The analysis of motor vehicles’ traffic conditions affecting their safety in mine workings has been carried out. The probabilities and risk level of accidents for various combinations of influencing factors have been determined for a typical potash mine. Has been evaluated the signal control impact on the traffic safety. Based on performed estimations has been made a conclusion that a signal control in potash mines only slightly reduces the possibility of accidents, so it’s unlikely that the signal control is economically justifiable.

To study the problem of highway traffic safety in cold regions, a thorough statistical analysis using traffic accident historical data is used to evaluate the influencing factors on highway traffic safety. A road traffic safety indicator system for cold regions is developed to evaluate the weight of these influence factors, such as driver performance, vehicle capacity, road condition, and general impact of the traffic environment. An index system of highway traffic safety influencing factors for cold regions is developed, and an evaluation model for traffic road safety influencing factors in cold regions based on attribute recognition theory is proposed. The weight of the model is determined using an analytic hierarchy process combined with expert scoring. The evaluation model is based on single-index attribute measure values and multi-index comprehensive attribute measurement values, using the confidence criterion to identify the influence of road traffic safety factors on road traffic safety in cold regions. In addition, the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is used for comparative evaluation, and the evaluation results were consistent and verified the correctness and feasibility of the attribute recognition model. Results showed that the evaluation system was in good agreement with actual traffic conditions in cold regions.

Over the years, traffic safety has been taught and has become a common subject in Vietnamese primary schools. Educational activities take place in both formal and extra-curricular educational activities. However, traffic safety education and management of traffic safety education in schools have not received adequate attention. Implementation activities are still formal, have not shown continuity, long-term and drastic; the coordination with other educational forces is not synchronized, etc. Therefore, the effect achieved in traffic safety education in schools is not high. Aware of the importance of this activity, based on the actual survey in 04 selected primary schools, with 84 people being administrators and teachers; The study focuses on analyzing the current situation, necessity, and problems posed in traffic safety education management activities in primary schools.

Right-turn lane (RTL) crashes are among the most key contributors to intersection crashes in the US. Different right turn lanes based on their design, traffic volume, and location have varying levels of crash risk. Therefore, engineers and researchers have been looking for alternative ways to improve the safety and operations for right-turn traffic. This study investigates the traffic safety performance of the RTL in Indiana state based on multi-sources, including official crash reports, official database, and field study. To understand the RTL crashes' influencing factors, we introduce a random effect negative binomial model and log-linear model to estimate the impact of influencing factors on the crash frequency and severity and adopt the robustness test to verify the reliability of estimations. In addition to the environmental factors, spatial and temporal factors, intersection, and RTL geometric factors, we propose build environment factors such as the RTL geometrics and intersection characteristics to address the endogeneity issues, which is rarely addressed in the accident-related research literature. Last, we develop a case study with the help of the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The empirical analyses indicate that RTL crash frequency and severity is mainly influenced by turn radius, traffic control, and other intersection related factors such as right-turn type and speed limit, channelized type, and AADT, acceleration lane and AADT. In particular, the effects of these factors are different among counties and right turn lane roadway types.

This study aims to study the influencing factors of traffic accidents in undersea tunnels and establish a prediction model of undersea tunnel traffic accidents. Through face-to-face inquiry and telephone survey, the relevant information of drivers who had traffic accidents in Jiaozhou Bay undersea tunnel from 2018 to 2019 was obtained, and the relevant information of citizens passing through Jiaozhou Bay undersea tunnel was obtained by posting questionnaires on the Internet. Based on whether there were traffic accidents in undersea tunnel, the drivers with undersea tunnel driving experience were divided into accident group and control group. Through the single factor analysis of the data, it is found that drinking, bad driving habits, having traffic accident experience, speeding and other thirteen factors have an important impact on the occurrence of traffic accidents undersea tunnel. Multivariate analysis was carried out on thirteen factors with significant influence, and a model for predicting the probability of accidents in undersea tunnels was established. Five influencing factors of speeding, the following distance is too small, carelessness, illegal lane change and having traffic accidents experience entered the model, with OR values of 7.11(2.94-18.90), 2.35(1.17-4.08), 3.99(1.23-7.45), 2.68(1.15-6.39) and 3.95(1.78-6.11). The occurrence of accidents in undersea tunnel is related to the length of the tunnel and the traffic flow. For an undersea tunnel with a length of 7 km and an average daily traffic flow of 50000 vehicles, the number of daily traffic accidents is 1.96. The driver’s violations and the driver’s carelessness are the main factors in undersea tunnel traffic accident. In order to improve the traffic safety of undersea tunnel, government departments should step up enforcement against traffic violations. In addition, the undersea tunnel management department needs to consider taking measures to improve the harsh and monotonous environment in the tunnel. This study provides an empirical basis for the prevention of traffic accidents in undersea tunnels.
