Abstract With the growing complexity of integrated circuits (IC) comes the issue of quality control during the manufacturing process. In order to avoid late realization of design flaws which could be very expensive, the characterization of the mechanical properties of the IC components needs to be carried out in a more efficient and standardized manner. The effects of changes in the manufacturing process and materials used on the functioning and reliability of the final device also need to be addressed. Initial work on accurately determining several key mechanical properties of bonding pads, solder bumps and coatings using a combination of different methods and equipment has been summarized.

In view of the production quality management of filter rods in the manufacturing and execution process of cigarette enterprises, this paper analyzes the necessity of implementing the manufacturing execution system (MES) in the production process of filter rods. In this paper, the filter rod quality system of cigarette enterprise based on MES is fully studied, and the constructive information management system demand analysis, cigarette quality control process, system function module design, implementation and test effect are given. This paper utilizes the Fuzzy analytic hierarchy process to find the optimal system for processing the manufacturing of cigarette. The implementation of MSE based filter rod quality information management system for a cigarette enterprise ensures the quality control in the cigarette production process. Through visualization, real-time and dynamic way, the information management of cigarette production is completed, which greatly improves the quality of cigarette enterprise manufacturing process.

Abstract The color cosmetic market, even though highly dependent on color, is driven by texture. Pigment and color innovation are predominantly taking place in the field of inorganic effect pigments, as colorants are regulated within the different cosmetic directives and toxicological profiles have to be established prior to use. Therefore, the formulation and the packaging are the relevant innovative factors. Nevertheless, color cosmetics are driven by fashion and trends. One of the main drivers for sales is social networks. They are image based and therefore the ideal platform to spread these trends, boosting sales of color cosmetics recently. Even though, color cosmetics seem to be very simple in composition, the development, production and quality control are far from that. In color cosmetics, all cosmetic disciplines cumulate: dispersion strategies, emulsion technologies, molding and extruding of sticks and pencil leads, mixing and compressing of powders, liquid inks and so on. And almost every discipline requires separate production vessels, resulting in a rather complex manufacturing process.

In this paper, a manufacturing process is analyzed, having as quality characteristic the “height of the screw head”, using analyzes and representative diagrams. Based on this case study, the way to solve these types of problems using the Quality Control Chart module of the WinQSB program, as well as the XLSTAT program is presented.

A structured quality control model was proposed. It was a multilevel and knowledge-based quality control model which took Goal, Question, Metric, Measure and other fundamental elements as the main line, structured principle as guidance, manufacturing process as carrier, and improve quality of manufacturing system as destination. Firstly, a structured analysis principle was introduced. And then a structured quality control model was proposed combining bearing manufacturing process. A formal description of mappings between Goal-Question-Metric-Measure (GQMM) was also discussed. Finally; the architecture of the model was presented.

Nowadays, customers are seeking products of high quality and low cost. The use of neural networks in quality control has been a popular research topic over the last decade. An adaptive self-organizing mapping (SOM) neural network algorithm is proposed to overcome the shortages of traditional neural networks in this paper. In order to improve the classification effectiveness of SOM neural network, this paper designs an improved SOM neural network, which combined the SOM and K-means algorithms. The flow of combination of SOM and K-means algorithms was analyzed in this paper. And the case study of cement slide shoe bearing in manufacturing process was also given to illustrate the feasible and effective.
