Abstract In this study, we examined the impact of emotional intelligence on sales performance. We posited that the impact of emotional intelligence (EI) on sales performance was mediated by adaptive selling behaviour (ASB). Data were collected from 281 sales people in the financial industries in Malaysia via the WLEIS emotional intelligence scale and ADAPTS adaptive selling behaviour scale, and were quantitatively analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM). Results were in keeping with the model. Three domains of EI were not found to impact sales performance directly but through ASB. Theoretical implications and managerial ramifications were also discussed.

Purpose of the study: The primary purpose of this empirical research is to investigate the impact of school cooperative involvement on entrepreneurial intention among Malaysian secondary school students. The school cooperative program was introduced in Malaysia in 1968, and presently, 2421 school cooperatives are operating nationwide. Despite so, the impact of school cooperative towards students’ entrepreneurial intention remains unclear. Methodology: This research employed the quantitative method, using a cross-sectional survey. The data collected from secondary school students in the East Coast Peninsular of Malaysia involve three states, namely Kelantan, Terengganu, and Pahang. The study employed the Covariance Based Structural Equation Modelling (CB SEM) to analyze the data using the Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) graphic. Principal finding: The result shows that the students’ involvement in the school cooperative increases their entrepreneurial intention. Applications of this study: The Malaysian government should focus on nurturing entrepreneurship in schools. The Ministry of Education (MOE) and Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia (ANGKASA) need to enforce assessments on participating students to ensure the effectiveness of this entrepreneurship education program. Moreover, school administrators should support the school cooperative owing to its positive impact on students. Novelty/Originality of this study: This research delivers the best way to increase entrepreneurial intention by measuring the impact of students’ involvement in school cooperatives. Also, the paper proposes a framework for enhancing entrepreneurial intention by clarifying the Theory of Students’ Involvement. Consequently, this research fills the previous research gap on entrepreneurial intention and lack of information on Malaysian school cooperatives.

Internet technology has been invariably infused in all the aspects of engineering student’s life, excessive of which can lead to destruction in health, behaviour, academic grades and job performance. Personality disposition is one of the major factors in developing digital addiction among students from technical discipline. The study aims to explore the predictive ability of personality traits (introversion and emotional intelligence) on internet addiction and the mediating role of the emotional intelligence on the association between introversion and rampant usage of the internet. A sample of 260 students was picked up from engineering colleges with the mean age of 22.3 years. Internet Addiction Test, emotional intelligence questionnaire and McCroskey introversion scale were administered to gather related data. SPSS, structural equation modelling with partial least square and PROCESS macro were used to perform statistical and mediational analyses. The data were analysed with multivariate correlation, hierarchical regression, structural equation modelling and mediational analysis using the bootstrapping method. The results discovered that emotional intelligence and introversion have a noteworthy predictive effect on the level of internet addiction. Mediation analysis shows that emotional intelligence has full mediation effect on the relation between introversion and internet addiction. Excessive internet usage taking a toll on the mental and physical health of engineering students, whereas personality traits are playing a crucial role in developing such a behavioural addiction, and therefore, early detection and prevention is needed urgently.

This research investigates occupational stress as mediator of relationship between workload, emotional intelligence and performance of teachers in Probolinggo regency. A number of 198 teachers from both public and private secondary school in the regency were randomly selected. Data collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The analysis on the validity of workload, emotional intelligence, occupational stress and performance instrument gives result above 0.139 (rtable). This tells that all instruments are valid while the reliabilities based on the analysis result in Alpha coefficient of 0.6, which is reliable. The results showed that both workload and emotional intelligence significantly influence work stress and teacher performance, and work stress is able to mediate the effect of workload and emotional intelligence on teacher performance.

The objectives of this article were to determine whether a relationship exists between the state of the psychological contract and emotional intelligence, and whether emotional intelligence is a predicting variance of the state of the psychological contract. A sample of 224 individuals from the mining and engineering field was used. Two questionnaires were combined, namely, the questionnaire on psychological contracts across employment situations and the Schutte Self-report Emotional Intelligence Test. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences was used to analyse the descriptive statistics and structural equation modelling to analyse the predictive statistics in order to develop a structural model. The results indicated a link between the two constructs, and that emotional intelligence is a predictor of the state of the psychological contract.
