For many decades there has been a consensus among linguists of various schools that derivational suffixes function not only to determine the word-class of the complex expressions they form, but also convey semantic information. The aspect of suffix-inherent meaning is ignored by representatives of a relatively new theoretical direction – Neo-Construction Grammar – who consider derivational suffixes to be either purely functional elements of the grammar or meaningless phonological realizations of abstract grammatical morphemes. The latter view is maintained by adherents of Distributed Morphology, who at the same time emphasize the importance of conceptual knowledge for derivational processes without attempting to define this aspect. The purpose of this study is first of all to provide support for the long-standing assumption that suffixes are inherently meaningful. The focus of interest is on the suffixes -ship, -dom and -hood. Data from Old English and Modern English (including neologisms) will show that these suffixes have developed rich arrays of meaning which cannot be structurally derived. Moreover, since conceptual knowledge is indeed an important factor for word-formation processes, a concrete, theory-independent model for the representation of the synchronically observable meaning components associated with -ship, -dom and -hood will be proposed.

Use of Business Models within Model Driven Architecture Model Driven Architecture is a framework dedicated for development of large and complex computer systems. It states and implements the principle of architectural separation of concerns. This means that a system can be modeled from three different but related to each other viewpoints. The viewpoint discussed in this paper is a Computation Independent one. MDA specification states that a model that shows a system from this viewpoint is a business model. Taking into account transformations foreseen by MDA, it should be useful for automation of software development processes. This paper discusses an essence of the Computation Independent Model (CIM) and the place of business models in the computation independent modeling. This paper considers four types of business models, namely, SBVR, BPMN, use cases and Topological Functioning Model (TFM). Business persons use SBVR to define business vocabularies and business rules of the existing and planned domains, BPMN to define business processes of both existing and planned domains, and use cases to define business requirements to the planned domain. The TFM is used to define functionality of both existing and planned domains. This paper discusses their capabilities to be used as complete CIMs with formally defined conformity between planned and existing domains.

<p>Triangulasi udara (<em>Aerial Triangulation</em>/AT) merupakan tahap penting dalam akuisisi foto udara. Hasil pemrosesan AT akan berpengaruh terhadap ketelitian foto udara yang dihasilkan, sehingga menentukan kualitas geometrik peta yang menggunakan foto udara tersebut sebagai data dasar. Kualitas hasil AT ditentukan dengan hasil statistik perataan dan membandingkan nilai <em>Independent Check Point</em> (ICP) yang diukur menggunakan GPS Geodetik dengan nilai titik yang sama pada model stereo di foto yang sudah dilakukan AT. Namun meski sudah memenuhi standar ketelitian, terdapat beberapa kasus dimana pada lokasi yang sama di model yang berbeda memiliki nilai ketinggian (Z) yang berbeda. Hal ini tentunya akan menjadi masalah, terutama ketika selisihnya di atas toleransi ketelitian yang ditentukan. Penelitian ini menguji nilai koordinat dan elevasi pada beberapa lokasi yang tercakup dalam dua model. Objek yang dipilih adalah objek-objek yang tegas dan mudah diinterpretasi di foto seperti siku lapangan atau bangunan, dengan jumlah objek sejumlah 15 titik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan data foto udara Palu yang diakuisisi pada tahun 2013. Hasil AT menunjukkan <em>sigma naught</em> = 1,9 mikron dengan uji akurasi menghasilkan ketelitian horizontal (CE90) = 0,786 m dan ketelitian vertikal (LE90) = 1,782 m, dimana CE90 dan LE90 didapatkan dari membandingkan koordinat ICP hasil pengukuran GPS dan di model stereo. Dengan hasil AT tersebut, objek-objek yang diuji memiliki rata-rata ΔX = 0,174 m, ΔY = 0,288 m, dan ΔZ = 0,278 m, dimana angka tersebut didapatkan dengan membandingkan pengecekan titik pada objek yang sama di dua model stereo yang berbeda.</p><p><strong>Kata kunci</strong>: foto udara, triangulasi udara, koordinat, elevasi, model</p>

Information searching based on users’ query, which is hopefully able to find the documents based on users’ need, is known as Information Retrieval. This research uses Vector Space Model method in determining the similarity percentage of each student’s assignment. This research uses PHP programming and MySQL database. The finding is represented by ranking the similarity of document with query, with mean average precision value of 0,874. It shows how accurate the application with the examination done by the experts, which is gained from the evaluation with 5 queries that is compared to 25 samples of documents. If the number of counted assignments has higher similarity, thus the process of similarity counting needs more time, it depends on the assignment’s number which is submitted.
