The determination of operation area from en-route alternates for long-range airline aircraft is an important aspect of ensuring safety of the upcoming flight. In the domestic and foreign methodological literature on flight planning, including the guidance material for flight planning systems, there is no single reasonable algorithm for constructing operation areas of long-range aircraft, including the use of the EDTO-ETOPS rules. The lack of methodological materials leads to the «free» values determination of areas of operation by airlines for their long-range aircraft while building routes, in particular, when determining the areas of operation on the route, the decrease in the aircraft weight during fuel combustion is ignored. A big question is also the «initial» mass calculations to determine the value of operation areas. The article identifies shortcomings of existing algorithm for identifying the areas of operation based on the fundamental methods for determining area of operation. Microsoft Excel 2019 has been used to perform a polynomial approximation of the table-specific function of the dependence of operation radius on the mass of a long-range aircraft. Based on the certain equations, more advanced algorithm to determine areas of operation has been developed. The new algorithm pays special attention to the selection of the original value of operation area. The calculations in this article are made for the Boeing 777 as the main type of long-range aircraft operated by airlines in the Russian Federation. The developed algorithm increases the flexibility of the route by increasing the radius of operation areas from en-route alternates and can be used in flight planning systems of airlines.

The concept of transmedia storytelling introduced by Henry Jenkins (2003, 2006) has been widely developed in the academic field, getting popular and being redefined with time. In transmedia storytelling’s definition we can observe the focus on the concept of world, which from a theoretical and critical perspective did not had the development that the relationship among narrative and media had. This work gathers and analyzes a selection of references from the main authors that have defined the nature, limits and transferability of the so called transmedial worlds, proposing conclusions related to the need to observe the phenomenon of transmedia narratives, its founding elements and the processes related to them, with the aim to elaborate a catalogue of criteria for the analysis and consideration of key element of transmedia storytelling.

Choosing a major is not an easy matter. There are many factors that must be taken into account and carefully thought out so that in choosing a major, it will cause big losses. There are many ways to determine the selection of majors, one of which is by using fuzzy logic. Determination of majors is determined from the results of the selection test in the academic field with the subjects of Mathematics, English and Computer Knowledge. With the aim of recommending the selection of the right major according to academic abilities and improving quality. By using the fuzzy inference model Mamdani max-min method. The system simulation was tried using the MATLAB Fuzzy Toolbox software. The system design is carried out in several stages, namely: (1) formation of fuzzy sets, (2) formation of rules, (3) determination of the composition of rules, and (4) confirmation (defuzzification). Defuzzification is carried out using the Composite Moment method, with the types of membership functions used are mf-triangular, mf-trapezoid and mf-gaussian. From the results of the tests carried out, it shows that the mf-triangular and mf-trapezoid membership function types produce almost the same level of accuracy. While the membership function type mf-gaussian produces a high level of accuracy for mathematics by 87.50%, English 100% and computer knowledge 81.58%.

Introductioan: This article discusses the relevance of maritime border delimitation with environmental factors that affect the determination of delimitation.Purposes of the Research: The purpose of this study is to analyze the urgency of the role of the environment in the maritime border delimitation process. Specifically focused on analyzing whether there is a positive relationship between environmental considerations and the development of the delimitation process and to determine the environmental factors that influence the delimitation. Methods of the Research: This research uses normative research with a conceptual approach. Researchers use relevant environmental law concepts in the maritime border delimitation process. Results of the Research: The results of the study show that there is a relevance of environmental factors in determining maritime border delimitation, among others from factors: conservation of wildlife reserves, the principle of natural prolongation, the principle of sustainable development, mineral resources, and fisheries. The relationship between environmental factors and the delimitation process occurs in two ways: First, environmental considerations show a direct influence in the selection of the delimitation method. Here environmental factors are an important motive in the delimitation process. Second, environmental factors affect the delimitation process indirectly where there are a number of delimitation agreements that do not include specific provisions regarding the environment, but the evidence shows that the parties are motivated by environmental factors in negotiating delimitation.

It has been more than forty years since the first international meeting on “Women in the Migration Process” was held in Mexico City in 1974. Since then, a voluminous academic production has emerged to trace the relationship between migration and gender inequalities in Latin America and institutionalize this nascent academic field. Important contributions in this field have shed light on women in migratory processes, demystified the predominantly associational character of female migration, stressed the heterogeneity of women’s journeys, challenged the previously held consensus on migration as a mechanism of female empowering, and, finally, problematized variables such as class, ethnic, and generational distinctions in nonlinear reciprocal relations. Using a mixed-methods approach, this chapter includes a selection of the most representative work in this field, then presents more recent research on migration and gender in the region produced from 2006 to 2018.

AbstractBackgroundTracking recent transmission is a vital part of controlling widespread pathogens such asMycobacterium tuberculosis. Multiple methods with specific performance characteristics exist for detecting recent transmission chains, usually by clustering strains based on genotype similarities. With such a large variety of methods available, informed selection of an appropriate approach for determining transmissions within a given setting/time period is difficult.MethodsThis study combines whole genome sequence (WGS) data derived from 324 isolates collected 2005-2010 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), a high endemic setting, with phylodynamics to unveil the timing of transmission events posited by a variety of standard genotyping methods. Clustering data based on Spoligotyping, 24-loci MIRU-VNTR typing, WGS based SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) and core genome multi locus sequence typing (cgMLST) typing were evaluated.FindingsOur results suggest that clusters based on Spoligotyping could encompass transmission events that occurred over 70 years prior to sampling while 24-loci-MIRU-VNTR often represented two or more decades of transmission. Instead, WGS based genotyping applying low SNP or cgMLST allele thresholds allows for determination of recent transmission events in timespans of up to 10 years e.g. for a 5 SNP/allele cut-off.InterpretationWith the rapid uptake of WGS methods in surveillance and outbreak tracking, the findings obtained in this study can guide the selection of appropriate clustering methods for uncovering relevant transmission chains within a given time-period. For high resolution cluster analyses, WGS-SNP and cgMLST based analyses have similar clustering/timing characteristics even for data obtained from a high incidence setting.

Total polar materials (TPM) content is considered as the best indicator and the most common parameter to check the quality of deep-frying oils. The development of simpler and quicker analytical techniques than the available methods to monitor oil quality in restaurants and fried food outlets is an important topic related to the human health. This paper reports a comparison of the variable selection of near infrared (NIR) spectra by multiple linear regression (MLR-NIR) with partial least squares (PLS-NIR) models for the quantification of TPM in fried vegetable oils. The use of PLS-NIR offers an alternative in laboratory bench equipment for the determination of TPM in oils employed for frying different kinds of foods with relative prediction errors of 6.5%, a coefficient of determination for prediction of 0.99 and a residual predictive deviation (RPD) of 9.2 when selected wavenumber intervals were employed. MLR-NIR allows the selection of a reduced number of wavenumber in order to develop low cost instruments to evaluate the frying oil quality. Based on the NIR signals at four wavenumbers, the relative prediction error was 12.1%, the coefficient of determination for prediction was 0.96 and the RPD was 5.0.

A rapid and nondestructive method for measuring internal browning of apple was put forward based on FT-NIR spectroscopy and the relationship between NIR spectroscopy nondestructive measurement and internal browning was developed. The NIR spectroscopies were acquired from 512 apples. Cluster analysis algorithm based on Euclidean distance was applied to selection of representative samples. The multivariable analysis concluding partial least squares (PLS) and multiple linear regression (MLR) were applied to build the regression models. The excellent model with high R2 (0.871) was obtained by PLS based on 3 wavelength ranges (950–1440 nm, 1480–1890 nm, 1960–2300 nm) and with multiplicative scatter correction (MSC) pretreatment. These suggest the model of apple internal browning was reliable with good predict ability and can meet the requirement to quick determination of internal browning of apples.
