In the reservoir storage and operation process, the geological environment of reservoir bank will change significantly; the changes often cause some geological problems, such as landslide, reconstruction of reservoir bank etc. In this paper, Jiatanchang reservoir has been taken for example, under the premise of engineering geology and stability analysis, Kachugin Method was applied to forecast bank collapse; combining with urban planning and ecological protection, the corresponding protective proposal has been put forward.

A landslide monitoring network construction within unified datum which combined fiducial points, working reference points, and monitoring points was intensively studied in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. With special long and narrow geographical location in the area, designing and building monitoring network was vital to the realization of landslide monitoring. To build such a network with high precision, this paper mainly focused on the following four aspects: (1) method of using multiple GPS reference stations to build a unified datum network and subnet adjustment, (2) GPS data processing algorithm with millimeter level, (3) analysis of influence on the adjustment resulting from systematic error of time evolution datum from different GPS observations, and (4) establishment and stability analysis of unified datum. Then, using global test and trial-and-error method to analyze the datum based on the GPS observations (2008~2011) of landslide monitoring network in the area, we concluded that there were moved reference points during the three years of high water impoundment, and the horizontal displacement of moved reference points was more than 4 cm, even up to 79.4 cm. The displacement direction of unstable reference points was inspected with geographical environment at sites, which revealed congruency between them.

Through the analysis of the external factors including the engineering geological and hydro geological conditions of the collapse and internal factors, the collapse is divided into 6 period of different areas, and the paper determine the types of collapse and make stability analysis one by one. Then the steady state is determined. Based on the protection of the combination of bank collapse object, the corresponding treatment methods are put forward. A comprehensive comparison among the technical degree of difficulty, degree of environmental protection, construction and economy has been made. Eventually the implementation plan is recommended.

Daomakan slope, a typical ancient slope by Jingsha River, locates in Xiangjiaba Reservoir. With the rising of water level of Xiangjiaba Reservoir, Daomakan slope might pose threaten to the reservoir. Based on the detailed field investigation, the author firstly proves that Daomakan slope is an ancient landslide by the following evidences: a 1.5 meters cracked layer was found at the front of the landslide and a very deep shearing scratch appeared on the bedrock surface. Meanwhile ,the evidences above can be used to speculate that the strong earthquake is the main cause in triggering the landslide. According to the triggering and sliding process, stability analysis is conducted from an engineering geological perspective. The method adopted in this paper is suitable for field investigation, and provides a certain reference value on the ancient seismic landslides stability analysis in Xiangjiaba Reservoir area.
