The aim of this study is to investigate the longitudinal influence of self-esteem on romantic and coparental relationship quality. The data were drawn from the German Family Panel, pairfam. Parents ( n couples = 2,364) were assessed three times over 4 years. The results indicated that romantic and coparental quality decreased over time, while self-esteem remained stable. The self-esteem of both parents predicted initial romantic and coparental quality. Additionally, mothers’ self-esteem reduced the decline in romantic quality. Finally, romantic quality mediated the relationship between parents’ self-esteem and coparental quality. These results suggest that self-esteem might be a resource for the parental couple and even for the family unit, as romantic and coparental quality are key elements for the well-being of both parent and child.

Adolescent development is determined by many factors that intertwine, sometimes complementing each other and sometimes negating or cancelling each other out. One of them is the self-esteem which is conditioned by various factors. At the same time, self-esteem significantly determines the ways an individual develops and the extent to which he develops his abilities. Previous research has confirmed the importance of the relation between self-esteem and parental acceptance. This study aims to investigate the relationship between parental acceptance and adolescent self-esteem. The study was conducted on a sample of 401 students from the University of Mostar. In the study, the following instruments were used: a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Quality of Family Interaction Scale - KOBI and the Self-Esteem Questionnaire – SEI. In order to achieve the set research goal, the following methods were applied: descriptive statistics methods and Chi-square test. The obtained results confirmed the hypothesis that the higher the degree of parental acceptance is, the higher the level of adolescents' self-esteem is.

When analyzed in terms of body mass index it was found out that of the students 16.8% are low weight, 70.9% are moderate and 12.3% are owerweight.  When the results obtained by the research was examined it was observed that there are meaningful relationships between body mass index (BMI) values and self-esteem and life quality  and between self-esteem and life quality. However, when the self-esteem values of the adolescent individuals were excluded within the scope of the research, the relationship between BMI and life quality points which previously show meaningful level positive relationship is almost non-existent. The findings which obtained with this research were argued within the frames of existing research findings.

The article is devoted to the topical topic of the relationship between the level of motivation for success, self-esteem and personal characteristics of students. In today's reality, to achieve high results in life, young people need to constantly motivate themselves to achieve success. Previously, scientists have found that the properties of personality affect the features of motivation to achieve success, and the features of motivation, becoming fixed, become the properties of personality. The article presents the results of a study of personal characteristics of students with different levels of success. The study found that students with an average level of motivation to achieve success are more anxious than students with a high level of motivation to achieve. Students with a high level of motivation to achieve success are characterized by such personal properties as lability, spontaneity and a high level of self-esteem. Respondents with a high level of motivation for success are more spontaneous, they are focused on meeting the needs for knowledge and self-realization, and can act based on their own beliefs and attitudes, while using a creative approach. The author revealed a correlation between the indicators of aggression, spontaneity and motivation to achieve success in fourth-year students. Lability affects students ' self-esteem. The results of the research and presented in this article can be interesting and useful to psychologists, teachers, coaches working with students in order to form motivation for success in educational and professional activities.

63 young people ( M age = 23.9 yr., SD = 2.4, 50 men, 13 women) belonging to four subculture groups (New American Punk, Cyberpunk, Trash Style, and Rasta-Hippy) were studied to examine the relationship between self-esteem, self-efficacy, and the development of a body modification collection. A survey was created to evaluate quality of life, risk behaviour, and body modification. Self-esteem and self-efficacy were assessed using the Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and General Perceived Self-efficacy Scale. Belonging to a group which permits neglect of standard norms of communal life makes it possible to avoid facing up to low self-esteem. Adherence to a group appears, from the results of this study, to be correlated with self-efficacy; inability to cope with life situations suggests a state of malaise in these young people.

Abstract Family caregivers of older people living with dementia are relatives, friends, or neighbors who provide assistance related to this condition, but who are unpaid for the services they provide. Although caregiving could be personally rewarding, many caregivers report a high level of strain. Compared to caregivers of older adults who do not have dementia, family caregivers of older people living with dementia report lower quality-of-life (QoL). In a published systematic review examining the relationship between family caregiver QoL and the quality of care provided, only one study was found to be somewhat relevant. The study suggested that the primary reason for an absence of research into the link between family caregiver QoL and quality of care was the absence of a questionnaire for measuring quality of care in dementia. Therefore, any attempt to investigate the impact of caregiver QoL on the care provided to older people with dementia must first address the lack of an instrument to measure quality of care. To address this issue, we interviewed approximately 20 family caregivers in order to elicit feedback on measurements and interpretation of the quality of care provided by family caregivers of older people living with dementia. Content analysis of the interview transcripts revealed that the quality of relationships with family, caregiver availability to provide or supervise care, and availability of paid or volunteer help are important for the quality of care provided. These results have important implications, particularly for the development of an instrument to measure quality of care in dementia.
