks. And also the proposed technique can be applied for the detection of wormhole attack in the network. The malicious nodes which are increasing delay in the network.

In Wireless ad-hoc network, the infrastructure of MANET's differ to each other due to the topology of MANETs changes time to time because the mobile nodes of MANET's are movable. In MANETs protocols, if any node wants to communicate with another node then they establish a path with the help of adjacent node due to this the security in MANETs protocol is vulnerable. Thus, there are various types of attacks are try to break the security of MANETs protocol. AODV is a popular and most usable protocol of MANET and Black Hole Attack is a severe attack that affects the functionality of AODV protocol. The malicious node treat to the source node which have freshest and nearest path for the destination. In this work, my prime focus specifically is on follow the security against Black Hole Attack. I proposed AODV protocol capture some extra effort for source node and destination node which based on best possible effort (heuristic) with appropriate simulation using ns-2.35.
